What if the "end game countdown" started as soon as the generators are powered?
One thing that has always felt off to me from a pacing perspective is how the game feels once the generators are powered. The survivors 99% the gates, regroup, heal, and make any saves they can. Often times this is actually when pressure dissipates.
But imagine the end game countdown starting as soon as the last generator is powered. You'd have 2 minutes to open the gates, save anyone on the hook or who is slugged, etc. End game perks suddenly become more valuable, saves become riskier because even if you have time to heal, open the gates etc you might not have enough time to run across the map, make a daring rescue and get back to the exit.
I think games would overall feel much more dramatic.

EGC would have to get increased back to 3 minutes, because of a simple perk called "No way out"
Alternatively, that perk would have to get changed.
In it's current state it would eat up (if no one was downed) 80 seconds of EGC, not counting the time to also get to a door and activate it.

EGC is meant to remove the ability to hold the game hostage once all 5 gens are done, which is it doing.
If you want EGC pressure on the survivors making saves, open the exit gates - most times a killer does that anyway the remaining survivors run out before the survivors gets hooked afraid the killer is running Blood Warden.
If EGC started once last gen completed it wouldn't encourage killers to interact with survivors trying to kill them during the match - they'd just rely on end game build around guarding the exits and waiting for time to run out. It makes the entire match boring.

I personally think there should be two End Game Timers, a 5 minute one, and the normal one. The Five Minute one starts when the generators are powered, and the normal one starts when the exit gates are opened.

Or you could just make it so that survivors cannot 99% open a gate. Add gate regression so that every second when no one is holding the switch the gate loses 0.5 seconds of progress.
