How would you feel if scourges were on every hook with a nerfed effect?
So pain res would only do 10%, MS 10%, etc.
Pain res is a nice perk but I don't run it purely because of the rng spawns of scourge hooks.
I think id honestly prefer it.

They just need to make Scourage Hooks token based.
You start the trial with 4 tokens.
1 token will be consumed when hooking a survivor, turning the normal hook into a Scourage Hook and boom, rng is completely removed.
Giving the killer the freedom to choose where they want their Scourage Hooks to be placed on the map.

I'd rather they just fixed their map generation in general.
Or at least picked better scourge hooks.

In my opinion, what would be the point in Scourge Hooks if they didnt have a bit of RNG to them?
Like what would separate SH: Pain Res from a perk like Pop Goes The Weasel?
What makes Scourge Hooks, well, Scourge Hooks, is their randomness. Sometimes you have access to them, which provide a powerful effect, but otherwise if you dont, you dont get access to them. You can bring perks to reduce how impact that randomness can be, such as Agitation or Iron Grasp, but the randomness will still affect when and where you can use them.

I think you missed my point.
Their strength is similar to old Hex Perks, they have RNG involved with them, but provide a decently strong effect; but if you literally removed all RNG and weakened them, why would run them over other perks?
Gift of Pain dropped to 10%, still has Hemorrhage and Mangled... why not just use Sloppy Butcher since it applies on hit instead of on hook, which is just better imo.
Pain Res dropped to 10% regression on the most completed generator... why not just use PGTW, since you can apply 20% current regression to the generator that you choose... why not just use Jolt which applies 10% regression on down to multiple generators close by.
I would just much rather have SHs remain the way they are then nerfing them for the sake of consistency, especially when nerfing them would just make them worse versions of existing perks anyways.

Would be too strong in my opinion.
Every hook being Monstrous Shrine (even lowered) would be very oppressive against solo teams, while the perk would lose its surprise effect on teams that can call it out as now every hook is scourge hook.
Every hook being pain res would make PR + DMS very prevalent. Plus, 10% is still a nice chunk to get every time.
Gift of Pain would trigger 100% of the time, which would be a more efficient Thana on most killers.
Floods of Rage would be extremely strong on mobility killers.
I think maybe adding a couple of scourge hooks would be okay, or coding them so that they appear spread out and not in corners, but definitely not every hook.

How about a half and half?
You get a diminished effect for any hook, but the full effect for a scourge hook?

This would be a great idea if we weren't currently in the worst 3-gen meta atm. What's to stop someone from identifying a 3-gen as soon as they load into the map (as some killers already do) and putting all their SHs in and around that?

I’d rather it just prioritise central hooks so maps like swamp don’t get ruined by bad scourge hooks

Doesn't that just remove all the risk with those perks and survivor counterplay with scourge hooks?
I would be ok with that idea, but only if the hook gets sabotaged he returns as a normal hook, making them a resource that survivors can destroy if they have the tools

I'd rather they just make it so Scourge Hook spawns are more consistent while still forcing killers to weigh up the time gained in the SH proc vs the time lost carrying. Make them spawn in better places but keep some aspect of decision making to have at least a little bit of skill expression in there.

Why not give the killer 4 stacks for the perk and the ability to go up to a hook and mark it as scourge hook? That way we would remove the rng and a killer could set up the hooks where he needs them.

If they removed a few hooks and made them all scourge that would be nice as at least there would be some counterplay with Sabo builds. A little more interaction would be fun.
Since removing bodyblocking by hook, you never see Sabo builds in solo.

Removing rng aspect of scourge hooks is basically removing the scourge hook mechanic. Then it'd just be hook perks like DMS is.
Maybe there could be a way to address the rng aspect, like the first 4 hooks you use or something become scourge hooks.

Scourge Hooks are a risk you take for a powerful effect, similar to Hex totems. I think it's fine.
