Ps5 movement speed (Please help)
This is a last place i can ask for help before I really have to stop playing Dbd for good. My problem is that many times when I play killer my movement speed is inconsistent. I notice it for example when survivors vault the window and I play the mindgame right and double back to the other side of window they still are able to make the vault again. And sometimes it takes forever to catch them when they are running straight. I know holding forward is strong but for me it takes longer than it should. I have tried everything. Tried diffrent resolutions, diffrent pixels response times cause I play on monitor, have bought 2 new controllers, I have good internet. But nothing seems to work. If anyone has had this problem and know or have suggestions how to fix it please help! Thanks for advance! Ps. I know how to loop tiles i have played this game 5 years now. So that's not the problem. The problem is not either that survivor is that good because this happens wit good and bad survivors aswell. I didn't have this problem when I played on ps4. So only thing I can think of that the monitor somehow makes it worse. But I have a really good monitor and every other game works on it great! And it's not that killers running animations are diffrent cause these happens with all of the killers.

They should just make it so you max accelerate after even a slight push. Like on pc.

So you mean that is the problem? That you have to push it fully that's why there is movement speed issue?

Are you always playing the same killer? Are you looping close enough to objects so you wont lose distance? Theres two main killerspeeds in the game, 4,4 m/s and 4,6 m/s. Different killers have different speeds. And Nurse, she is even slower. *Just read your post entirely Im sure you know all of this, then I cant help you.

Could be your controller, a drifting analog stick to be exact. Happend to me twice since 2017. Main problem is the wiggeling out part as surv, it really can hurt the sticks. And when i played killer, sometimes it happend that i walked slowly for short time.

It's not controller. Have bought 2 new ones. And out of the box still the same problem.

I appreciate the help anyways!

Could be but also most of the controllers are prone to having bad analogs. I have 3 ds4's and they all have some issue. Drift for example. Sometimes it goes away after cleaning but I think my suggestion from my previous reply would help a lot.
Don't put your hopes up that they will make it happen anytime soon tho.

I have been having the same issues, thank you for bringing this up

DBD on Controller (mostly Next-Gen Consoles) have a dynamic way to tell the amount input for the Joysticks and the Front Bumpers (L1, L2, R1, R2). It can affect gameplay but can also be changed in your PS5's settings (I believe, I dont personally have a PS5 but I think there is a way to turn it off).

I had this issue all the time on PS4 and at least in my case, I can't speak for anyone else, the issue was definitely not analogue stick drift.
I was able to play TLOU2, RDR2, DOOM, GTA V, etc. on the same controller around the same time frame without any issues or any noticeable weirdness at all.
The issue was also noticeable distinct from analogue stick drift: it was not getting pulled to a specific direction, or failing to register in a specific dead zone of the stick's direction; DbD's in-game character movement was just drastically slowed.
Additionally, the issue wasn't consistent.
One day I might be moving so slowly as Killer that I could not catch up to a Survivor running in a straight line (this isn't hyperbole, I genuinely had multiple games on indoor maps where my character just could not move as fast as they should and would lose distance chasing down hallways).
But another day it could be totally fine, and served to heighten the contrast on the days it was a problem. This decreased speed could happen as Survivor or Killer, but since I'm a Killer Main it happened more for Killer.
I never did figure out a solution, OP, sorry to say. Hopefully you can figure out something.

It's the analog sticks on the controller. If it's registering even slightly off, DBD reads it as you're not pushing all the way forward. Something in how they coded for consoles. Couple things you can try, but no guaranteed fix. First, turn off the vibration function and haptic feedback. Sometimes those mess with it. Second, make sure you're NOT using 120hz mode on PS5 or monitor. Idk why, but that seems to mess with it at times too. Maybe BHVR will patch it out at some point. Until then just gotta try to make the best of it. Keep your controller charged up. It happens more often if the battery is gettin low.

I havent seen a setting that could change those things. Could you link it maybe?

I have all of those off and controller is always charging. I have tested evrything because this problem and also i have really great knowledge of monitors. Lets hope they fix it at some point.

I actually think I fixed it. I just dont know how it makes sense. I had to turn the 4K video movement speed to -1 or -2 and now it works great. I think the movement issue might be because of the frames so it makes that you always see on your screen that you are not catching up and also could somehow affect the movement speed. I tested this on Ps5 version I can try it on Ps4 version aswell. To see if it works aswell there. But i have to try this couple of days to see if it really was this or if i just got lucky with matches. But i played 10 games and everyone one of them was fine. Usually only 1 of those 10 games was decent others i moved so slow.

They should be in your Controller settings (in your PS5's settings menu), some games also provide more settings in their "Controls" section as well to cater to this, some might require directly modifying the game itself which is tied to changing the settings for the game itself through the Playstation Main Menu (and Game Selection Menu).
And if your Controller does not experience any form of drift, reducing the Controller Deadzones in Controller and "Control" settings can help with tracking and movement in several different games. You can also try that.
This is based on general advice that helped me with movement not being right on Console, since I had a similar issue when playing on Console. I moved to PC recently so I dont really have those issues anymore.
Since I dont own a PS5 myself, I am only estimating where to find this based off of my PS4. Hopefully this helps a bit.

I tried to search but there is not that kind of setting in Ps5. Even googled it. But if you manage to find it I would appreciate if you link it!

Idk then, I might ask one of my friends who has a PS5 if they can help, I'll try to keep you updated then!
