Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Eyrie of Crows rework

Thanks to Christmas Dwelf we know solo queue buffs and eyrie of crows map rework are on the way.

Veterans of the game know this is the 2nd worst map of the game and hopefully devs take into consideration how to properly balance the map.

1. Loops are extremely safe and close together to other loops which can be safely chained together with no mind game potential since you can always see the killer.

2. Map is very big and takes a decent amount of time to travel shrinking the map a slight bit would help both sides

Eh...I'd hesitate to say 'second worst'. Garden is probably the unambiguous worst, but I'd rather see Eyrie than Cowshed or Badham.

I really like the Haddonfield rework. It looks amazing, and outside of a few really obnoxious windows, it plays pretty well on both sides.

The devs #1 priority for the new year needs to be map reworks to better balance them. That has been games biggest issue for years.

As you mentioned with Eyrie, most maps are way too large with loops that are way too safe and can be chained together.

I hate how much it changes depending on the killer you choose, I loath playing Huntress on that map with the 20 meter car hitboxes, the lack of lockers at mid, and traversing the map as a 110% killer, but with Nurse, it's like you're where you're meant to be.

Wait, Eyrie map rework has actually been confirmed?

When they teased the survivor status icons on Twitter, the picture of Eyrie in the background looked different (the window and breakable wall positions were swapped). So we at least know they’re changing something, but it’s unclear how extensive those changes will be.

The dbd definition of rework is so pitiful. I don't think the door and window swap on the main building can be considered 1/10 a rework, the legion and ghost face buffs were definitely not reworks. Doctor is probably the only real rework ever.

Tbh, I don't hate Eyrie of Crows that much. As long as you can keep a 4 or 3 gen on the area behind and sideways to the main building, the map can get manageable. However, it's still very boring because of it's 3 gen nature.

I do think that Suffocation Pit, Badham, Garden of Joy and farm maps are far worse.

Freddy would be the only real rework, but I'd say Doctor and Leatherface are both acceptable to refer to as reworks too.

I think things like the Haddonfield and RPD reworks count, too, they ended up pretty significantly different.

First of all, those aren't necessarily "solo queue" buffs, most SWFs are only duos so knowing what the other half of the team is doing is really useful for them too. And second, we know those buffs are coming since like one year ago now, only the Eryie rework is new info.

True, I wasn't thinking with maps in mind at the time even though I started by talking about a map. I hope real reworks like those happen more often, though I was disappointed with Haddonfield a bit for both sides as I was kinda hoping it would have more loops and less "can the killer I am playing counter these houses and windows with their power". It's like a win in champ select type thing on that map, although I guess if you strictly play for 3 gens and get lucky that's pretty gross too.
