I wish the community...
had a universally understood in game gesture to indicate I want to have some chases and don't care if you all escape after I get some hooks. Same for survivor - I don't care to sit on gens pressing M1 so lets have some fun chases rather than sweat and I don't care if I get sacrificed in the end.
Any attempt I make to indicate this as killer is often misunderstood as me wanting to farm and I can end up with pet survivors I now feel I cant kill and they just want to farm rather than actually have chases.
There are still many of us who want fun over 'winning' at any cost!

Then why don't you just chase them? I guess I'm super confused by what you want here because it sounds like what you want is to just hook people but let them all go in the end which...you can just do. You're the killer, you're the one in control if you choose not to sacrifice people on Death Hook.

As killer, it's happened before that I've had a couple of survivors who really wanted chases, and who went about it the polite way rather than being taunting. Mostly they just hovered around me, trying to take chase if I was with other people and the rest of the time just waiting for me to turn around to see them.
They weren't the best teammates by any means, they didn't really help the others with the gens, but they were really good at chasing and honestly super fun, going for lots of FOV techs I wasn't used to facing. When I lost them, they would just wait in the open for me to find them again or give a single clic for me to hear them. They would flashlight save the two solos but not each other, so I still had a chance to sacrifice them. It was more of a "you can have the solos but you'll have to go through us first" situation, haha.
Both of them died eventually, and one of the gen jockeys escaped through hatch, but even though I lost quite some time to chasing them, this game was really fun, and it wouldn't have been any less if they'd escaped.

Because if I just chase one person and don't pressure gens all gens are done in under 5 minutes and everyone leaves.

Yes I have had survivors who got the idea too, had a really great match the other day with 2x survivors that were still alive when I was playing Pyramid Head and we had chase after chase after chase where they healed and then we went again.
I just wish there was a way to indicate 'come 1v1 me at the shack bro' lol

That's the price you pay for playing inefficiently. Sounds to me like you want survivors to know you're not playing seriously for some pride reason. Who cares? I've had many games where I just two hook everybody and spend the remaining time chasing the best survivor. If you do a successful mind game and nod at em instead of hitting they usually get the hint.

You can imply that I am saying something I am not all you want, while ignoring what I am actually saying.

Many survivors are just playing the game where they try to win. Your choice of playing in a way where you choose to not kill survivors only makes it easier for them to do the gens and leave.

What you're saying is that you want a button that tells survivors "Actushully guys I could have beaten you at any time but I'm just chilling!! No really!" You don't need a button for that. As another poster said you can simply play that way. It doesn't matter whether or not they get the message so long as you got to do the stuff you wanted to do.
Unless, of course, they don't get the message and your ego gets bruised. Can't have some random people thinking you're just bad at killer, right?

You know, if you are going to tell me what I am actually saying then I will just leave you to your podium to make your announcements since they have nothing to do with me.

This is the point though... it would be great to be able to communicate that you are not there to sweat and want to actually have chases for either side.
It has nothing to do with winning or losing, its about being able to not have every match be a sweat-fest every time where you can enjoy the fun part of the game on both sides (the chases).

Even if there was, many survivors aren't going to trust the killer is be truthful. I've encountered fake farming killers in the past.
If you only want to chase survivors and not kill them, you can do so. But don't be surprised survivors just do gens and leave because that's what survivors are suppose to do.

I do understand that and I have been burned by 'farming' killers too so I have mistrust.
It is just a shame that customs earn you zero BP or progress of any kind, otherwise I would do those a lot more to have likeminded respectful players who are there for the interaction rather than pressing M1 or sweating with slugs etc at 5 gens.
Edit: Thinking about this you are actually right as I neglected to consider the lowest common denominator that ruins everything - the scumbag. So we would just get people pretending they are honourable when they are anything but and it would not work...
Shame, I guess we just continue on with the sweat fest

Usually my approach to this is to chase each survivor in turn as normal and get a hook. After that I'll chase and down, but let them wiggle off. If you get a hook on each they'll still be cautious enough to generally not try to farm right away.
If I get one that's better than me, I'll let them wiggle off right away if i down them and keep chasing them while the others finish gens. Those are usually the best because once I decide that I don't care about the results of the game, I can really focus my attention on what they are doing and what I'm doing right or wrong to counter it.

Feelings are for survivors. Pull yourself together. No mercy, ever.

That is actually a good way to go about it, sends a pretty good message of your intentions
To be clear, it isn't about farming for either survivor or killer that I am interested in, its the chases and making sure we all get decent BP for our time rather than 'winning'

Lol
Honestly at over 3k hours in game (beginners hours compared to many) I no longer care about killing everyone or escaping, I am into chases and good fun experiences over sweating.
If I send the wrong message that is on me and I wont accidentally give trust then betray that, it isn't how I personally operate.

Kill them, Johnny. Kill them all. Make them pay for what they did to you. Give in to the voices, they know the right way.

They need to make different game modes that offer different objectives to achieve victory, this game is just getting boring these days, you can't play any top tier killer without catching heat for it even if it's just for the fun of playing them and as a survivor you get trash talked for having fun and not gen rushing but then when you do rush gens you get complained at for ending the game too quick it's just annoying anymore and it's turning into "My Feelings" simulator where we get judged like politicians in a video game for trying to have fun

Yes a new game mode could be a good thing that is for sure
