I think this would help solo queue!

One of the major problems I find I run into with solo queue players is that there isn't much communication unless they are on pc and chat before the match. However I wondered: why would we need to chat if we had a 'role' system? Before hopping into queue you can select certain behaviors, such as unhook/healing and looper- or just select your general playstyle (I.E. objective based, or altruism, etc.) that way people would have a general idea of what you are going to do in the match. It might not be as good when compared to seeing what perks the other people are running, but it's a good enough alternative I would think!

An example: I like to use a build that let's me heal really fast when I unhook someone or they are downed. In this theoretical system I could put either altruistic, or unhook and healing if we get specific options, and then others would know I am inclined to do it instead of going themselves and preventing me from benefiting from my build!

I'll be the first to admit it isn't perfect, but having the option to communicate ahead of time what you intend to do in match with both console and pc players without having to spend time scrambling to type your plan in less than a minute, is a huge difference that would be really healthy for the game for solo q without making SWF an unbeatable threat.

I'm up for suggestions as to how to improve this idea, but I figured it would be good to put it out there.

At that point, why not just show us each other perk builds alongside that?

Don't get me wrong, I would love that. However considering the matchmaking timer is less than a minute, it might take a while to read each perk and get an understanding of what they intend to do. This would streamline that process by basically just telling others what the overall end goal of the perks you equipped are for. I probably should have mentioned this, but i imagined you could attach a playstyle to each perk-build you have equipped, that way if you switch before the match it will show your new intended role without you having to change it directly (although directly changing it should also be an option as well if people decide to mix up perks right before the match). People wouldn't have time to read 12 different perks and interpret the build from them for each of the three other survivors, especially if people change around their build.
