can dbd come up with new challenge ideas
i hate the ones that make your throw the game, like hide in the killers heart beat for 60 seconds and stun the killer 6 times in one match have one for looping or something like have the killer chase you for x amount of time, like you cant even do hatch challenges anymore use a key to open the hatch and escape i tried that so many times and failed

For tome challenges, the worst combination of words ever used was "in one trial". It causes more game throwing, trolling, anger and disgust than anything else. Except maybe spawning into a trial and hearing a Nurse's scream.

Stun challenges.
Why so many stun challenges

Finish repairing 4 generators while equipping the perk Dark Sense. That’s a hilarious one.

Every time they come up with new challenge ideas everyone complains about it being too hard.
Players don't want challenges, they want free bloodpoints.
Just give out more codes.

They should bring back the "complete six consecutive great skill checks" from the early rifts.

No matter the challenge there will always be people that farm and throw games for them which is the issue.
While in one trial games definitely make more people do it I'd hate for BHVR to make grindy challenges even more common
Personally they should just make everyone share challenges in the trial, stun challenge? Anyone on your team can stun the killer and you'll get it etc. Will reduce people throwing games for them

thats not what anyone is saying.
There is a difference between difficulty and being obtuse. There is a quite large number of challanges that disrupt gameplay in an unhealthy manner and forces survivors to ruin matches for others with requirements that are extremely unnecessary and counterintuitive to survival.

How about "Steal 6 void energy by stunning the killer"? This comes to you via regular gameplay, just stun the killer, you got your void energy eventually, without any need to game the system by refusing to repair gens and getting yourself killed.
Or "Hide within meters of the killer for x seconds"? As long as you're playing cautiously instead of recklessly, this happens anyway. You're not throwing the game by hiding form the killer, that's insane. But it comes quicker if you play in a certain way, notably if you run a hook rescue build and line up for rescues by hiding nearby the hook when the opportunity arises. There is no need to spend the entire game stalking the killer.
None of these are problems with the challenges, they're problems with the players. If someone would rather forfeit the game in order to focus solely on a challenge instead of just letting it happen naturally, you can't stop them.

No you will break a total of 50 totems for this tome

Whenever they come up with something different, I've always read someone complaining about it, so it starts to become a bit limited.
Personally, I like the ones which maybe takes a few games to complete, but doesn't force a throw, such as Emblem tasks. But there are opportunities for different takes on challenges:
Cleanse 1 totem, 2 games in a row. (So it's not really wasting loads of time in a trial searching, but encourages a secondary objective)
Complete a trial, using [perkname]. (In this case, survivors don't have to use the perk to complete 4 gens for example, but just have it equipt as part of a line-up and escape/ get 3k+)
Find the relic. (Locate a chest or random item within the trial, which in turn gives you a specialised item, or provides a unique bit of lore)
Alternatively, DBD could introduce things such as a randomizer, where a challenge might be to use it and play with that setup, but if they succeed then they could get a mixed reward that may have Iri Shards, BP, Rift Shards, or even a trickle of Auric Cells or an Iridescent item or add-on, so it makes it more enticing to try it out.
I've rambled a little, but I am rather tired and also there are quite a few, new ideas, but it's currently limited by what is available within the mechanics and coding of the game.

Point at the killer while in chase 10 times
do this in one game
1 -
didn't they actually have a 'point at the killer' challenge once?
I vaguely remember something like that

i highly doubt that was thing lol
would be silly if not weird

Absolutely is a thing, still available in the archives as far as I'm aware.
The challenge is called "That's Rude" and you need to point in the killers direction within 5 seconds of premonition going off, and to do it twice in a single trial.
Not sure what tome, I want to say it's about a year ago?
