Killers have too much vision. Hiding mostly feels pointless
I have had way too many matches where the killer just simply knows where I am despite me running perks like sole survivor, quick and quiet, iron will (which should have never been nerfed to 75%), etc. I have matches where I have sole survivor at 3 stacks, hiding in a locker on the other side of the map from the 3rd hooked survivor and the killer goes straight to my location. I suspect some kind of cheating in many of these situations. Either that or hiding in this game even with hiding perks feels largely pointless. The killer's ability to simply know where you are, whether by perks or just by the killers knowing the maps too well by now, is too much. I don't usually run stealth or hiding perks. I prefer using perks that allow for more killer interaction. The problem is these days killer mains just seem to know where you are all the time and can too easily find you in situations where hiding is critical. This isn't the same game I played when I started over 2 years ago. So much has changed. Too much has changed.

Survivor literally have a 3r person pov, if the killer is finding you is because you are obvious, like you run, you let scratch marks, if the scratch marks disappear in some region the killer will try to find you, lookers and bush is the most obvious place to hide.
Killers have aura reading perks, is not difficult finding someone.

To be fair, there's a point at which it's not anything to do with the game's mechanics at all, and just the killer player knowing to look for you.
For instance, if I know a generator has been worked on but I don't see any scratch marks, it stands to reason that there's a survivor nearby. That's when you start looking round corners, and checking lockers... plus, there are more tells than you might think in the moment. Scratch marks that end at a locker, pools of blood leading to a bush, disturbed crows, that kind of thing.
It's not really about how much vision killers have, it's just that... survivors have to be somewhere. There's good reason to check obvious hiding spots in a lot of scenarios.

I've been thinking for awhile that stealth play is no longer viable in this game. Between the scratch marks, injured noises, pools of blood, Iron Will nerf, footsteps, and the multitude of aura perks killers seem to get every release now, being stealthy is clearly something the devs want done away with.

You need to hide further away or in lockers if you wanna avoid the perk no where to hide.

Killers being able to hear, have common sense and spatial-temporal perception is OP, nerf it...

And yet, parental guidance. A very underrated perk that gets rid of all that stuff very easily.

When Killers log in, their screen should just go black, and their sound should mute.
But they should still get that seizure-inducing red & white flash when flashlight-blinded.

probably crows, you don't need to see the crow fly up if you see a crow fly down it means a survivor has been there. or perhaps they went to your last known location?
on a side note as much as i love nwth perk i hate how it greatly nerfed stealth it made distortion essential. and it's clear with the constant addition of aura perks every chapter that the devs want to nerf stealth.

Pre-nerf Iron Will was unhealthy design. 100% volume reduction that lasted infinitely and was unconditional was stupid design.

Oh god this reminds of toxic TTVs who accuse everyone who plays killer of sniping just because they see their aura from BBQ lol

New perk: BBQ & Sniping
No, but I recommend going into a custom game and getting familiar with every perk killers have before jumping into accusations. Also take note of what perks they’re using at Match Result. I’d say if they weren’t using aura-reading perks and saw you from a great distance, could be filters or something sus.

Sounds like a cheerful dude who blames any loss he has on someone 'cheating', if he came up with excuses for a friendly comment off the bat. 😂

I’d actually even argue survivors have too much vision. They can usually see you coming a mile away and hold w ad nauseum. There should be a lot more line of sight blockers.

Survivors 3rd Person
Killer 1st person
Killer has too much vision.
Best what I have heard today. Thumbs up!

Devs decided to kill stealth gameplay year after year.
Always consider:
- LP at start, denying early stealth in sub-optimal area (e.g., outer border in Pale Rose)
- BBQ/S:FoR denying - more or less - stealth in the middle of game
- NWH after gen kick, denying stealth around generators (pretty huge radius)
- ...
This gameplay is dead unless:
- you already know the killer loadout (usually, lots of slowdowns)
- or you play Distorsion perk

Distortion is really nice since 6.1.0

You forgot about lockers all but lethal pursuer can be beat by lockers as well or hiding your aura behind a gen if you know the general direction the killer is in.

Perks are not the only reasons that the killer finds you, you should know that experienced killers can be pretty good at tracking without the needs of such perks; and you may have done one or two of these things wrong that let to your inevitable discovery.
*hiding in a locker for more then 60 seconds, will have afk crows swarming your locker.
*hiding and standing behind cover or in a bush without activity would also alert afk crows; if you have ears you can her them cawing and so does the killer
*killer might have certain addons at reveals Survivor's aura under certain conditions; such as Wraith's all seeing
*if you are injured, the killer is going to have a much easier time to track you if are leaving blood and panting in pain, which even though it is muffle in lockers it's still audible.
*running will leave scratch marks, especially you shouldn't run along the border of the maps as it makes the scratches marks far visible from a distance.
*making sounds such as opening lockers, working on bones, working on gens, etx. Can alert or give the Killer's hints you are near. (Yes, even opening the locker slowly makes a faint creek sound if the killer is somewhat close)
*making progress on bones, totems, chest openings, etc. Will gives killer hints that you are nearby or were nearby recently.
*teammates, especially soloQ random will run into you and make you the new target
*Even if none of these things are involved, the killer might have beef up their volume in their setting and TV and expenseive headphones and heard you. Sound is clearly a definite way to track Survivors beside sights
*if all else fails, then the the killer is possible cheating or... most likely and fun case scenario... they make excellent educate guess and figure you must be hiding that locker. This game is full of random things, and your were unlucky enough to get found out by the first locker they mostly didn't think you were not in there yet were.
Either way I wouldn't go nerfing killers, as you playing immersive especially as a Solo Survivor Perk running hiding in locker; as hiding isn't always the best way to play DBD to win. And if you relie on it to win, relie on hiding; you will be disappointed.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

They didn't kill it, they just made it require perks and active decision making. There's a difference, and I for one think stealth being something you have to commit to is perfectly serviceable.
2 -
Pretty much this. Every time I think about hiding or doing some kind of stealth play I immediately think the killer probably has a perk that'll make it pointless.

Stealth gameplay can be fun, but it often requires you to linger in places for too long, which can be used against you even if you aren't visible. Perks aren't always necessary to find people as others have mentioned, but one perk that can turn stealth against a survivor is Whispers. It can be used to triangulate a single survivors location - no aura reading necessary, just a process of elimination that's possible because someone is staying in an area for too long.
Most people don't use whispers, but it's helpful as killer when you're in the MMR range of people who like to hide.
Honestly, if you're going to hide, you're going to lose, because your progress will be much slower than the killer's. Your best bet is to get good at using the killer's limited FoV against them, like during animations and such. It's like active stealth, where you only use stealth tactics when the killer is nearby, and knowing when/where/how to hide when the killer can't move their camera. I don't know if he's around anymore, but the streamer ZubatLeL (sp?) had some funny and clever videos doing this kind of thing.

Meanwhile, Distortion and Fixated/Self Aware exist. Even Lightweight helps.
It's not easy to be stealthy, but there are options.

True. But they don't want survs to loop or run the killer too long either these days so who knows which playstyle is being encouraged.
0 -
If you wanna play sneaky playstyle I recommend to use distortion, since theres more aura reading perks for killers nowadays

Immediately a good example that comes to mind is Corner-Teching.
