Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

A question about Stranger Things

I know this probably has been addressed, but I've been more active in DBD again.

I was curious about the map being removed, I understand that it was removed from the general cycle, however, in the description of purchasing the Stranger Things DLC, it specifically said that we were purchasing "New survivors, New Killer and New Map"... To the end, why wouldn't we privately be able to choose the map to play with friends since it was part of the bundle?

Also, the Adapt achievements seem to have been disabled, do we no longer have the ability to get these 3 achievements, and if so, why not release some of the cosmetics as compensation? It's rather disheartening to not be able to change any of the looks for Nancy.

Thank you

Now I'm not anywhere remotely close to qualified to say this, but I reckon it's got to do with the fact that the map was never paid at all, where the characters were. The players that paid for the content have the right to keep said content after the contract ended, which includes the skins and their unique perk icons. No player had purchased the right to play on Hawkins, and therefore no player is entitled to keep playing on Hawkins.

As for the adept achievements, since achievements need to be achievable for all players, they got turned into generic achievements. I'm not sure what was changed into what, but I believe it's the "run x amount of general perks and win" achievements that 'replaced' the ST adepts.

Maps were never actually parts that you actively payed for in the DLC, they are just part of the updates that introduce the DLC characters as well - hence you being able to play even in private matches on all maps even if you didn’t purchase the corresponding DLC.

the wording isn’t that accurate i guess..

as to the achievements, they were changed to complete new ones though if you had the old Stranger Things related achievements those new ones would have been completed for you automatically!

cosmetics as compensation isn’t possible.. they had select few codes before the contract ended and gave those away on various giveaways

I still hope it simply comes back one day.

It is possible - if both parties (BHVR and Netflix) are willing to renew the licensing. If the rumours are true and Netflix didn’t want to renew because of their (now failed) own gaming service or whatever that at least from their side it could make sense..

There was a glimpse of hope. Netflix stock got hammered and they seem to reevaluate some things.

And now they are ruining Witcher again. A lot of the people in charge seem very dumb these days.
