Small idea to buff Decisive Strike
Decisive Strike:
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike activates for the next 40/50/60 seconds:
- ( change) -When the Killer grabs or picks it up, during any time the Assassin is carrying it, press the skill button to trigger a skill test, if you hit the Killer will drop you and be stunned for 3 seconds.
- This change is to be able to use it when the Killer passes near a pale or a window, in order to take advantage of the stun.

Assassin = Killer
Basically, they want the skill check for DS to pop up at the survivors choosing so they can wait for an opportune moment to stun the killer, perhaps near a pallet or window.

Just revert it back to 5 seconds and it is fine again, 3 seconds is just riduclously low and making this change would be kind of annoying from a killer point of view since you don't even immediatly know if the person has Ds.

If you're smart with your movement from the time you've gained from the stun, you get a 10s+ lead on the killer. 5 seconds is nearly double that, hence why it was nerfed.

The problem is the 3 seconds starts before you can start to run, so it is probably rather 2-2.5 seconds than 3... And those 10 s only apply if the killer does not have anything to catch you before: Demogorgons Shred, Nemesis Tentacle, Huntress Hatchet, Nurses Blink, Blights Rush and so on... Sure against an M1 Killer it is still ok but you need to keep in mind that the perk can only be used once Head on has the same stun duration as DS and can be used as often as you want. I just don't think once 3 seconds is adaquate.

Back when Enduring still affected the DS stun, the devs promised that the stun timer would be reduced back down to 3 seconds, should they removed Enduring's ability to affect it. That is because DS only ever became 5 seconds in the first place because of that interaction. It took them years after nerfing Enduring's secondary effect to finally fulfill that promise.
5 seconds of DS with no means to mitigate it is too long.

But 3 seconds is just too little on the other side, nobody runs the perk anymore and even if they do it is mostly not a threat at all... Like I said, the stun is basically less than head-on because of the dropping animation and so on... I think the 5 seconds was ok.
Sometimes things start of as a bug but become a feature once you come to the conclusion it could actually be fine.

I don't agree with this change, if this were implemented everyone would just wait until the killer is about to hook to maximize the time wasted, or as long as they can while still remaining in a safe area. Now a survivor with DS can run to comp corner, you pick them up and have to carry them to a hook, which also brings them closer to a loop, so they wait until the last possible second, stun you, and can run to a nearby pallet. Agonizing for most M1 killers, and you still go down just as fast afterward versus slinger/huntress/nurse/blight.

It's definitely hard to balance DS. I agree that against certain killer's it's laughably bad, but I don't really know what could be done.
One thing I've seen people suggest is disabling the killer's power for 8 seconds, so that after the stun ends they cannot use their power for 5 more seconds. I think something like that could be PTB'd - It will feel bad, but a killer like myers/ghostface/trapper won't use it to catch up anyway, while a blight or nurse will now have to walk to you for a bit, and against huntress/deathslinger you have time to run for cover?

It's a good idea, it doesn't affect the worst killers too much but it does affect the best ones. I prefer this to the 5 seconds coming back.

Nobody runs the perk anymore? The survivors I'm playing with or against would like to have a word with you then, because trials without there being at least one DS equipped are still uncommon here.

I know a lot of players play low level dbd, but trust me ds is in a great spot. You cannot just run one perk anymore to influence your escape you'll need to run a combination of perks to get full use. Off the Record, DS, Dead Hard, and then adrenaline.

It's been 5 seconds with no means of mitigating it for the longest time and it wasn't a problem because it is the most avoidable perk in the game. A competent killer player will get hit with it ONCE and never again. The full control of this perk is in the killer's hands.
The only thing it needed was post 5th gen deactivation, that was the only thing that was still unfair to the killer. It honestly could've traded that off with a BUFF to stun time and it'd still be one of the fairest perks in the game. Uniquely, DS is really, really well focused on its one and only job: To temper how incredibly over-efficient tunnelling is.
With that said:
This is not a permissible change, as it could mean that the survivor can hold off on triggering DS until the killer has wasted enough time reaching a hook, thereby -massively- expanding the time cost of DS.
Just put the stun time to 7 seconds and make it work off both unhooks. Done.

IIRC, the landing animation is a little over a second long, so the effective time gain for the survivor went from... I think it was 3.8 seconds to 1.8. It was an extremely egregious nerf.

I'd like to see it returned to 5 seconds.
As it stands, DS is hardly an inconvenience. I don't see many people running it nor is it impactful when I get hit.

I have maybe seen 10 ds in the last few months... At most Of the record far more often...

Reverting it back to 5 seconds simply hurts killers with no mobility the most while having basically no effect on killers with high mobility
Only way I can think of atm to keep it some what consistent across all killers, is for it to also disable powers for a short amount of time.

Ok then how about a different stun duration for killers? For example Nurse is rather fragile anyway... So what if stunning her just stuns her for an additional 40-50 %?

Because thats rather unrealistic that the devs would have to look at every single killer that already exists and every single new killer that comes out
This here hurts killers like Nurse and Blight who arent punished too hard for their mistakes to begin with, and doesnt really have an effect on killers with no mobility
