Stop crying about "soloq"
Before I start my thought, I want to say one fact that some of you may not know: initially the game was only about solo survivors, it did not have a swf mode.
All those people who endlessly cry about the "soloq" must understand one thing. You can change anything in the game, buff solo with information as you like, nerf killers and their perks as you like. This will not affect (to put it mildly) inexperienced players.
Claudette will not stop self-healing during the whole game, and then hide the whole game on the edge of the map, because she is afraid of the game.
Yui will not touch the generator and will continue to open the chests the whole game, because she has an archive.
Dwight won't stop chasing you around with a flashlight trying to get at least one blind.
Michaela won't stop placing her boon totem when there are ALREADY TWO of them on the map.
Feng won't stop dropping the shack palette right after hit at 5 gens.
Nea won't stop dying on the first hook or get disconnected because her first chase only lasted 15 seconds (bc she's so cool).
Jane will still stop resisting on the hook, just because there are three of you left. And no matter that the chances of winning are equal even now, she is not able to look at the situation broadly and fight for victory.
Jeff won't give you his back when you need it.
And in general, survivors will not spend more time in chase, no matter how much information or anything else you give them. They will not begin to understand more about time management and match strategy. These important things lie only on his shoulders, individually.
Most of the time in this game, I was a killer, but lately I play survivors a lot more, most often in solo or duo. And I can say with confidence that when all 4 survivors have at least an average experience in the game, this is most often an easy mod. With the exception of matches against experienced players on the strongest killers of this game. That's why I switched to survivors, I got tired of sweating every game on killers.
Unfortunately, 60-70% of survivors think that the whole gameplay is to keep the m1 on the mouse and complain furiously when they are prevented from doing that. Such players can play 4k hours and be terrible in the chase and have absolutely no idea when and what they need to do, I have met such players. I'm afraid this game is just not for them and they just ruin the experience for other players.
The only thing that annoys me about solo is that my victory depends on the skill of each survivor. Me and the other two can be great players, but one stupid decision by a less experienced player and the whole game can turn around. But this is normal, that's why it is an asymmetrical game. That's how it should be, part of the team is also a team.
It sounds trite, but just get better. Soloq is fine, maybe only basekit kindred is missing. Your personal skill and/or your teammates are not. Here's the truth.

Also only 3 Killers existed back then as well... Bill was only available on PC... but his perks were available on Consoles
There was only 15 maps... 20 perks (give or take)
So ok.... I know what you are trying to say but times have changed

What is your point by bringing these things up though?
Some of the things OP said are correct, especially on the basekit Kindred bit and about solo queue Survivor behavior.
Some things have indeed changed but there are a bunch of things that have remained the same.

Also loops were much better for survivors, shack had 2 windows, sabotages were permanent, trapper traps could be permanently destroyed etc.
Also it shows you play survivor way less then killer. When I buy new killer and play him during day, it's also easy mode and effortless 4k. That does not represent everyone everywhere. Right now killers are stronger then general survivor. And soloQ is significantly weaker then SWF. Sure soloQ is not totally hopeless, but it's not weird to loose 10 games in a row (DC's, tunnel, kill on hook, camped to death, etc)

Cause OP did...
I know that... still things change
Like the Devs having more focus on what's new or what could be in the game rather then fixing what they have... yea I get it
But it comes down to what's new and simple... SWF being a prime example of it
