The thing that gets me is they took the time to adjust its wording. But didnt bother to fix it.
It really annoys me because its literally the only challenge I have left in the game. Surely they could say to some guy, hey can you work on the quick thinking bug after lunch and hed have it done by clockoff time.
If it was rewarding us the BP but not completing and we could farm it, it would be fixed the day it was reported.

I just mentioned peanits and mandy here just in case its not known by them and thats why it hasnt been fixed yet but i think its just low on their priority list at the moment

I'm on Xbox and it also doesn't work. Also to add, I don't see 10 seconds I see {2} instead of the seconds listed in the description.

Their priority is pumping out skins, and fixing BP exploits / bugs
As I said, if this was a bug that gave us 50k bp everytime we did it but it didnt count, it would be fixed back in july.

Their biggest worry is OH NO DONT MAKE A DOUBLE POST ABOUT IT!! WE GOTTA KEEP THE BUG FORUMS CLEAN!!!!

Worst part is that more and more tome challenges are now bugged as well and not conpleting or progressing... its annoying

I know I had wondered if they were waiting until the tome challenge rework (being able to select two challenges, one for each role) because they were worried about more breaking, but that update has came and went. My guess at this point is that there's something in the code causing a bunch of bugs in challenges, and they're working on solving the root issue (hopefully!)
My other guess, with this challenge specifically, is that it broke when dredge came out because of changes to locker coding. There was the developer update post today that mentioned they're removing the ability to get locker blind saves. Maybe once that goes into effect, they'll be able to work on the part of the locker code that works with this challenge.
But I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the fact that this challenge isn't a top priority for them at the moment. It's incredibly frustrating for those of us who are trying to complete it, but I know there's a lot more pressing bugs they're dealing with at the moment. My hope is to keep commenting every now and then so they see this thread is still active.

I don't think they would have for the ptb. When I played earlier, I couldn't even access the archives on the ptb. And I'm pretty sure I was able to the last few ones I've played, so maybe they are working on it?
I do wish they would at least list it under the known bugs, along with the other archive challenges that are bugged. Or even just a blanket "several archive challenges will not complete." Just. Something to acknowledge that they're aware of it beyond the "acknowledged" status from months ago.

I mean there is a list of fixed bugs for this update that are not connected to new content, like female survivors not making sound when falling or something about missing letters in a chat so I assumed that fixing a task from archives would end up in that list as well.
And nothing about it in "Known issues" section either so that makes me wondering if they're even aware that there is a problem with the task (even that 1st post about it was acknowledged in August). I would think that since July someone would take a note, especially that this thread is in "Bug reporting" section...

Still waiting for this to be fixed. This and the other locker challenge in tome 6 are the only 2 keeping me from 100% game completion. (Steam is already 100%).
PLEASE. I am literally losing sleep over this. (I have anxiety issues, I am aware)

It's also been acknowledged back then. Still no fix. Either they know there's a bug and don't know how to fix it or I have no idea what's going on with this

Well for me it at least says says within 10 seconds now instead of "{2}"
So they did *something* at least with the challenge

I noticed this too and tested it. Unless I'm doing something wrong, I still don't think it's working. We had an early dc, so the killer farmed with us. I tried hopping in a locker right after the chase music started as well as after it said I had escaped the chase. Still didn't complete the challenge for me.
I'm crossing my fingers for the next bug fix patch, but I'm also starting to lose hope a little with this.

Another bug fix patch, another no fix on this
It pisses me off when I email them and say this is literally the only challenge in the game I havent got because of a bug, can you complete it for me they say no. Even when I say dont give me the BP, just complete it.

Still broken, but hey who cares right? Not like we paid money for this game, and not like I have spent hundreds of dollars on cosmetics. Why would I care about a broken challenge when I have every challenge in the game complete besides two broken ones.

Yes, I can confirm too! Both "Quick Thinking" in Tome 4 and "Self Preservation" in Tome 6 are fixed as of patch 6.5.0

I can confirm as well that they are both working! Finally, tome 4 and 6 are completed for me :)
I had a theory a long time ago that they were waiting to fix these until they got all the archive updates taken care of because of coding issues (as in, they didn't want to rebreak them and would rather just fix them all in one go). I have no idea if now that the new archive update is out (the one where you see progress during the match) if that's why they fixed it, if it was coincidence, or if the code worked itself out in the magical way dbd code sometimes does.
Regardless, I'm very happy to finally have these done!
