Kill Switch update: We have temporarily disabled The Legion due to an issue that allows for infinite power spam. The Legion will be re-enabled once this issue is fixed.

why make it so easy for hackers?

Its so hard to report someone.

Where the hell even is the report button? This anon mode is a nightmare !

If you dont want people harrassing you on pc, steam has so many privacy options they cant even see your profile.

I am trying to report someone for hacking, I have video proof. You make it so difficult to do it, Im considering just deleting the video and not bothering. I feel like im preparing a court document.

One of the questions on your report website is " Have you reported this player in-game already? " where the hell would I have done that?

    UPDATE;

OK, nevermind. You win anon swf, I give up.

What a joke of a report system you guys have. They move onto the next match, and I am here for 10 mins trying to report, filling out multiple documents, trying to find him on my recently played but cant.. I give up!!

I dont care, let them terrorise the next group and ill just move on. I will be dodging anon people from now on.

The report button can be found by clicking on the escape/sacrificed symbol (I'm not entirely sure but I believe that you don't even have to click, simply being on the right part of the leaderboard should offer a thumbs up and down option), it should open a page where you can give a thumbs up to the player, or report them for various issues. Once you know it's there, it's actually really easy reporting someone even if they're anonymous mode !

As for uploading the file, the easiest way to go about it is to post it on youtube on privated, and link there in the description of the issue. =)

Don't get discouraged, reporting cheaters is a bit of a convoluted practice but once you know how to go about it it's much easier.

I have to agree, the current UI for "finding" the report button is extremely user-unfriendly, to the point of where I think the devs must do it on purpose, to minimize the amount of reports they have to review, there is no other explanation for hiding it.

Every other game I know either has a big "REPORT THIS PLAYER" button in the killcam or player spectator view, or in the leaderboard. Here, in DBD, you first have to take your time to locate the button, when you click on the player's name (which many people actually do first), there doesn't even come up any report button (as in your screenshot, only block).

So many assume you actually CAN'T report a player (especially new players, I known this from a friend). You actually have to press the Escape/Sacrifice icon, which is beyond insane and extremely poor UI design, unfortunately. Can't believe this made it through QA (if there even is any).

These people blaming anonymous mode are trolls, right?

it really didn’t change anything and people act like it’s making it really easier for hackers?

do your research, be REASONABLE with your criticism. The report system has many issues, introduction of anonymous mode isn’t one of them (if at all it made it slightly easier)

yeah i never report, as im not a streamer and apperantly you need video efidence for everything, basicly do the research work for them. I can sing high tones of BHVR, the report system aint one of them though, it feels highly unprofessional and at most its super time intensive to report someone.

Ticket, video efidence, profile ID AND ingame report. Too much effort.

For in-Game chat harassment you don’t need to file an extra support ticket nor provide any evidence as the in-game report will just save the chat log

for pretty much anything else video evidence is needed, yeah.

It does feel like they make it far harder than it should be to report cheaters. I have reported via the in game function but never bothered with uploading vids etc so probably nothing happened as a result

are you so sure about the ingame chat harassement? Because i dont ever feel like clicking the report button does anything in that case but how would i know since you dont got informed if anything happened.

Their report system only tracks the pre and post game chat and puts a flag on the player you're reporting so that when you open a ticket and they ask you "did you report the player in game?" you can say YES and they can check their ID. Anything that happens in the match needs video evidence as they have no way of seeing it by themselves for some reason.

Well, you can’t really track it but yeah, I have seen people say they have been banned/temp banned for this.

also, they have stated they will change the system in 2023 so that you get some kind of feedback on your reports I think

i hope for it, cause right now i really dont know if it does anything. I have seen people state they been penaltyed for "bad internet" but even when harassment is the easyer topic to get people banned for then players still need to do too much work imo for other reports. Like actually having video evidence, now many dbd players are also streamers. Alright. But imagine if it wasnt like that, why would people record their games all the time if they dont upload them?

I completely agree and have given the devs my feedback on this multiple times. But apparently they can’t add a feature where replays get saved on their side automatically because they would need to rebuild and recode the whole system for this? 🫤 idk.

In case you have doubts, here's the official rules, what to report and if you need evidence or not.

I will have a look into that, thanks.

Like others have said, feedback on your reports would be awesome next year, they act so smug when they think theyre going to get away with it.
