Why are Survivors so weak-minded lately?
I am mostly killer main (switch to the survivor when I get bored), but honestly, it's astonishing how weak mentally survivors have gotten lately. DCS, giving up on hooks, being entitled to lots of things they don't deserve, and absolutely crying about every little thing.
The most ironic thing is that these survivors lose the game by themselves - it's not even killer playing mean/nasty. There have been so many instances where survivors prematurely give up even if the game is completely winnable from the survivor's side. And then other survivors trash talk killer even though the guy who killed himself is completely at fault for losing a very winnable game. All he had to do was hit an easy skill check for 20 seconds more to win the game for his team.
So what is up with survivors lately? Why are they so easy to give up and easily ruin the game for their teammates?
Maybe killing yourself on the hook should be removed (besides 2nd -> 3rd stage progression), and harsher DC penalties should be implemented?

"fix" this problem and they can go AFK as an alternative

When you've had one too many awful solo games (read: any solo games) it's incredibly easy to see a pattern forming. A Nurse who's already proven herself to have range addons and the PR/DMS fun combo vs solos just isn't winnable, so you'll have more fun going next. Same with the proven Alch Crow Blight who's definitely got OverBrine if how he's been playing is any indication.
Now people that suicide 1st hook vs Sadako I have no idea about, but I'm also well aware that it could have nothing to do with the killer at all. If Meg decides to blow up the gen, urban evade away, and then hide in a Bush for 3 minutes while I get chased on the opposite side of the map, I know that I'm going to be absolutely malding and, again, it just isn't winnable with an anteammate like that. Same if someone sandbags me, especially if they do so early into the match.

The nurse was even stronger in the past and there was even more busted stuff for the killer. And yet survivors wouldn't give up that easily back then.
It's obviously a chain reaction that is caused by some kind of community circlejerk IMO. Or perhaps a large part of the DBD player base is burnt out as there are lots of long-term players by now. The game is very stale due to the base game not changing much.

How many players from 2016/2017 still play frequently? It's much more likely newer players who aren't used to the jank and the bullshit combined further with experienced players who just can't be bothered to put up with it anymore.
I know back in 2017 and 2018 I could go an entire play session of terrible games and leave in a good mood. Now a single terrible game has me closing dbd for the night and playing Coral Island or PVZ2 instead
10 -
So why are you closing DBD now instantly after a bad game?
SoloQ wasn't nerfed in any way during 2022. In fact, SoloQ is even buffed I'd say due to base kit BT. There were many more noobs back then in the past with urban evasion and self-care. I refuse to believe this argument of "nea urban evading" or "meg self-caring in a corner" is what happens in most SoloQ games. It would make sense back then because meta wasn't that fleshed out, but now most survivors run meta builds.

After 6.0.1 they cant press E to win anymore, thats the only reason.

People DC early against Legion quite often too.

Never mind. Have a great upcoming weekend!

Because the game feels significantly more stale to play as survivor than it somehow did in 2020, during which there was a period of like 3 or 4 months where I didn't play any survivor at all because it was so boring.
And there's no way I can just hop skip and switch over to killer now, because I could genuinely get a manicure and dye my hair before I find a single game of Pyramid Head and both of those things would make me far happier than playing DBD
6 -
Based on what? The killer is multitudes more stressful than a survivor, in addition to DBD being 1v4 game, in addition with all stupid gatekeeping done by survivors on how to play the game, in addition to SWF, in addition to...
I can keep going on and on. The killer is just more stressful and requires much more mental fortitude to win games. Survivor is extremely chill and forgiving most of the time.

Honestly I just don't think they want to mend. Make deep wounds and gens more interactive and engaging and you've solved 2 problems in 1 go there

I feel like giving survivors more to do won’t incentivize them to stay in games against Legion.
2 -
No but they sure as ######### won't when you hold a single button for 12 seconds every 40-80 seconds and spend the rest of your time holding the same button in a slightly different place

couple weeks ago i had a streamer dc first down against my pyramid head

They're a troll, I genuinely don't think I've seen them say anything other than "Killers are worse than Survivors in every way" and then refuse to elaborate.

Why wouldn't you stop playing the video game if the video game isn't fufilling the purpose of a video game
4 -
That's literally right now
1 -
You can always change game actually. Instead of ruining your team mates experience ^^ It's literally the no.1 thing I dont stand in this game
playing in a team with a quitter

If it isn't fun and there's no chance of winning, I'm going to deeply consider whether the game is worth playing

I wasn't condoning quitting
I was condoning quitting dbd if it's you're not having fun with it, whether that's after 1 bad match or several
2 -
Quit after the trial. Everyone abandoning mid trial is not respecting other people's time.
If the killer dc survivors won. No one suffers from it.
If a survivor dc/gives up at 5-4 gens you are ruining other 3 people fun. Not the killer. No matter which killer or map is. No matter what's in your head YOU are the problem (for them).
It is also the no. 1 reason why I will never play soloq. Because I cannot control it. It's just too frustrating playing with someone not even trying. It never bothers me a person failing miserably / doing mistakes, but rage quitting always gets me to the point of I just want to report them for bad behavior.

"I'm not responsible for anyone else's fun" is unfortunately a common sentiment among this playerbase
3 -
Again nowhere in my post am I defending people giving up mid match
I'm saying if you stop playing after 1 bad game, then it is completely justified because DBD feels like a chore to play at that point

Removing killing yourself on hook will just result in more DCs- or if they don't want a penalty, AFKing and doing nothing until they're dead. There is utility in being able to attempt escape / not attempt struggle and I don't think there's any benefit to losing it when people who want out will just find another method.

Yeah, yeah, there, there....👋

Another generalization of all Survivors in a negative light ? Great ! That's nothing short of the 4rth or 5th time this week, and we're only Friday morning. What a treat !
2 -
Ignore them, 80%+ of their posts are "killer are worse than survivor in everything". It's spamming at this point.

It's a video game, not a job where you get payed to entertain people.
If I'm not having fun, I leave and go do something else. And DBD is not a fun game. Sadly it's additive. If it wasn't everyone would have stopped playing around the time original legion was released

That's quite a bold statement. Unfortunately posts like this have heavy bias that doesn't actually mean you care about something, you're fueling an us v them mentality
1 -
It's called "Lose streak" which leads to "tilt".
From there - Dc's, suicides on hooks, sabo the team, being pissed at the killer (for no reason).
Dear survivors: If you're tilted after a lose streak, please take a brake from a game. Relax and chill.
Your teammates don't want you to play a game while tilted.
2 -
IDK if it's an archive thing, where people are just there to do their archives and get out of the game, be it by any means... But I've had several SoloQ matches back to back, where people DC on 1st down, or either instantly unhook you in front of the killer, which leads to getting tunneled, hooked again, unhooked instantly again, hooked a 3rd time. Or they simply don't unhook any of the teammates....
So I switched to playing killer, because that IS right now fun, and it's not stressful! Even in my killer games I see the same behaviour..
As to what's going on? Who knows probably something in the fogwater 🤷♂️

That's good advice. You'll get your teammates killed if you do that.
Furthermore, I've noticed survivors that DC when I farm before they even notice I'm farming. I'm planning on maxing three categories and only taking a hit on sacrifice (8 hooks so nobody dies) which means that, unless they hide in a corner, they'll have good points in all four categories.
Even if I'm farming I'll still alternate hooks, I'm obviously not camping and over 95% of the time I do this I've played a BPS or flan. I still see survivors DCing mid match even though they will escape anyway if my goal is to farm
They're probably tilted and because they're not sticking around they just lost out of a minimum of 50 to 60K BP plus points from any queue bonuses and any BP offerings they played.

Like, I get what you are saying, but being on the team against really strong killers, it just honestly sucks when someone gives up straight away. Leaving you in a 3v1 situation after they get downed cause they don't enjoy getting 1st downed is just silly. Sometimes games have unbearable killers, but I have had games where we have turned it around and won even though we didn't have good odds. Survivors who make matches harder and give up like they are entitled to an easy match are my least favorite thing in this game, and the sole reason for me, besides tunneling killers, it's one of the big reasons solo q is so much worse now.
