BHVR, Nurse is a Problem

And if you do not change her, she will keep a stranglehold on the balance of this game until the end of its life cycle.

But what can you do? What could you possibly do to make this Killer go from the most broken and meta-defining character in the game to something everyone can finally be happy with?

If you listened to this thread, maybe you'll find your answers.

The Solutions to The Nurse Problem

Base Character Changes

  • Change: The Nurse's Terror Radius has been increased to 40m.

Base Power Changes

The Nurse's special ability, Blink, is the primary aspect of her kit that has caused the most ire and trouble for people involved in playing against her, as well as people who don't even play as her because of its synergy with multiple perks. This all changes with the following:

  • Nerf: When initiating a Blink charge, the Nurse no longer sees the following aspects of a Survivor:
    • The aura of the Survivor.
    • The scratch marks of the Survivor.
  • Nerf: Blink can no longer be initiated if it has not been fully charged.
  • Nerf: Blink can no longer recharge until post-Blink Fatigue has finished.
  • Nerf: The post-Blink attack state is now considered a Special Attack.
  • Quality of Life: The Nurse now has a meter that shows how long the chain Blink window has left before going into Fatigue.

Add-On Changes

The Nurse's add-ons are a mixed bag; on one hand, some of them are simply the most powerful add-ons she could have, while others are not good or make her inherently worse. These changes below are my own suggestions to the add-ons, some of which are agreeable, some of which may not be agreeable:

Matchbox

  • Rework: Now increases the range and speed of The Nurse's second blink by 30%, but reduces the range and speed of The Nurse's first blink by 50%.

White Nit Comb

  • Rework: Now increases the duration of The Nurse's post-Blink attack by 0.3 seconds.

Dark Cincture

  • Rework: Survivors within 8 meters of The Nurse after Blinking will have their location revealed by Killer Instinct for 3 seconds.

Bad Man Keepsake

  • Rework: Survivors hit with a post-Blink attack now suffer from the Mangled and Hemorrhage status effects until fully healed.

Spasmodic Breath

  • Rework: Blocks all windows within 16 meters of a Survivor that was hit by a post-Blink attack for 5 seconds.

Heavy Panting

  • Rework: Now increases the range and speed of The Nurse's first blink by 20%, but reduces the range and speed of The Nurse's second blink by 50%.

Ataxic Respiration

  • Rework: Survivors within 32 meters of a Survivor that was hit by a post-Blink attack will have their locations revealed by Killer Instinct for 3 seconds.

Anxious Gasp

  • Rework: Blinking past a Survivor will cause them to scream and afflict them with the Oblivious status effect for 60 seconds.

Kavanagh's Last Breath

  • Rework: Hitting a Survivor with a post-Blink attack reduces the recharge time of a Blink token by 33%.

Campbell's Last Breath

  • Rework: Removes the ability for Blink to go through walls or solid objects, but grants the following effects:
    • Increases your movement speed to 4.4m/s.
    • Post-Blink attacks will break pallets and breakable walls.
    • Blinking grants The Nurse the ability to immediately vault a window at an increased 50% speed.
  • These effects incur a reduced Fatigue state of 2 seconds.

"Bad Man's" Last Breath

  • Rework: Putting a Survivor into the Dying State within 24 meters of a Generator will cause that Generator to explode and instantly lose 8% of its progress.

Torn Bookmark

  • Rework: The Nurse no longer recharges her Blinks over time, and the following effects apply:
    • Grants The Nurse the ability to have up to 5 Blink Tokens in her possession at any time by hitting a Survivor with a Basic Attack.
    • Whenever The Nurse uses a Blink, it is completely consumed and must be regained using a Basic Attack.
    • Whenever The Nurse hits a Survivor with a post-Blink attack, she does not go into Fatigue and will instead go into the normal post-attack cooldown as if she hit a Basic Attack.
  • The Nurse's movement speed is also increased to 4.6m/s. This effect trumps Campbell's Last Breath.
  • Add-ons that affect the second Blink will not apply to any subsequent Blink after the second.

Iridescent Last Breath

An overwhelming, glistening breath taken from the Fog itself. In the hands of The Nurse, it erupts with dark ferocity.

  • Rework: Changes the The Nurse's post-Blink attack state into a Basic Attack, but the following effects apply:
    • The Nurse can no longer perform a Blink through walls or solid objects, and instead will collide upon them.
    • The Nurse has an active Terror Radius of 0 meters, with a fake Terror Radius of 40 meters.
      • The active Terror Radius cannot be altered by Perks that increase or reduce the Terror Radius.
  • This add-on's effect will not grant tokens to the Torn Bookmark add-on.

Removed Add-On: Metal Spoon

What this thread should present is something that BHVR should at least be listening to with an open mind--The Nurse needs changes, and she needs them within the near future.

The changes I've presented are nothing new--some may even disagree with them. However, my changes are to at least give a foundation to what should be the road to getting The Nurse changed to a point where she is no longer what defines the balance of this game.

The sooner that The Nurse gets changed, the faster the game will be in a better state.

So come on, BHVR Interactive and the developers behind this game. You have managed to make it this far with changes that have shown you have changed your mindset about this game and has proven you aren't completely dead set in your ways.

The Nurse is a problem, and she needs to be Changed.

Its weird how a base speed increase wasn't included.

    Anyway breaking this down.

If she couldn't see scratches or auras when charging with her current speed she wouldnt be able to really function. Survivors would literally be almost invincible on Lerys since she couldn't see where they went. One blink and they could simply disappear if not injured. Besides that, there's just no reason to .

If she can't blink until it's at max range or max blinks then her speed wouldn't be enough to compensate an old shed become really sluggish.

And simply no to special attack nurse.

And big terror redius and no scratches? Nurse would be able to find survivors how if she can't even see where the ran off to between her blink and fatigue?

Her basekit is completely fine. Those changes would literally gut her LMAO

Completely rework range and 3 blink add-ons to a different effect. All problems are now solved.

i definitly think the Nurse needs some nerf, and her basekit is definitely not fine.
