Can someone please explain what the issue is with Kindred as described in today's Bugfix Patch?
In the patch notes for today's bugfix patch, under "Known Issues" it says:
- The Killer’s Aura does not properly appear while Kindred is active if the Hooked Survivor did not equip the Perk.
Now, does that mean it's not working for the survivor that has it equipped if the hooked survivor is not using Kindred as well? And if so, what does it mean "does not properly appear"? Like is the aura not extending to it's meters length from the hook? Is it stuttering out? Is it not fully outlining the killer? Like what kind of vague issue are we dealing with?! I'm a killer main but planned on doing some archive challenges tonight when I get home and playing SoloQ, I ALWAYS use Kindred. Don't tell me I waited 2 weeks to have the cursor bug removed from PS5 only to have a new bug for Kindred aka one of the most valuable perks in the game for SoloQ.

Okay so basically
If I have Kindred equipped, before the hotfix I could see the Killer's aura if anyone was hooked.
Now, you only see the aura if the person on hook has Kindred.
It's also worth noting that this hotfix broke every single undetectable killer's power and they are revealed by aura perks. I made a bug report about it just now

Ffs. Wow. That is so beyond maddening. And just days before the Xmas Event at that and after spending money on winter cosmetics to celebrate. SMH. Between the DLC and cosmetics, I've dropped like $50 dollars over the last couple weeks to not even be able to play the game properly and I for one am NOT made out of money. JFC. Kindred is like a must for SoloQ and so much for playing a good majority of killers with Undetectable being, in so many words, wall hacked. I get DLCs come with their share of bugs but game breaking bugs 3 weeks after a chapter release is absolutely ridiculous.

This winter event is going to be an actual disaster
All of the game's stealth killers have been neutered due to a bug
Solo Q is gonna be even more painful since Kindred is bugged
It's unacceptable, tbh. Forged in Fog is Binding of Kin 2.0 with how broken it's made the game.

How does this even happen?
How is an on/off switch for killer auras somehow tied to map spawn conditions? Who writes code like this?

The Binding Of Kin chapter is exactly what came to mind with all the frustration Forged in the Fog has caused. Like I get some bugs and tweaks happen with chapter releases but the level of game breaking bugs this time around is beyond ridiculous to the point of not being able to actually play the game at all. Like what in the actual f--k?!

I've been wondering this for the 5+ years I've been playing this game. It seemed like BHVR was finally on an upswing this year and then Forged In The Fog releases and we're reminded once again that this game was constructed with spaghetti coding!!

They should fix the Kindred bug tomorrow or on the 8th when the event starts. Why does it take weeks or months to fix such simple issues...?

It reminds me of the old pokemon games where a small selection of hidden variables basically controlled a whole host of different RNG mechanisms, so that they could fit an entire RPG onto those tiny gameboy cartidges. So spawn conditions for pokemon x would be tied to the movements of NPC y and so on.
It's like they have to reduce variable z to fix the maps but forgot that variable z is also involved in some kind of switch for calculating if an aura should be turned on or off.

People play Dredge for stealth during Nightfall? I play him for fast map travel and loop counters.

Yeah but forget using Demo's extended Undetectable addon when coming out of portals. Now Wiretrap is going to be stronger than ever for survivors or that new killer aura perk with Vittorio.

I can't remember the logistics as to why they can't just rush fixes out. It has something to do with having to give a week's notice before being allowed to when it comes to consoles I believe. Don't quote me on that though. I'm sure someone here knows the exact reason. The Devs have explained it before. It's annoying to say the least. However, you'd think because these new bugs are literally game breaking, that they'd be able to rush a fix out with the Xmas Event release.

I'm so annoyed by this, especially as i planned to play alot this holiday event. They still haven't fixed the previous Kindred bug either, where that big black circle that pops up after a hook blocks the killers aura. It's been like that for several months.

I haven't seen a killer's aura at all, regardless of who has Kindred. My killers can't see anyone with Deer Stalker either.

Same. Plenty of team mates have been hooked with Kindred, and I have it too, and I haven't seen any killer auras at all. It's been a staple in my build for 2 years, I guess I get to experience the game without it for a couple weeks. They still haven't fixed it from earlier in the year anyway, where the big black circle that pops up when a survivor is hooked covers the killers aura. So it's been half bugged anyway.
