How the matchmaking works

Why is it, that you might not see Huntress/Trickster for 40 games but after you equip a challenge where you have to pallet stun the killer those two are all you get?

Or when you equip the locker build all you get are Dredge and Iron Maiden?

Or if you have Kindred and We'll Make It half of your games you'll be going against Pyramid Head?

What other "coincidences" have you noticed and why do you think this is?

I either have days where I play against people who are there to have fun. And then some nights every game I play the other team is either salty, or camps or trolls. There is never a mix

I second the medkit challenge against Plague.

I'll add the "hide in terror radius" against Ghostface, got a couple of them the other day with this challenge and it was absurdly funny.

That's why the devs have you lock in your challenge before you start matchmaking: so they can match you against killers that prevent you from getting that challenge done so you have to play longer and keep their player metrics up for investors/partners.

The matchmaking system is fueled by pure spite and black licorice.

Aren't those two the same thing?

But seriously, it only seems like the MMR is out to get you in situations as mentioned above. Huntress is one of the most played killers, so odds are good you'd draw her when doing a pallet challenge.

That said, it does often feel like every time I choose a stun challenge I immediately start drawing Huntress, Nemesis, Trickster, etc. But it's mostly perception.
