Shattered Square PSA
After hearing some rumblings of something funky going on with the pallets in the Shattered Square map, I decided to investigate using the new bots!
I counted a little over twenty pallets on the map. Likewise, as can be seen in this video, whatever logic they use to ensure double pallets don't spawn is broken as they frequently spawn not only together, but chaining into other strong structures.
I'm curious to know if this only affects Shattered Square or if the larger pallet spawn logic is broken across other maps as well.
Thoughts?

Farmer John has a theory that pallet spawn logic just isn’t applying: Every place where a pallet can spawn, a pallet is spawning. So far, I think I’d believe that.

It's an interesting theory but there are spots in this video where pallets could spawn but don't. For the time being though, I don't see any other explanation.
I'm moving on to other maps to try to see if it affects them as well or if it's just Shattered Square.

I sincerely hope that's bugged because that's a hilariously busted map otherwise. Long wall into safe pallet into shack. That's some Fractured Cowshed level of imbalance.

I haven't noticed more pallets when in a public match. Could it be bot mode gives more pallets for practice? I haven't seen video from public match, just people in custom going around.

It is the same in public matches.
I didn't count but I did see double pallets.

After some further testing, this bug appears to only be affected Shattered Square.
I didn't test every map. I did go to Blood Lodge, Badham IV and Family Residence. There were no more pallets than usual nor were they any closer together than usual.

This is especially worrying. The fact that pallets don't actually spawn everywhere they could spawn might suggest the logic isn't actually broken. But maybe there is just a certain aspect of pallet logic broken on the map.
Needless to say, if this map is working as intended, that would probably be a new low for the map design team, and I didn't think that was even possible after Eyrie of Crow. Someone would have to seriously explain to me how a set team of developers could manage to stay so bad and oblivious at how to design maps properly for so long. Like this is just so, so bad.

Exactly when are the devs going to start paying you and @GoodBoyKaru for all that y'all do for this game?

I'm going to slap this video onto every Facebook post I see defending this map where they're calling Killers bad for pointing out the pallet issue

After like 5 years of not using the forums i am back to say I just played on the new map. A nea dropped 12 pallets in arow all around that central area. The amount of pallets on this map are insane.

Feel free.

Just played a match on dead dog saloon. Same thing, I think every pallet that could spawn did. Every entrance to the main building except the front was closed.

What's balance?
8 connected strong pallets to a shack with perfect window placement seems fine!

I hope they trash this map. I know they won’t but I can hope.

Nah, GoodBoyKaru does way more than me and is way nicer too lmao

That's normal.
Dead Dawg doesn't have too much pallet variation and all of the breakable walls are guaranteed spawns.

Same.
It still kinda hurts my eyes to look at. Scratch marks are ridiculously difficult to see and the pallets blend in and jumpscare me :(

Geez, this is basically a reskinned version of The Game at this point. The map looks super cool but that amount of pallets is ridiculous.

It's actually better because of how open it is.
