Why the hell can I complete a gen alone in under 40 seconds? How is this a thing.
I saw videos from content creators how fast you can complete a gen and wow who the hell thought this is a good idea?
I am not talking about the perks or items themselves but the fact that there is no restriction/limitation how hard you can speed up gen repairs. There is a simple solution many other games have, I know it will not happen and this Post here is basically talking to a wall because the devs are not listening since years but here is a simple idea anyways.
A normal repair takes 90 seconds
With Teammates this speeds up
With toolboxes this speeds up
With perks this speeds up
You can combine these things BUT there is a limit on what the game actually counts.
90 seconds / 100%
Let's say that the maximum amount of % you can speed up a gen solo is 75% and with Teammates is 50%
So for a example you work with 4 Teammates on a gen. Together the gen only needs 45 seconds. Let's say all four survivors have a toolbox. The time needed will still stay 45 seconds.

Imo both speed and slowdown in this game need a hard cap implemented.
This would apply to gen progress and regression, healing speeds, and debuffs. The fact that this isn't in the game yet is mind boggling. There's no reason a single gen should be able to vary between about 20 seconds (3 surv using toolboxes + 3xBNP) to over 180 seconds with Thana, Pentimento, Dying Light.
I understand that might be harder to convey to newer players, but the overall game would benefit.

I slipped a disc in November so had a lot of time on my hands! One morning I saw a stream of 4 UK YouTubers seeing how quickly they could do all the gens and get the doors open. It took 2m 27s. Obviously they all had purple toolboxes, BNPs, a couple of proves and the door opener had Wake Up plus a couple of other perks I can't remember, but that is quite insane

Those hyper gen speeds aren't really a thing outside of a controlled lab setting. Try running the build in 20 matches or so. It's rare to get full value out of it for a fast gen, and you leave yourself completely defenseless and utility-less. There's a reason survivors aren't running those loadouts constantly. You'll see BNPs, but Hyperfocus/Stake-out is hilariously overrated by people who haven't actually run it.

You need a toolbox with the best possible addons, basically your entire build dedicated to it, and the killer can STILL interrupt your gen. If it was as strong as you're making it out to be then everyone would be running that

ahh wasn’t that ayrun and them?

Yeah. As someone has said earlier, you'll probably never play against it in a thousand or more matches of Solo Q as a killer, but just shows what a coordinated SWF can do on this game!

You can complete a gen with friends in 2 seconds :)

Well coordinated SWFs can pull it off, but not always. Most don't play like that though, I imagine because games that end quickly can be boring. I play solo and have been playing for a couple years now and very rarely see fast gens going off in my games. Content creators like to showcase these things because they get views and get people talking. Their job is literally playing the game. But it doesn't mean it's the norm nor that it needs a cap.
