PLEASE DO SOMETHING WITH THE BODYBLOCK IN DBD
Do something with the bodyblock, the killer got mad at me because I sabotaged hooks and tank hits for them , And when I was hiding waiting to save a friend , the killer saw me and stood in front of me.
And he didn't let me out until the others left so we waited 20 minutes , and after they leave thought the door and i just died by the end game collapse
(I want to put a photo of the game, but it asks me for something from Garden.Uploads.Add and I don't know what it is)

So its cool when you body block, but not the killer?
10 -
What you shoud do is start recording and then upload it with report, because a long as I remember, it is reportable.
4 -
You have some evidence that author is cheating? Because only cheaters can bodyblock killer forever.
4 -
I asked a question. Thus the question mark. Getting in the way of a killer about to drop someone is a body block. Just like standing in front of the hook. I didnt say anyone is cheating. I never said forever either. Why would I need evidence?

Bodyblocking someone in a corner or in a place they cannot leave for a long amount of time is reportable, so in a situation like this you can report the player in game, open a ticket on the Support website (https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/categories/6713776396180-Dead-by-Daylight) and give all the evidence required (which in this case is video evidence).
Also be mindful that the forums are not the place to report players and they work with a no naming and shaming policy, so if you want to post clips or screenshots, be sure to hide/blur the players' name.
There is a big difference between tanking a hit and purposely bodyblocking someone in a corner, one is perfectly fine the other one is a reportable offense, let's not mix them up.

Yeah, i can read. Im aware of the difference. I asked a question. Thats taking the game hostage. But yeah, please do kill body blocking. I'll never be slowed on the way to the hook again.

I feel you, a year ago two teammates bodyblocked me on the exit gate.
They used Sprint burst and I was dead.

🤦♂️

Taking a hit for your team mates/blocking hooks is all part of the game and when you play killer you need to accept that. Blocking someone in a corner as killer is holding them hostage and totally not okay so make sure you always report that as it is completely unacceptable conduct
7 -
The killer's reaction was childish and reportable. People who do something like this should get banned for a month IMO.
9 -
when survivors body block you can hit them ROFL
When a killer bodyblocks we cannot do anything.

Survivors asking for another nerf, no surprise there.
1 -
Yup, removing bodyblocking and taking the game hostage is such a huge nerf. (/s)
3 -
This would not be a nerf!
Body Blocking in this context is holding the game hostage as clearly described in the OP's post - this is against game rules.
A Survivor body blocking a killer is not against game rules, as the killer can do something about the situation (hit the survivor for example) and is part of the game. Preventing someone from playing the game clearly is against the game rules!
10 -
Also will survivors to by pass the killer, sabo hooks, stand in pallets with other down survivors, bypass killers for hook saves and other things that will only be problematic
1 -
This would be a tough one to implement, (I'm not a dev or a coder so I'm sure there's a way). In your case, OP, I agree. That body block to hold someone hostage is/should be reportable. But sometimes the killer has to block doorways too and allowing survivors to bypass you like a ghost isn't counterable.
I doubt it would help but maybe create a perk that allows you slip past the Killers collision detection, but still allow you to be hit if they swing.

But yet he provided no evidence,no video proof or even photo

This is why I record every game I play. A killer did this to my friend that was taking hits and sabo a hooks (which is allowed and part of the game). Killer was able to get them into a corner and block them until the end game collapse. Then in chat said "I win" lol I sent the recording to BHVR. I wonder if they still thought they won after being told they were banned.
Also I thought it was common knowledge that when a survivor body blocks a way to stop a killer from hitting someone else or stopping a hook, that it's not bannable. Like how it's not bannable for a killer to try and block survivors from reaching a vault or doing a hook save. But holding someone hostage where they can't bleed out and can't move, that's a different story. Anyone playing killer, you don't know if someone is recording their game play - so just don't do it. Slug them if you want or tunnel/camp them out. Those are not bannable.
1 -
Because the forum is not the place to provide evidence of breaking game rules - that would go to Support.
We are discussing the OP's post - where they clearly state that they were held hostage in the game, and that's what we're saying is a reportable and in fact bannable offence.

Your question didn't need to be asked. Unless you were purposely misunderstanding the OP or trying to cause an argument.
Tanking hits for teammates or sabotaging hooks to help teammates is legit gameplay where as a killer body blocking someone in a corner for example and ya know, holding the person hostage is not. The two are not the same, there is a very big difference and you should acknowledge or realize that.
2 -
Oh babes this ain't the take you thought it was
8 -
Yeah but their asking for a change to the core gameplay and that would be a nerf to all killers that's all I'm saying
1 -
I'm sorry what? In what real world instance part of "core gameplay", in other to literally hold the game hostage or bm, to bodyblock a survivor for more than 30 seconds is there?
They quite literally are referring to being bodyblocked for an entire match. That is not normal "core" gameplay
2 -
It wouldn't be a nerf to killers if after a specific length of time, the survivor could phase through the killer though. We're not talking seconds here, which is what happens in a regular game.
6 -
There's many instances where you need to body block someone or a window or pallet from stunning you while, you pick up a survivor. You don't even know,if they're making this up.They don't even have a photo.

I mean that would be fine ,I thought they mean't like a few seconds there's a situation where the killer can be body block, so shouldn't there be conditions like proximity of survivor if killer is mobile etc. I guess being mobil doesn't matter because some guy will just spin in circles
Wouldn't this mess with the character models,so should there be animation and a button key that just let's the character, slip between the area and killer like you would in real life at least make it classy and not just let survivors just be inside the killer.

Then maybe the OP should have titled it Pease do something about killers taking game hostage. Not body blocking. Which it says right in the rules of this forum dont bother to report it. Body blocking is allowed. Im not dumb. Im aware of the difference. And who are you to decide which questions need asking?

Needs to be clarification on this on what's deemed reportable body blocking in regards to length of time. A few scenarios:
- Survivor in a closed off tight space, playing plague, block them in and get a full infection and then hit. - Less than 15 seconds.
- Found a survivor in a tight space, endgame collapse timer is triggered, block them in to avoid an escape. As in, hitting them will let them pass through to the exit gate, assume other survivors alive ready to take a hit. - Endgame collapse timer.
- Blocking a doorway on an indoor map to force an alternative route for an unhook, rpd for example. Again, around endgame when gens are done.

If survivors have afk crows they should lose collision to both other survivors and the killer
2 -
These are acceptable, while holding somebody hostage in the badham house top floor solo gen room is not
0 -
You need to body block a window or pallet for 30 seconds? As Mandy said, this is not even the kind of body blocking that anyone but you in this thread is referring to. There obviously is strategic bodyblocking, I mean body blocking a window when cloaked is a powerful thing wraith can do. But we aren't talking about that.
Also, it doesn't matter if there is a picture or not - this isn't where you'd report players, and it almost seems like you are denying the possibility it can even happen. I've been body blocked in both that dead end with the pallet in the game, and the upstairs room in dead dawg before, I don't have a picture anymore, but I mean, it still happened.
1 -
Bodyblocking other players for extended periods of time should not just be a reportable and bannable offense. It should not be possible.
If 2 or more players in are in close proximity without moving for 30 seconds, then all involved survivors lose collision and can move freely for 3 seconds. A simple solution.
It blows my mind that this game is over 6 years old and a simple fix like this hasn't been implemented.

I used to do it for a few secs to scare them but let them go with a nod and move to find someone else.... mainly not to hold them for longer than 30 sec let th go and go in the opposite direction.....those who hold hostage has a special place in MMR Hell
2 -
I love how many survivors are crying about the game being held hostage when their doing it to themselves. Just finish the last gen and leave, the games over in 3minutes DONE. Instead we ask for more killer nerfs from crutch perk users who are all clearly here to complain or they would not have searched this up 🤣

1. The situation described by OP is taking them hostage, the one you described is not.
2. You make fun of people searching up a post like this, but youre the one bringing back up a post from over 3 months ago.
First impressions mean a lot yknow

30 seconds. 5 seconds is sufficient. There is no reason a player should be blocked longer than that in normal gameplay.
0 -
I'm going to close this. The question has been answered already.
What the OP described is against game rules and is a reportable offence in the game. It does not matter if other survivors are alive and can finish the gens and open the gates....the player that is being blocked can do nothing about it, they cannot progress the game in anyway, this is bannable.
