Leave the gen, get a skillcheck "bug"
Did devs have ever adressed this "bug". It lost me so many games and I would guess for other people too. Will we ever gonna get a fix for it?
Last night's games made me create this thread because it is a bit ridiculous your position is being given away to no fault of your own - just bad game design. Sorry feng, I couldn't unhook you because game decided to tell the killer exactly where I am 😞

Yeah, it's pretty bad.
If anything, if a skillcheck decides to pop up the second you're leaving the gen, it should follow you like Overchargr skillchecks do.

Yeah, they've proven they can do this with Overcharge so I've got no clue why this is still a thing.

As survivor, there are two things you can count on happening in the match:
- Surprise skill check that auto-fails when you stop repairing
- The energy rift for the event closing just as you get to it

I figure it's a feature and not a bug. As Otz pointed out in a YouTube video, some players eventually reach a point where they stop failing skill checks and it seems the devs put this in the game so that skill checks will still fail on ocassion (at no fault to the player, aside from waiting for a skill check and succedding it first, and THEN letting go)

Skill checks can only appear once every 3 seconds at most. So wait until you get a skill check, then let go before the next one.

I don't know if this is true or not, but the RNG nature of this game makes me-- not doubt it.

That would be a terrible design choice.
Players are too good, let's make fail the skillchecks on purpose...

Yeah, sometimes you need to go for unhook and you can sit on a gen for 20 sec not getting a single skill check
4 -
Are you sure of that? Because I recall sometimes having 2 or even 3 skillchecks in a row with barely any time in between, the wiki doesnt say anything about internal CDs.

It’s actually possibly intended as a way to make it a little risky to leave a gen midway through since you risk the chance it will lose some progress.

What bug?

One more reason not to play DBD. Poorly programmed game that artificially makes you "fail".

Is this also related to the skill check audio que that goes off when I leave a gen and it doesn't explode it?

Leaving a gen sometimes will prompt a skillcheck that just announced itself, causing the gen to nuke itself
Tends to happen the most whenever running off a gen from what I noticed

I wondered for ages why this happened to me a lot? I just thought I was getting bad luck all the time 😅

That's not a bug, it's just RNG.

Not when it happens every single time you get off the gen

Idk it happens way too often for it to be rng

I actually don't mind this bit of RNG. Yeah in match in the heat of the moment it sucks and can be frustrating especially when it happens multiple times in a row.
But I like the idea of having to be smarter with committing for a gen or just hopping off. There's a lot of RNG in this game that I don't agree with, but this isn't actually too bad.
If they every decide to make gens more interactive than just skill checks I wouldn't mind this being removed, but until then it's the most interesting part of doing gens, sadly.

It doesn't. Otz did a video on this already and it's not as common as you think:

it's pretty sad when you get no skill check for 20 seconds and the exact moment you let go it just explodes like ######### really. yet another 'feature' that removes just a tiny bit more survivor agency, contributing to how ######### solo queue feels. i don't see why it couldn't just save the skillcheck until the moment ANY survivor next interacts with that specific generator, that would make the most sense, like here's a tricky bit of the repair job, cannot progress more until it's done.

So if killer is coming to my gen I'm supposed to just stay there waiting for a skill check?
