How To Make DBD A Better Place
Hello everyone! We always talk about toxicity, and while it's nice to have a good balance of goofing around in a "toxic" way, I think it's just as important to talk about small ways we can make DBD a better place. Let's go!
Giving hatch to the last survivor usually means a lot to them, especially if there was a DC or throw during the game. Having just a little mercy is typically no big deal on the killer's side, but it can still make survivors very happy!
If you close the hatch, it's still not too late to let the survivor leave through the exists. If you're feeling particularly nice you can let them leave through the gates, especially if they leave you an item, which brings us to...
Leaving items for the killer is a sign of humility, or gratefulness. The killer may not keep these items, but it shows you care.
Respecting challenges is also a small way to make survivors happy. Even if you kill them in the end, they helped them reach a goal, so if you see a survivor interacting with a glyph, just pause chase for a moment.
Lastly, be nice in end game chat. Sometimes killers especially feel bullied, so it can mean a lot to go out of your way to be sympathetic and wish them good luck. You can have a "toxic" game and still have wholesome interactions in end game chat. Tell the other team how well they did, or perhaps you see something in common.
At the end of the day, you can play any way you want, and you shouldn't feel pressured into doing a certain thing because it's courteous, this post was just for people who care about this kinda thing. GL!

The only concern is that there is no incentive for the killer to receive in them in terms of numerical gain or loss. (Do I get BP for offering an escape to a survivor?)
The same is true for donating items. It doesn't mean anything, but you lose the points gained from the kill and the survivor gains points for providing the escape.
I understand the desire to make it a better place. But like you said, you can play it any way you want. I also don't think it's TOXIC that they didn't offer a free escape, though.

I think you are right but one piece of advice. Maybe don't put let the last guy leave next to give the killer your brwon tool box. If killer can be cool and let one leave survs can be cool and offer themself to the hook that's actuall comparable.

If you don't care too much about your escapes, which is a bit harder if your escape rate is as miserable as mine, giving a kill to a killer that couldn't get one through the match can be well received as well !
I do it to every beginner Nurse I run into (paying it forward, Nurse players were very nice to me when I was a baby survivor), and generally any killer I like that would otherwise get 0K. If they played fair and I'm not on a discouraging losing streak, I'll wait under a hook as my teammates escape.
Often times, the killer doesn't accept it, but offering doesn't hurt. =)

I usually let last surv go if I'm killer. Like maybe 80-90% of my potential 4ks I do this. I just find 4ks a bit boring and that 4th kill doesn't usually gain me much, whereas a surv it's almost 25% of their total potential score. Only times I don't are if it's for a challenge, adept or the surv has been super toxic/hid all game with no hooks.

Bring back the old fog, then we can talk.

So it's the Killers fault for playing the game....
I did usually give hatch to the last survivor and have been thanked for it... Warm fuzzies all around
But when you get that one Survivor whom comes off as a (word I can't type) then what are you supposed to do about that
Are Killers supposed to take what's given (where's the skill in that)... then getting accused of Tunneling when you haven't gets tiring (to say the least)
But explaining why you decided you camped and tunneled to certain people might yield good results (and some bad... can't win them all)
I guess it comes down to understanding why certain decisions are made... for better or worse

I do that pretty often at the moment.
Because i play both sides and know how ######### this feels.
Spread some love!

Just a few things to keep in mind
Normally if you give a survivor hatch it is the difference between gold and iridescent for emblem progress so dont expect it but be grateful, also many killers have rules about who or why they give hatch, personally I pick you up and wait a second if you wiggle you get the hook, if you dont I may give hatch, especially with the devout emblem bug right now.
The same emblem situation applies to giving the door so unless the killer is already max season rank it may not happen.

Include a stash of weed/E with every copy of the game.

I do all of that as killer. Especially if someone DC's, which I get pretty often just because they see that I'm a Nemesis... I just hook everyone twice and let the other 3 finish their gens, whilst I go around punching or body-blocking my own zombies/breaking walls xD
I had one game where I was mid-chase, kinda lost eyes on the killer, but spotted my glyph... so I stopped to do it and got found by Ghosty... and he just stood there looking at me and my glyph and just meme-ing, it was the funniest thing ever, so I just crouch-walked towards him and told him to hook/kill me, I had my glyph and couldn't care less about escaping lol, and he just let me go... love those interactions man 😂

Seriously, I'm not a big fan of Nemesis, but there is no greater declaration of love than a Nemesis punching his zombies to let you finish your gen <3

Make devs finally get to work on balance, tech aspects, and many other things critical for game process...

Doing things like giving survivors an incentive to leave the match instead of waiting at the exit gate for the killer to come over just so they can bait a swing or show off their DH or t-bag would go a long way.
The same could be said for giving killers an incentive not to bleed people out or hit them while they're on the hook.
People have suggested being able to use the thumbs up feature to award bonus bloodpoints for being a good sport, but for some reason that idea never gets used.
