What happens, if (for example) Steam shuts down but your DBD acc is linked with your BHVR account?

I'm thinking of linking my Steam DBD account with my BHVR account. Though, there are two questions I have, where I can't find an answer.

First question: What happens, if Steam shuts down forever (or Windows 10 Store / Epic Games), but my account was linked with my BHVR account? Will the Steam progress still be on the BHVR account, or will it be gone, because the link got cancelled because of the platform shutting down?

Second question: What would happen with my progress, if BHVR would stop using the "linking to BHVR account" function after a few years? Would my progress (even though I made this progress while my account was linked) go over to the platform I play on, or would my progress be gone forever?

Thanks! Yeah, when it comes to that I'm always a bit paranoid. 😅 I've spent 3k hours and way too much money in this game lmfao

I linked it now, I read more into it. It's safer to link the account, especially when it comes to bugs like progress loss. If my account wouldn't be linked, and at some point through an update in DBD I lose progress for some reason (which happend to people before), it's hard to get this progress (skins, BPs, Auric cells etc.) back, if you don't have screensots or videos of your whole inventory and currency that you can show to the support. With a linked account, though, if people experience progress loss, BHVR can easily check what happened, what's missing and give you the missing things back.

I remember the whole Rust drama, where a server house burned down 2 years ago or so and people lost all their servers, items etc.
