What is a toxic killer?
So I was playing the BP build on Doctor yesterday, if you dont know what it is its just
Thrill of the Hunt, Hex Ruin, Distressing, I usually run Overcharge or Unnerving Presence with it too (I dont have BBQ yet for more BP unfortunately). For addon I just use IK and an electrode and start going to town. After a very fun match I think I only got 2 that game. I get a msg stating that it was the most scummy, toxic doctor that this person has ever played. Didnt camp or tunnel (didnt need to as my objective was just farming bp). I think I hooked them all at least once but more often than not i was just chasing them into infinity and zapping them to try and max everything out. Anyway it made me think... is that toxicity? What can a killer really do to be legit toxic? I imagine camping with no purpose is toxic but outside of that im at a loss. Thoughts?

It depends on which made up Survivor ruleset you are following. Toxicity can be:
Killing anyone except yourself
Killing a member of the SWF group in your Lobby and not the solo queue'er
Actually managing to down someone and your OP Perks causing them to miss their DS skillcheck
Being in the match in the first place
Not standing in the corner with your face to the wall the entire match
Being within 100 meters of the hook
Being on the map after hooking someone
Not permitting them to get 30k BP and a double pip
And.... I could go on and onSorry, but toxicity is really in the mind of the beholder. It's different for everyone. I don't really find any style of gameplay to be toxic. The only thing toxic to me is the post-game chats where people fling insults and threats at one another because they got outplayed or they need to justify a loss to themselves. I follow one rule when playing, on either side btw:
If it exists in the game, and is not considered to be rule-breaking or abusive (in the manner of a cheat), then it is fair to utilize it. Doesn't matter what it is: BNPs, Moris, certain Perks, looping, camping, etc etc. This is the game as the Developers want it, currently since it can always be patched, so whatever is available should be used to its fullest.
Obviously I dislike certain things, always dependant on which side I'm playing at the time, but if it doesn't break a rule then it's perfectly acceptable. That's why I always give a gg, and sometimes a well played depending on if they did a good job or not. If they did legitimately cheat, then I just hit the Upgrade or Leave button and move on to the next match with a clear mind. You don't want to take prior matches into a new one.

The last couple days I played dead by daylight as a survivor, were very stressfull and unfun. Not everything was toxic behaviour but... well, still, unfun.
I played solo alot. And I played with only 2 mates against the killer ALOT. There was literally NO MERCY. 3vs1 and the killer just camped, tunneled and/or slugged the ######### out of us. We weren't even able to get some unhook points. It also didn't matter that someone burnt a BPS. I don't want to farm or get out of the trial, but I want a fair chance, a little bit of sympathy. but no. This is, for me, toxic behaviour.I actually thought, with the new update, the killer would play more relaxed, because pallets are more risky. But it's the total opposite. In forums and discussion, I was allways a little bit killer sided, because I thought, and still think, they should buff some of them etc. But right now? It sucks to play survivor. It doesn't matter if you play solo queue or with friends, the killers tunnel and camp all day long. It doesn't matter if you bring an item or not, the killer is full equiped with some kind of instas, ruin & noed and a mori. I barely can get 10k points, even if I manage to escape, because the killer camps all the time.
"i equip noed because i get gen rushed" PROBABLY BECAUSE YOU CAMP AND WE WON'T RISK OUR ASSES, JESUS. I get lame excuses in every after game chat. "you looped", "you gen rushed", "the map is unfair", "you were able to juke me for too long". sightsI was never a fan of Decisive Strike or meta perk builds. I never really used insta heals or generators. But at the moment? Damn, the really want me to. -.-
(ofc I know that not everyone plays like that. there are a lot of good and fair killers out there and I love them all , but I just noticed it got worse.)

Eh I wouldn’t say this is toxic but to me if you constantly hit me while I’m hooked it’s annoying I only say this because there are some survivors I play as that are annoying when they scream *cough* Quentin.0

I really feel like the camping, tunneling and slugging is more of an issue on PC as on console I rarely come across it when playing survivor. Never been in a match where we've been slugged. Had a bit of tunneling and camping but the exception rather than the rule.
I suppose a toxic killer who is someone who BMs whether they win or lose. Or if a killer bullies someone. Not necessarily tunneling or camping but intentionally spoiling the game for an individual (no, not by using annoying perks, addons, killers or winning etc). For example, holding a survivor hostage in the basement for the whole game.

Don't be weird about it. That's where killer toxicity starts.

Oh, you're making it literally so weird, hahaha.
There's a certain kind of like... Out of Game attitude that some people who main killer (not ALL people who main killer, but some outliers that make it weird enough that it sticks in your head) get that isn't so much like, "toxic" in the traditional BM 'you body-blocked me in a corner' sense, but is extremely uncomfortable to play against or be associated with and is extremely detrimental to the overall community.
People, for example, who unironically call themselves wolves feels very much like the killer mains that tell you that they're going to murder your family for outplaying them, and both of those things are extremely uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, I run into that a ######### ton? And all of that is absolutely a toxic behavior that everyone weirdly just accepts and doesn't believe is strange at all.

It's whatever. It is from a tv movie I saw in grade school lol
Survivors are more toxic than killers. THe power game isn't on the killer side really.
I understand there's 4 survivors to 1 killer, and in total their will be more chances that we all encounter an annoying entitled survivor, but killers just want a fair shake, and it truly seems like we're getting it with the perk reworks and the patches.
Well done.

Well, I just went against a Myers with tombstone, memorial and tinkerers who killed me a few minutes into the match. I reeaaaaally hate when mirror or tombstone is combined with memorial and tinkerers---I don't even know why that's possible... At least it's not too common.1

TBH I dont even mind camping anymore, hey u gotta do what u gotta do, nor tunneling as much ( even tho personally I am terrible at chases, and I have ton hours into the game I play sneaky and quietly, so if Im tunneled all my fun in this game is ruined, but I get it u want me out FAST ).
But I really hate post chat killers going ez.... Noob survivors etc, it doesn't happen often ( not as much as from fellow survivors ) but seeing it in my ranks 20-10 is like.... really? really?0 -
@ArcaneMantis It really depends, like if one survivor DC'd instantly and you camped someone. I would consider that being toxic because it's a 3v1 with 5 generators, no reason to camp, it's unnecessary and rather unsportsmanlike. Overall it's really your intentions, if you are trying to be toxic then your being toxic and vice versa.0
-
In terms of playstyle, the only way for a killer to be toxic is to do stuff like spam and cancel moris, leave people on the ground just because he wants them to have to bleed out when there's no D-strike to be afraid of, bodyblock to hold a match hostage, or hard camping someone even when it's not in his interest to do so and he knows everyone else is on the other side of the map. That said, Doctor and Freddy force pallet looping, time wasting and generator rushing, eliminating all choice in playstyle, so they're inherently toxic, and Hag is a mobile camper so all Hags are toxic as well. It's not the fault of the player, the characters are just poorly designed and not fun to play against.
