A word on entitlement.....
Half of what people say is entitlement is not.
Example, I made a post earlier expressing my frustrations about how killers have been jerks to me all day. I was trying to do the Outbreak Breakout achievement, I changed my name toe Read My Bio and explained what I was trying to do. Killers would read the bio, and then proceed to tunnel and camp me out. They knew I was going for an achievement, and they decided to be rude. Now, they dont have to help me thats not the issue. The issue is that they deliberately went out of their way to make it harder on me. I made a post about it and some one said I was entitled. I dont see how expressing my frustration is entitlement.
And I am sick and tired of this community attacking one another for their opinions and beliefs. Never have I seen a community so divided. Its time some one stands up for those simply just expressing their opinions and frustration.
Tunneling is not cool. Yes, a strategy, that doesnt mean its fun or right. Camping is boring. I mean just imagine sitting on a hook for two minutes. Everyone says all the time the most fun part of the game is the chases between killer and survivor, how are you gonna get chases if your being camped? Everyone wants to say that if you DC then you ruin the fun for everyone else, yet will sit here and defend camping and tunneling. How is that fun? One survivor sits on hook while the other 3 do gens, if they are smart. Everyone says that doing gens are boring. Just because some one DCs because they dont want to go against a camping tunneling killer, does not make them entitled. They have every right to have fun as anyone else and if they dont like something, they dont have to go through it.
"Oh, but when you DC you ruin it for everyone else." OK, so I am supposed to ruin my experience at the expense of your experience? How is that fair? If people want to camp and tunnel, thats fine, thats their choice. If people want to DC and go next, that is also their choice.
And just because you got lucky with map RNG and ran to a pallet and pre threw it a hundred times doesnt mean youre good. No one loops anymore, they just hold w to the next pallet. To no fault of their own, look at the new maps that keep coming out they were designed that way.
Its time for us as a community to stop invalidating the experiences and feelings of others. Let them be mad upset happy angry whatever. Because we as a community dont care about the choices that people make in game, and we will defend those choices, but we sure as hell care when they express their feelings.
And its not right. "Its just a game" Yeah maybe to some people it is. But to others its not. I lost my mother to COVID last year and this game is the only thing that helped me through because it was my escape from life. It was and is more than a game to me. And I reserve the right to express my feelings and opinions on it if I so choose to.
And I know that people are going to comment saying that no one is stopping you from expressing your feelings, well maybe not you but as a community you are. I myself and my friends do not feel safe expressing that we dont like the way some one played for fear of the division it creates. Just because we didnt like the way they played, doesnt make us entitled. We just didnt like how they played. It shouldnt be this way for something thats "just a game." And yes, there are some entitled people out there that are entitled, most people are just tired of not being able to express their opinion.

This was hard to read, not because of what you wrote but because no paragraphs.
Nevertheless - I understand how you feel like, a lot of people throw words around all the time and don't always take the time to actually yk consider what's being said by the other person. It's just wah ur just entitled or wah ur just xyz. There are genuinely some people who are like that but a lot of people aren't.
Like, tunnelling and camping isn't ""toxic"" by default. The current state of the game leaves a lot of Killer players in a state of mind where they feel like they have no choice if they want to win and there's truth to it. I defend camping/tunnelling because they are apart of the game by design. The devs know about them and do not change them, therefore the logical conclusion is that they are valid. They shouldn't be treated as taboo as they did back when the game was in its infancy, when the pool of players was smaller.
DBD is so big now you don't have to care about your opponents. You don't see this in other games. People in Overwatch or Valorant or whatever COD game is relevant don't care about your fun. They just don't.
By the way, I'm sorry about your loss - I wish you and your family all the best. DBD means a lot to many of us and it's been a good distraction for myself in bad times as well so you're not alone in that regard.

Sorry about the no paragraphs I just started typing lol. And thank you for understanding. Its just so frustrating the way the community is. And its like double standards everywhere you look. Its just really frustrating more than anything.

Genuine advice
Just try to do what you wanna do, you bought the game and its your free time. Don't let other people deterr you from doing what you like. I've gotten really frustrated with this game and it's community before. Even now, I'm not satisfied with the state of the game but I still care about it.
Besides, any community that is composed of human beings will have hypocrisy in it. It's just how we are sometimes.
Personally when I play DBD, I just play how I want and ignore the endgame chat/BM in game for the most part. Like the people who are horrible in EGC aren't worth remembering. By the time I'm in the next game I'll have forgotten them and what they said LOL

Tunneling and camping needs to be addressed but so does DCing.

well, as far as i know one thing is to complain about a certain gamestyle (mind you, you are free to do it, but don't expect emphaty in any kind of way since the playerbase is mostly made of entitled and toxic brats and also you can't tell to other people how they are supposed to play), another one personally attacking someone for that kind of gameplay (which if you play killer you'll see this always happen on a daily basis no matter what) that will finish to make angry people who in exchange will make the game more miserable as possible for the other side. This is dbd and it won't change how it works sadly, so you have 3 possible outcomes:
1 leave the game and find something else to play (you will be surprised how much relieved you will be with this choice)
2 accept it for what it is and keep playing how you wish to play (even then, you'll probably get tired of it much quicker because the game won't seems fair in your eyes as you just stated)
3 adapt and play without pity or any kind of remorse, being more efficient as you can without thinking of the fun that the others can have (aka camping, slugging and tunneling for killers and genrushing, bodyblocking and abusing extremely safe zones for survivors)
as for me i did all the above in this order: in the beginning i took a long break for it since i was upset for the direction (and the toxicity) that the game was taking, then i thinked that i paid for that game and i deserved to enjoy it no matter what so i accepted how the game worked, but seeing people mocking you in every match cause you played "fair" pissed me off in the long run so now i'll play more efficient as possible in order to win since this is what people in my matches are asking for. Sure, i'll still do some matches memeing around (yesterday i trolled with a snowman all the time without even hooking or hitting anyone on purpose, in the end survivors started to memeing with me), but most of the time i'll be pityless without any hint of remorse.
i'm sorry for your loss mate, but dbd isn't exactly the kind of game where you can enjoy and chill without having a certain mindset. for this the feature "kill your friends" is made on purpose to chill imo.

Most things are entitlement, just the level of entitlement changes depending on what people are saying.
I think it's fair everyone as humans have some entitlement in them but it's just more of a matter how they go about it.
As for the changing name thing you have to except being targeted, yes it sucks but you changed your name to let people know you're doing it. Some may help, others may not but it is entitled to expect just the good and it doesnt work that way.
I get it's not fun, hell I'm targeted alot just for simply playing the game and its annoying seeing a bubba ignore all the moving snowmen near me and just hard tunnel me instead so I do get your frustration there.
End of the day though people can play how they want, with what they want and it's never fair to expect your opponent to play a certain way for you when it doesnt happen the other way around.
Tunneling and camping isnt the most fun sure, neither is stacked gen defense but it fixes alot of base game issues from bad matchmaking, imbalances at certain levels etc. And if you look at it fairly from the killers POV you should be able to understand why they do it and not really be mad at them as it is just a game afterall and despite what people say most people like to win and will try to win.
In a perfect world loops and naps would be fair, killers wouldn't need to run gen defense or use unfun tactics to try win while survivors get matched properly, multiple chases etc. But it will never happen because everyone has different opinions, thoughts and feelings about everything in the game and to say your opinion etc. Is better or has more value is the entitlement part.
I disagree with alot of things people say, I just explain my points and experiences and leave it there. No point attacking people or moaning about how they play but for some reason DBD is a very toxic and entitled community

People in this community think wanting players to not act in an unbearable manner is entitlement.

I wasn't leaving a post; that was my phone's fault for anyone who was curious why this was previously a blank post.

Sorry for your loss, I wish you and your family all the strengt in the world.
That said. You are saying people should be able to give their opinion but also saying others aren't allowed to give their opinions on it
If you are allowed to state your frustration about certain killers actions, why shouldn't others be allowed to state that they feel the killers didn't do anything wrong
If you can express that you feel people are unkind others can express they feel it's entitlement
You are kinda asking for people to respect your opinion while not being allowed to give a opinion of their own

People can express their feelings for entitlement but me simply expressing my frustrations does not make me entitled. And I am not stopping any one from giving their opinion at all. I just dont see how frustration equals entitlement

So on the topic of DCing I don't know if entitlement is the right word for it but I feel like it's very childish for sure. The amount of times I've played soloQ had someone DC on first down or first hook and then the rest of us almost comeback and it becomes very evident if that person had just stayed in we could at least gotten to powered gates is honestly kinda of infuriating and it is ruining the experience for the rest of your team. If the killer is camping yeah that's more annoying to try to beat but it's not some unbeatable strategy it just requires people being willing to hook trade while others do the gens but if somebody DCs any chance of maybe winning usually disappears pretty fast and why do people do this? Because things didn't go perfectly? Gimme a break, these people that fold under the slightest amount of adversity annoy me way more than tunnelers and campers.

Sorry for your loss but your topic regarding your wish to complete a difficult achievement was definitely entitlement. You say here "now they don't have to help me" but in your other thread stated that all you were asking was "that they let me open the gate and let me escape".
This is asking the killer to lower their own MMR score (as they only get MMR for kills) and asking the other survivors to help ensure that you not only are the ones to open the gate but to help ensure that you survive.
That you don't see this as entitlement is ... interesting.
You have repeatedly complained about players reading that bio and deliberately making sure that you didn't get the achievement. A bit of a jerk true but you've only mentioned one person doing that and have assumed that in every other game that they were also being jerks, which is a huge stretch. A good portion (I would guess most but that's just a guess) will never read your bio, as there are trolls our there who put triggering images/text in their bio because it's a throwaway/hacker account - after the first time I encountered that I have never read a bio and never will.
So this, added to the fact that you're defending DC'ing when you're not having fun despite the affect on the other survivors to the point where it sounds like it's a common action for you, renders the willingness to give you the benefit of the doubt much lower. It appears that only your enjoyment matters, which is entitlement

Yes if you dc that ruin's it for team and gives killer free tunnel and win usually. So survivors who does this reward killer if they would try their team could have chance so never give up. Killers will just tunnel even more because of that. And if you get lucky you might even make it out that gets those killers very mad.
