While this does suck, they're not obligated to.

I was once hooked in basement with old hatch mechanic, Dwights on the way to save me, sees hatch instead and leaves. Could've easily saved and we both gotten out but it happens.

If anything, the devs have signaled they WANT survivors leaving others to die with the latest set of perks released / buffed.

This game would not be nearly as fun if I had to go down with the ship every game. There's SWF and plenty of other games for that.

I think solo Q being a pseudo battle-royal is what makes it more fun. Jump in as anonymous mode Claudette and be a hatch rat every game, there's perks for it!

Honestly, most of the time, it's better for your team to just leave rather than go for a endgame save and let the killer get an extra down.

If I can convince my solo teammates to go in for the save I'll usually try to help. Most of the time though it's just better to take what you can get.

A punishment for it would be way too far.

Survivors get a penalty for not rescueing a survivor who was hooked (as long as it was not already their death hook) in the emblems and the mmr changes made it so mmr is adjusted based on the number of survivors that escape.

Not really sure what else you want since survivors are already have a reason to save as many people as they can.

    What exactly do you mean?

As Killer aka slugging to death? Sucks, but nothing you really can do about that. Some form of speedup when there is no way of getting rescued would be nice so that you dont have to bleed out the full 4 minutes, but thats it.

As Survivor? Like, getting out and leaving others on the Hook?

The thing with that is - yes, it would be nice if everyone would get out. But this is not possible sometimes. And the people who are not on the Hook have the same right to survive like the person on the Hook. Nobody is entitled to get saved. Especially because sometimes I see players running AWAY from the Exit Gates and getting hooked really far away from them. I am running BT, so there is a full 20 seconds of Endurance and Haste, but even this will not be enough in those cases.

And at this point, it is just hook-trading. When it is not likely that both players get out, why even trying to hook-save? At best, it is a trade, at worst, both are dead.

    How about no?

Speaking as a Killer main; The game should not punish Survivors who want to bail & possibly force them into a hook trade, or even feeding the Killer a free kill, because the game won't let them/will punish them for leaving.

bro i'm gonna keep it real with you.

If you were the baby Dweet who got caught by the NOED Trapper I played against a couple hours ago, I'm only half sorry.

There's no way I'm hook saving in basement against a NOED Trapper.

They already punished. They just don't know it.

A daring rescue is much more fun than a cowardly escape.
