While I enjoy the new killer concept, there are 2 major issues. His Ai power is janky and makes anti-loop worse than The Artist. The second issue is the bigger of the 2. I thought we were moving past the age of killers that thrive off of camping hooks but now we have a killer who can still do gen patrol without ever leaving the hook. While I hate camping in general, with other killers at least they have to make a choice. They either confirm a killer through camping and tunneling or they keep gens from getting progressed. Now we have a killer that simply has to down someone and stay at hook while still halting gen progress. Just when I think the game is heading back in a good direction again, they slap us in the face again.

Update: 4 hours later

Nearly every game today has been Knight. I had 1 legion, 1 oni, and 1 wesker match so far. Every Knight game as been the exact same. Someone gets chased, shift w for awhile until downed, then killer camps. Say what you will about tactics this and play better that. The fact still stands that this killer is nothing but a glorified hook magnet. This all boils down to how terrible his power is in chase which forces a boring and uneventful camp-a-thon.

This is a fair point. I 100% want camping and tunneling nerfed, further, and I still want that, but at the same time, maps like the new map really do not help at all, and I can understand when killers camp and tunnel on maps like this new one. It's honestly ridiculous how the devs have not yet nerfed camping in any way, despite that tactic being buffed after the 6.1.0 update, yet we get maps like the new map that hugely discourage killers to not camp and tunnel, and play normally.

Like, I just can't quite understand why the devs can't understand that we need killers to be encouraged to not camp and tunnel, and be discouraged to camp and tunnel. I was hopeful after the basekit BT got buffed, but that hope is disappearing again.

They have nerfed camping though. Do you remember the old days when Bubba could endlessly hold his chainsaw up? It was really bad back then.

I agree. The new map is definitely wow to over bearing with loops and pallets. Its actually insane how poorly designed the map is. I want to make clear a couple of things that people have commented about. Yes i remember old bubba. And yes, i know they have nerfed camping. The intent of my post is that with the last killer, they actually made a killer that added to the pool of killers that are viable. If you know how to play killer, you can use Wesker to ouplay loops and feel rewarded in chases. But with the new killer, he is so weak outside of camping that you just feel forced into that playstyle. So now we have another killer, much like bubba and hag, where camping is highly rewarded.

As far as an all time high, i meant what i said. Ive been playing for quite awhile. As the perks and meta change, so too does killer and survivor tactics. However, over my experience (prior to this chapter), a vast majority of my matches have been camp fests. With the new chapter being released, and everyone trying him out, most of my matches now and for the next few weeks, will be against this killer. As, stated before, because of how weak Knight is in chase, this means that the majority of my matches will be camp fests. Also with the influx of new players or returning for a chapter, they usually play a weak killer game which makes them feel forced to camp. And so the camping wheel keeps turning.

Yeah, camping needs to be nerfed along with tunneling but all the Knight seems to be good at is camping.

Hook defense is an obstacle to overcome, not a problem to be patched out.

I'm not normally one to camp but I tried playing the Knight for the first time today and it became clear pretty quickly that my best move was to have the guards patrol the hook. Like, it seemed like such a no-brainer to do that that I felt like I'd be stupid not to.

I agree that it's a weird choice to introduce a killer whose super power is camping/guarding stuff when the game seemed to be moving away from that play style.

There's nothing special about Knight's camping. When the unhook happens, the guard despawns. It's a built-in countermeasure. His camping also comes nowhere near Leatherface's or Myers'. So what's the big idea?

exactly, unhooking makes the guard disintegrate, camping as knight is not much better than camping as any one else and doesn't even slightly compare to camping as Leatherface

The guards immediately dispel upon initiating a unhook. Devs thought of camping and added a counter measure.

All the knights so far i've gone against have been campers and tunnelers, but that being said this new map is just another garden of pain...

Why is it so hard to make balanced SMALL map for both sides to enjoy? Why have all the maps from artist era to this been heavily survivor sided?

This killer is butt cheeks with the camping and tunneling but this map is even worse. Please make some changes to the map design department. Add some killer mains there too <3

All that being said..i dont like the new killer. His ability to proxy is too good.

They better they hope they add a light killer main, because if it was me I'd nitpick every little thing.

Yes I am aware that the guards disappear on unhook. The problem lies in the fact the the best gameplay for Knight is to camp the hook along with the guards. All the Knight has to do is not swing and force the surv into an unhook grab or chase them at hookk until guard gets first hit. And yes i am aware of hook and tunneling tactics for survivors. My main point, which no one has debunked, is the fact that the devs have created another weak killer that thrives of camps.

You can nerf these two Strategies, maybe you need to, but at the same point, u need to nerf Med-Kits and Toolboxes too.
