Are the bots……..learning?!
Maybe it’s just my perception, but the custom match bots seem to have improved significantly! They’re still not great, but they’re better.
Day 1: They run to edge map and throw every pallet they find on the way there. Once they get there, they just straight sprint against the wall.
Day 3: They change direction when it makes sense and try to hide behind the Z-wall. Sometimes they play the window.
Today: They actually loop tiles! They fake the pallet and try to buy some time rather than just throwing it immediately. They still use “W-Key” as their primary strategy, and edge map still occurs, but they seem to be running with more purpose. They’re also hiding a little more, rather than darting off at the first sign of terror radius. And now for the big one….up until today, I have NEVER seen a bot use a vaccine or med-spray. Now they do!
*disclaimer, these observations apply to a couple bots per match, not all of them. There are still some knuckle-draggers in each match!
So are they getting better? Are they “practicing” as more and more custom matches use them? Is there some sort of AI machine learning going on here? If so, BHVR, were you careful to make sure they don’t become self-aware!?

I would love if it these bots were trained using real players data and updated, either statically, either by using some genetic algorithm (for client-side tuning).
I doubt it's the case though.
Player data would mean they are recording us. If they did finding speed-hackers and teleporters would be so easy for them.

Interesting idea but I've massacred heaps of bots and didn't notice any improvement from them.

Bots seem the same to me from when I played a lot against them on the PTB. They definitely do better on certain maps/tiles or against certain killers, particularly range ones. Sometimes if they get a flashlight they can blind you with surprising accuracy, sometimes a couple of times within one chase.
Also they've been using vaccines/items since the PTB as well.

Sort off, i noticed they get stuck against walls pretty easily, sometimes they don't go for save, they will never cleanse you hex if you just get close once in a while. they duck in chases which usually backfires for them, They do not avoid 3 gening themselves and they dont know how to take advantage of some loops.

Tomorrow : They learned to play against 3 gen , lead chases away from gens or to team-mates to take a hit , abuse flashlights , 99 the gates , successfully save a face-camped team mate , loop killers for 5 gens .............
In two days : The know how to use perks and offerings now.

i always bring a mori offering to custom games. (because what else would i bring? maybe that fog thing XD )
in order to get to 2 hook states though i have to travel onto the opposite end of the map so they go and unhook, this particular one hasnt changed.
however i felt like they are doing gens more efficient than when they would in the beginning? but maybe it was because i played nurse my very first time, not having the add on that shows where your blinks go and didnt got many hits, thus not many hooks. Second match wasnt very diffrent, i had the add on though, but its still strange, the nurse really gets stuck on some tiles. So maybe them being fast was only me struggling.

"Sometimes they play the window" is something Hens333 would say. Play the pallet! Hahahah

I was trying out the knight's hex, and i'm pretty sure they cleansed that quite quickly, which was surprising. Even plaything and pentimento which i tried against them later on they eventually cleansed. With cross map swarms they react quite quickly but if anyone else is around they just sit on the gen while swarmed which was a bit odd.
As Dredge they will lock every single locker, if you teleport in front of them during a chase they know before you've arrived at that locker, Nightfall doesn't affect them in terms of inconvience. Stupid with the revenant teleport though. Actually teleported to a random locker and grabbed a Meg, was miles away so not sure what propted that.

I can barely find them with knights guards. They hold w and almost always run the opposite way to his patrol. They're useless at hiding in lockers though.

Woah woah woah!!! This sounds like the start of Cyberdine systems!!! We need to kill switch those things now! I’d be sad if I were murdered by a terminator that look like Dweet!!

When you see a Dwight named Skynet, it’s time to go.

I don't know about learning, but they are preprogrammed to know where Hatch is. XD

I had this issue testing out Ghost Face, they always knew where I was before I could even get into a position to even stalk, let alone be revealed/exposed by them. The same thing happened while playing Sadako, they just knew where I was going to teleport to before I even got there. Like I don't mind a little bit of artificial challenge, this game mode would be boring as heck without it. But I do not like how much they "cheat".

stealth killers/ perks are useless against them, while they can dodge a lot of things and even blind you
they tend to get stuck in a lot of places, and they get extremely confused against knight and twins

From what I can tell, each survivor has a set of profiles that can be pulled from when you load a bot. Each profile has a set of behaviors they follow. Some are pretty simplistic, others more intelligent. Some are downright aggressive, and some very closely match player behavior.
I played a bot game with one of the Jakes (05?) where the guy didn't work a gen in three trials I played vs him. I know, because I was playing Plague and he never got sick unless I sprayed a pallet or window ahead of him during a chase. But he did stealth around and pull other bots off hooks and heal them.
Meg 03 seems to be a decent runner/looper, while Zarina 02 is a pallet-throwing mo fo. One of the Mikaela profiles is pretty good with a flashlight, while another Mikaela profile is horrible with it.
I've even had some BM me after throwing a pallet.
I've not tested yet if there's a correlation between MMR of the killer you're playing and the type of bots that will spawn, but it's pretty clear that each survivor profile is at least somewhat distinct.

oh thats interesting. Makes me wish you could actually choose the survivors manually and their profiles.
