Why wasn’t pin head’s abuse of the snowman instantly fixed?
Pinhead sitting on his box in a snowman should had been instantly fixed- why does this game take so long to address issues? Things like this make people not want to play.

Because the snowmen don't have any impact? If Pinhead chooses to stand over the box without the snowmen you still can't pick it up.

A few reasons.....
1. It's possible that no one was reporting it in the Bugs section.
2. It may of been known but with all the Holidays no one was in the office to do any work on said issue.
3. It's not a big enough issue to deal with since they were preparing for the mid chapter PTB and didn't have time or bandwidth to fix it.

You wanted BHVR to do something to stop one killer from doing one strat that throws the game for himself that only works during a limited time event?
This is a big deal?
1 -
I mean, if he's just standing on the box, he's not stopping gens, is he? Slowing them down, sure, but you can still do 'em.
3 -
Probably the same reason as why they haven't fixed the...trick (see: exploit) to never get AFK crows.
It's just not a priority.
2 -
Limited time event, probably no point. I'm pretty anti-DC but this would be one of those times I'd forgive it tbh because the killer is clearly trolling and not interested in an actual game. I couldn't imagine anything worse than trying to do gens during a neverending chain hunt. I'd rather go do housework.

These sum it up. Since it is possible (just horribly painfully long) to finish the gens during that, the Killswitch doesn't really apply imo.
Most likely the holidays vacation, plus the fact that it can take a week or so for an update to be approved by the consoles, are the main reasons this is still a thing.

Except if he is using ruin.

The common (someone made a YouTube video) build for this is hex: face the darkness, sloppy butcher, hex: thrill of the hunt, and insidious. Combined with the add-ons that block survivors from seeing the box and one that shows the cenobite the box location.
You injure one survivor and go stand on top of the box for the rest of the game.
So there's a permanent chain hunt because you're body blocking it. Face the darkness can't be cleansed because, with thrill, it takes 28 seconds to cleanse the totem, but they are forced to scream and interrupt the cleanse every 25 seconds. You can't heal the injured survivor because of sloppy and the interrupts.
The game is a win, but is guaranteed to be an excruciatingly long match for survivors.
With the snowmen, you get insidious for free and can put ruin in for even longer matches. At that point, you have a 45 minute slog for survivors who basically earn nothing in two categories for the game.
And the killer can go afk after the first minute.
Edit: autocorrect.

Oh I'm not saying this isn't an issue, but I just don't see it being pressing enough for the devs to fix it before the event comes to an end.

The devs took like two weeks off and didn’t fix any issues with the game, including broken servers that made it impossible for some people to play the game at all

It's possible to cleanse ruin during chain hunt. Though it would require a bit of coordination with other survivors as someone would need to body block chains for the cleanser.
AFK pinhead sucks to face (luckily I haven't dealt with it personally), but it doesn't seem to be that common of an issue, because there's no actual end goal to it. AFK Pig had the end goal of actually killing someone although it wasn't guaranteed.

That's lowkey pretty funny actually. It would be a nightmare, but funny none the less.

The survivor who is injured can still cleanse the totem since they don't scream and other survivors can just body block for them to cleanse the totem to avoid chains.

Are you joking? This is literally solo queue we are talking about. Not everyone has the game knowledge to think about body blocking chain hunts. By the time a solo q team would coordinate to do anything, the 1 hour mark is hit and the game ends.
3 -
I'm not joking.
While SoloQ can rough, I've certainly encountered players who have good game sense to do that kind of thing. I'm not saying it's easy, but there's no point in which an AFK Pinhead is capable to stopping the game from progressing completely.

The build is no different from the old AFK Pig build people used to run before they changed the pig box mechanic to make it impossible.
It's counterable if you know exactly what to do AND you coordinate with other survivors nearly perfectly. So SWF/comms can, but good luck getting solo q to do it.
Not to mention, the killer isn't trying to get downs, hooks, or kills with this particular strat. This is the definition of griefing and is reportable according to the game rules.

I would say it's easier for Solo Q to counter AFK pinhead compared to AFK pig if only by the fact the only way to counter afk pig is to 99% gens and then pop them immediately so the last guy can get hatch. But by the time solo q would realize there's an afk pig, a gen is likely already done. Also this doesn't really work if 2+ people got unlucky to have their key in the same box.
AFK Pinhead slows the game down a lot, but solo q has more than enough time to figure out what's going on and deal with it since there's no threat of ever dying to pinhead.
I don't disagree that it's griefing, but honestly I'm unsure if anyone was or will get banned for doing this.

I don't understand why you keep defending this strategy. It is not something that has any place in the game. At no point should any team have to spend 45 minutes to do the gens because the killer is AFK.
1 -
I'm not defending it. I'm just pointing out how it can be dealt with.
