Changes to the flashlight
So with the new flashlight changes for newer players. I think it is time to rethink lightborn. Maybe it should be on a cooldown. With a lot more newer survivors running flashlights, you are going to get even more killers running lightborn which will negate the reason you are making the changes in the first place!

Lightborn is fine the way it is, if killers want to waste a perk slot of the weakest item in the game, they can go right ahead. 1 less regression perk to deal with.

Lightborn is fine it dont need a nerf

Lightborn is more than okay in my books !

i guess im not getting my point across. They mad a change to flashlights to make them more viable to newer players, but with lightborn being used way more as a reaction the change will be worse than the original.

I wouldn't say that negates the reason behind the change at all. Lightborn is and always has been a counter to flashlights. The fact that flashlights might be easier for a newer player to pick up and learn does not change the fact that Lightborn still wins in a game of rock paper scissors.

If you're dedicating 1/4 of your build to exclusively deal with 1 singular item then it better be damn good at dealing with that item

All hail our lord and saviour Lightborn 😎
Down with the heretics

i thought the same of old Iron Will

And I disagree with the Iron Will nerf babes so I don't quite know the point you're making

please don't be like the blind changes of the ancient times

i meant you gave the same explanation i would have given to another perk that was also meant to counter a single aspect in game (sound while injured).

I guess my worry is that most killers do not worry with light born because 90 percent of the survivor base cant use flashlights effectively, timing being a major part of that. I'm assuming there will be a huge spike in light born users when this drops. I just don't see the point in a perk that completely counters an item(i know it always has, but was never used maybe 1 in 100 games would i come across a lightborn user)

thats what it was like on PTB, but apparently it wasn't intended (thank god)

Well, I think there's a slight mismatch in severity here.
Lightborn counters the weakest item in the game. Iron Will countered one of the single most important tools killers have.
Iron Will absolutely had it coming, Lightborn doesn't.

This Flashlight-Buff is a slap into every killers face. Every dog can perform a flashlight-save now. Just activate it and u get the save, there is nothing a killer can do now if the survivor is open field. It doesnt matter if u react and look up, shake around or whatever.

Killers only have 4 perk-slots and with the Killswitch of Perks like Ruin (why is this thing a hex anymore? 100% is nothing, selfdestruction after 1 surv dead) or Pop, while Toolboxes, Brand New Parts and a lot of (new) Gen-Speed-Up-Perks ingame, there is no space for it if u dont want to lose by default.
The new Flashlight-Mechanic is a free Blindsave for everyone. U killed a broken Mechanic with the locker, but installed a far more powerful Ability instead.
Killers should not NEED Gen-Defense? Well, nerf Toolboxes and stop bringing in Gen-Speed-Up-Perks every chapter.

Tell that to the last 10 survivors who tried and failed to give me a flashlight save. 🤣🤣🤣

I’m fine with the killers having lightborn the way it is. In out of 100 games, I’d say I bring a flashlight maybe 5 times. I run flashbang maybe 10 times and I bring blast mine maybe 30 times.
If I run blast mine the most, I’m still getting the stun from it without the blind, and the killer had to use a full perk spot to protect from half of my perks effect. I’d say I’m coming out on top there.

So what you're saying is: Now that the devs have made flashlights more effective, let's also make the best defence against them less effective.
Yeah, that'd be balanced & fair.

why run lightborn when you can bring franklins?

Why run Franklins when you can keep them all in madness with doctor!

CoH is fine, it doesn't need another nerf .... oh, sorry, wrong thread.
