So after 30 killers, you still think shorter cooldowns will do the trick.

Come on BHVR.You're not gonna sell much of a B tier killer. Why are you making the same mistakes over and over...

I’m more concerned that Healing Poultice and Flint and Steel got nerfed into the ground.

Personally even if knight did not come out yet, I can't wait for his remake already. It's such a shame and wasted potential that this killer has now :-(

If optimal playstyle of this killer is let guards patrol your very nose just to disable this loop, the gameplay will be boring very quickly. All the pathing and all the fancy things that guards have with 3 different types that have their own strengths... And it will all be wasted, because optimal play is to waste 0s by defining their pathing. Real shame. Huge missed opportunity.

Buffing guards patrol/interactions was good move, but it's like doing a correct step when all you have is 1 leg. Adding minimal pathing time would make the killer so much more interesting (even if it meant decreasing guards timers even more).

    Overall huge disappointment :-(

Personally I think it'd be interesting to have a new way to killing survivors and it might even be funny when they die from guards like they can from Nemesis zombies

These changes do nothing to address Knight's biggest flaw: the best way to play him is as a discount artist. In fact they enforce it. Disappointing.

i'm excited for his release but i'm certain he is just artist 3.0 sadly. we'll see

    yeah I am sad :(

that's kinda feeling my guess for what would happen. I was like,,, eh the guard are not amazing but the add-on... they're kinda good and that is rare sight in dbd to have decent add-on for killer. the add-on would help knight be more playable... so it is sad that they were nerfed to the ground. He might be worse coming out of ptb. I am also uncertain of the map of realm change. yes the guard spawns faster and get radius faster... but lower radius... somewhat hurts? Its kinda his best add-on right now because radius felt really small at base-kit. it would been nice to have 1/4 or 2/4 of add-on base-kit. I was specifically wanting to play knight because of add-on were really fun to use in PTB. I kinda feel like otz over-reacted to it. perhaps it would be better if add-on made 1-2 survivors scream randomly and aura add-on made 1-2 survivors aura be read when summoning x guard.

I think the Knight is overall worse off from these changes. Those two info perks would have been so useful to help Knight find survivors to chase, but with that nerfed into the ground, and complex pathing still trash, he’s only useful for his teachable perks.

100% agree with you, especially when the killer is not even out.

That probably would’ve been in the post PTB notes if they did which they weren’t.

@Ginnypig Changing a cooldown can make a MASSIVE difference, just think about DS for example: time nerfed by 40%, and now you aren't scared too much of eating it!

yeah. its too bad changes were not more mild like reveal 1-2 random survivors with aura, 1-2 random survivor scream when the assassin guard is summoned. He'll be pretty similar from ptb, likely the map add-on(Lower guard detection) change and the guard summoning time+guard detection time decrease will counter-act each other and produce no change at all.

It doesn't really change how the Knight is still basically Artist, how this killer seemingly has little depth, and how you can't control which guard you get.

Forgive me if I sound rude in this post but I feel the need to respond to this.

Thing is, this community thinks "fun and interesting" when it comes to Killers is getting results, victories as them, or doing cool things like Huntress sniper shots. Or healthy counterplay. Knight has none of these, seemingly. No room for cool plays, no results against good Survivors, counterplay is shift+w again...

Knight still seems weak and according to the news, this might just be a dev team vision issue. People have given feedback that Knight needs new abilities (which thankfully Knight is now able to cancel patrols early), but other ideas weren't taken into account. It's like the dev team thinks Knight is mostly fine and only needs a few number changes + being able to cancel patrols early.

(I also understand that the dev team has buffed the banners as well so Survivors cannot just shut down his power with ease, but 10 seconds isn't a difficult amount of time to loop a Guard for.)

3 big reasons why people buy chapters are attractiveness of the characters, the Killer's strength, and perks for the Survivor and Killer. Is the team counting on Vittorio fans to sell chapters? Because the perks seem mediocre (Vittorio's best perk is Fogwise with the other two needing buffs, and you guys have just nerfed Knight's perks), Knight still seems like Artist 2.0 with a lot of wasted potential.

I understand that things are discovered over time, but this seems like another bad chapter launch with a potentially extremely add-on/perk reliant Killer. I have a strong feeling that only negative things will be discovered about this Killer, like being easy to counter (shift+w), or his power being oppressive in bad ways like Legion's while still remaining weak overall. I don't see public opinion shifting favorably on this Killer, which might be what the dev team is expecting to happen. It'll get worse before it gets better.

However, I can always be wrong about this...

And you've mentioned fine tuning the balance... Sadako has been out for several months now, and the only things that have really been discovered is that she's still weak after PTB buffs, you need to play with a very unfun to vs build and ignore hooking to do well against solid Survivors, and that Call of Brine is now meta. I had hoped that she would be changed after 3 months like other Killers were, yet she seemingly never received that treatment. It's very strange.

See thats where the problem lies. Im all about having fun, but you are not when you cannot compete with the current suvivor meta. Sure you might have fun for 10 games sending guards, but youll figure out fast that you want to win a game as a killer, or at least have a chance.

It might just be me, but i like abit competitive gameplay. Im not into casual-getting-bashed-into-no-power-role-whatsoever.

Survivor gameplay has been the same for 6 years, you NEED a killer that can compete with 6 years of survivor knowledge.

To be fair, the huge problem isn't exactly the way Knight will release.

It's more about the fact that we all feel the game is being half abandonned. Yes, there are new DLCs coming but everytime there is an issue, it takes at the very least an entire year to fix. Sadako has been released soon a year ago, still no changes. You promised to work on Camping and tunneling last year, it got stronger. No fix whatsoever.

I'm sad that the only changes happening in dbd are economic ones. DLCs to sell. But free updates for the game to be better? Rarely happens. Yeah the bots are cool. But it's not what the game needed the most.

Survivors can still see the circle of the guards which makes it way to easy to just hold w. And even with that new mini buff to his numbers you can still place a guard right on top of a survivor and he wont get chased by it. All in all just a boring killer i wont buy.

this is the main issue with the knight right now. his power is interesting and in theory could be really fun for both sides, but as it stands the way it's designed removes most of the potential strategizing you could do with his power. if you try to play into the macro aspect of it, it usually fails to work out, and you lose.

Thx for the perks i guess

    What is this B-Tier nonesense?

I’m over here holding W and escaping every single Knight. He’s obviously D-Tier. I haven’t played against a single Knight that came remotely close to a four kill.

Love to get rolled every game while trying to get adept on this low tier killer. Even if you do the optimal play of instadropping your guard, the survivors just run to any of the other 50 loops with pallets on the new map.

Yes the brain dead play is always the correct play. Hold W for blood points.
