Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Solution to lobby dodging

Make it where the killer can’t see who the survivors are either. Seems fair, and a lot less likely to disconnect in match and than reset a lobby. Double blind that #########.

Or you know make it so survivors can see which killer we are playing against so we can make our builds accordingly as well. Which also seems fair. I’m just saying if they can bring a mori Bc they see toolboxes and medkits or equip franklins Bc of it. I’d like to know if I’m going against a doctor so I can bring calm spirit yo!

As a survivor I also dislike those dcing bastards. It doesn’t help me any. Killers dc too in match it isn’t one sided. Also Bc lobby dodging is a huge issue.

Being able to see the Killer would make it hell on the Killer. Players would just bring an anti-doctor build or an anti-Trapper build with Small Game and generally make underpowered Killers even more useless. It’s a matter of what you think is important to bring at all times, not what you need for just one game and then swap your perks the next and so forth. While Killers get an advantage being able to see the Survivors, they don’t know what they’re really bringing...With how many different variants of items there are for Survivors to use, Killers can easily mind-game themselves before a match by trying to figure out what a Survivor is bringing just by how they look and what is in their hands. It wouldn’t be fair to bring a key and not have the Killer know there’s a chance that 1 to 3, depending on how many gens are done and who is still alive, could easily just escape after gen rushing. You just need to generally go along with what you’re given, not what is known.

Do you think bringing a mori Bc you see a bunch of medkits, toolboxes etc is the ability to last minute in Franklins is fair? We get in there not knowing who the killer is or what they brought. We don’t have the option to lobby dodge for an easy game but killers do Bc they can opt out if they don’t like what they see. Is that fair? Is that balanced. I can argue balance for survivors like you can killer.

Also idk why a killer would be upset about in game survivor dc it just makes the match easier which is exactly my thought when I play killer. It hurts the remaining survivors more. So again lie to someone else.

I play both survivor and killer, and I prefer survivor. I’ve played this game for two years on both Xbox and PC, and I can assure you, if you’re having games where killers bring Franklins a lot, you’re generally running a toxic build with other Survivors, such as most of you carrying flashlights or toolboxes to genrush. The last time I’ve seen a Franklins was against a Freddy about two weeks ago and that was because I was planning on toying with the Killer all match for ‘get chased for 2 minutes as Feng Min.’ Dropping your items suck, I know, but Killers don’t exactly have a lot to use to their advantage if they’re not playing someone like Hillbilly or Nurse. It’s a matter of thinking. It’s a horror game where Survivors need to complete gens, survive, and escape. If they knew 24/7 what Killer they were going against, it wouldn’t exactly be fun and get stale over time. The mystery of ‘well, I’m worried it’s a Doctor, should I bring Calm Spirit or should I keep using Lithe?’ is a matter of chance. Not only that, but planning ahead of the Killer, who’s main goal is to kill and keep Gens under control could make the game stale and unplayable for them if they have no clue their getting gen rushed planned by a group of 4 SWFs. You need to think about both ends of the balance scale and not outweigh one side because you favor it over the other.

Here are a few reasons why Survivors dodge lobbies:

    • teammates are in a SWF
    • teammates have toxic names
    • MLGA blocked the Killer
    • Steam blocked a Survivor
    • Bad Ping
    • Failed to streamsnipe their favourite streamer

And why would I be upset when Survivors DC? I'm looking for challenging matches and not some #########, boring farm matches. If 1-2 Survivors DC you "have to" farm with the other Survivors or they're going to flame the hell outta you. All I want is good, intense and thrilling matches and if Survivors disconnect, they ruin this for me.

I’m thinking about the unfair Imbalance it causes now for survivors. Like I said I’m okay with them not being to see us either. I can’t see that the whoever is bringing all these op builds Or try to guess what they might do Bc I know nothing. So if you don’t want us to know, we don’t want you to know either. I know a lot of people dc Bc well we don’t have the same set of visual ability as killers do in pregame lobby. I bet if survivors could see or not be seen there’d be less lobby dodges. If you depip for easier games you just are a bully in my eyes.

Okay so you’re saying if the entire team has bad ping all 4 connections are trash, but the host whose connection it goes off of isn’t? Why you lie to people? If you have bad connection I’m going to have bad connection it’s the way it works.

Hey Einstein, the killers the host and their ping is 0. That ping you see is your ping to them.

There is a thing called MLGA unless they removed it?

    Its bannable now

When did that change? Last I recall was that is was just not whitelisted. Not that it was bannable.

That has changed about a year ago I think.
Not being whitelisted means that it is bannable.

Whatever if “my connection” to “host” is bad why would I enter a match, when I can get one with a stable connection?

Like I said they can also make it where the killer can’t see us. They can change their build accordingly but I can’t? Okay not fair. Fair is fair is fair. I’m okay with either or.

Life isn't fair. I'd address the rest but its pointless and the topic has been rehashed to death.

Okay so it’s fair to nerf survivors to pacify killers demands and wants, but not survivors? That’s what you’re saying? Okay 👌

It sure is cupcake. Welcome to the Just Desserts buffet. All you can eat.

Good thing you’re not the boss of the game cupcake, so wipe ya biased ass with that napkin.

And yet you are still eating at Just Desserts buffet. Enjoy your fudgy sundae. Just lick the grit from your teeth and keep on swallowing.

A solution to lobby dodging, a real one, is the hardest one.
Balance the game around SWFs/mid trial chat/coordination.

Maybe make stuff easier for killers to get so we have the tools to battle them, or something.

Killers on average get a 3-4K per match how much more “balance” do you need?

So if a Killer dodges a lobby, how do you know it was not because of the bad connection of a Survivor to the Killer?

You enter a Killers lobby, you're one of out of 4 Survivors. Chances are high that at least one of the Survivors has a crappy ping thanks to the ######### matchmaking, so the Killer dodges.

Every Survivor: OMG the Killer dodged because of ME . They're afraid of ME! LOL!

Yeah not excited about it at all. I’m already pissed when they dc Bc it’s a trash move.
Yeah it ruins the game, for all players, but thing is the way I see it, killers dodge what they deem as unfun, survivors DC what they seem as unfun, both are just as bad. Dodging is worse though as it causes most of the lobby issues and match making issues

You make a joke out of it but this forum is filled with killers that lobby dodge all the time for a list of reasons that have 0 to do with ping. I get lobby dodged a lot less when I play solo. If I’m in a group a considerable amount. Coincidence? I think not.

I don't need your attention my man. I have enough intellect to make a post and get responses by stimulating people mentally. You on the other hand can't deal with the level of angst I'm creating in you with each post and are now looking for a way out. Walk away with your tail between your legs. You join a ever growing group and won't be lonely.

Which is why it should be double blind or both can see. That way it throws out the likelyhood of dcing in game Bc both go in knowing what they are getting into, or both are completely ignorant to what’s about to go down. Which is balance.

Well, first off, where do you get that data?
And there are variables to consider.
Largely what goes into being prepared to fight the SWFs who generally like to abuse match making to fight low rank killers.

I mean if these killers that get 3 to 4 Ks, but they have pages of 3 rank perks, purple moris, and high end addons, it doesn't mean anything to someone who doesn't even have a page of rank 3 perks, no purple moris, and insufficient offerings, both facing the same SWFs.

It’s not walking away with my tail between my legs.it’s having enough inner peace and respect , than to fill this forum with junk insults back and forth that argue nothing about the game and its mechanics. I’m refusing to engage with you , because you offer nothing but insults and 0 insight.

    I hope so.

The SWF issue needs to be fixed, lobby dodging is just the Killers way to adress it. The more Killers dodge, the bigger issue SWF becomes and the devs are sooner or later forced to take actions or the people run away.

I don’t think it’s an issue that can be resolved this way TBH
in game DCs need to be revoked as an option, Killers shouldn’t see they lobby until they’ve locked in to playing then they have their count down to adjust accordingly.

Once You’ve locked it your all stuck playing.
Plenty of online games have implimeded, dodging and dc counter measures.

    My favourites being lock ins.

But here people will DC and dodge until the end of days

I believe one of the devs said it in a stream recently, or the stats were posted somewhere, hold on I’ll try to find it for you mate!

That's whole point of seeing items, and the reason why survivors can't see killers, is so you can counter play.

The reason they dc is because they don't know how to counter play and want to run the generic build instead.
