Freddy.

What on God's Green Earth can the devs do to fix Freddy? His old power was dreadfully weak, his new power is boring to face, he's weak, his add-ons are the video game equivalent of force feeding someone salt to kill them, his license holders don't care about him. Oh yeah and he's also the kiddie diddler version. People talk about how much the devs hate Twins and Pig, but at least BHVR have taken steps to fixing them, Freddy was weak, then he got a rework, then he got nerfed back into weak again.

    Still nothing to justify why this version of Freddy is "boring to face." What's more boring? Just falling asleep, or having to contend with dream snares/pallets and teleports as well?

    I'm telling you, you undo the nerf, he still won't come close to being strong in the modern meta, because he wasn't even back then. That's just step 1. From there, you give him other buffs, like the very much needed qol change of being able to place snares, and not fidget around with it until it decides it can spawn somewhere.

    I would remove Snares + Pallets and give him a different Anti-Loop + several Addons NEEDS TO GET ADRESSED.

    He is currently a weaker version of Clown, Sadako and Dredge all coming together. He has reached the bottom of everyones tierlists and thats deserved.

    D-Tier, absolutely no chance someone would put him at least in C-Tier in his current state. I would say bottom 3 (same like his Pickrate btw.)

    On top of this he has TERRIBLY BAD Addons.

    The fact that he loses his power as the game progresses is a big issue. Completed gens remove teleport locations, and once the exits are powered he's just a basic M1 killer.

    He could do with something that increases as gens are completed.

    Maybe the sleep timer decreases by 10 seconds for each completed generator, so survivors end up falling asleep quicker. This would mean more survivors are asleep more as the game progresses, which reduces his cooldown.

    Then maybe when all gens are completed he gets a 1% Haste for each survivor in the dreamworld.

    You could do the Dredge-Addon (purple!) into the Paint Brush (everyone falls asleep after all gens are done immedialy on top of the current effect).

    On top of it, he should be able to teleport to completed gens (highlighted in whatever color).

    That could be a good Iri add-on, teleporting to completed gens. Maybe instead of the Black Box. With the addition of something like I suggested before, that would be a valuable Iri.

    Well... I would take whatever I can. Freddy is the purest M1-Killer in the game with a minor Basekit-Slowdown.

    If I compare Snares with Clowns purple Bottle... no, I should not do this. Or Clowns Aurareading while in the yellow smoke with the purple Addon.... awesome... Freddy with no viable Aurareading-Addon on top.

    Its painful to be a Freddy-Main sometimes.

    His anti loop is weak and u gotta have them in the dream world just to use it.

    Freddy's dreamworld needs to do something because currently all it does is allow survivors to interact with your power and give you a minor cooldown decrease to the teleport. I'd say it needs to be more like Dredge's power but I already feel like Dredge is kind of a better freddy anyway? While this isn't the best idea out there but I've made suggestions before where when survivors are in the dreamworld, any other survivors more than 16m away from their position look like freddy, mimick his movements and even have the red stain along with a tiny, fake lullaby. It won't fool everyone but I feel like it gives a little more flavour and personality to his power and I think it'd fit him pretty well.

    It's quite sad. Players complained about how strong Freddy was after his rework and then complained about his Forever Freddy builds. All the devs needed to do was give Freddy an add-on pass, increase him to 7 blood pools from 5, get rid of his slow movement while placing puddles and allow him to use his power when all the gens are completed via allowing him to teleport to the exit gate handles. Freddy will be way better with these changes.

    Personally, if I were put in charge of spinning out some ideas for how to address Freddy, I'd look at making him more interesting and fun before I look at trying to make him stronger. The way I would achieve that is twofold.

    1: Make snares and pallets basekit, have him cycle through them like Clown swapping bottles. The pallets are by far the most interesting part of current Freddy, and you have to give up the more useful power to even use them when I genuinely believe there's no reason. It wouldn't be OP for him to have both pallets and snares, so just let him have both. Maybe up his ammo count a little so it can be shared between both.

    2: Complete addon overhaul that chucks out basically everything he currently has, in favour of addons that give him more fake objects. Fake chests as the lower rarity, fake hex totems that flicker and crackle like the real thing, fake generators that appear partially repaired and just begging to be interacted with... these would function slightly differently to one another, in that I think just touching a fake generator causes it to disappear and you to scream, but fake totems let you actually finish them (without being affected by any buffs or debuffs to totem speed) before they disappear and you also, scream. Higher rarity versions of these addons could also inflict status effects and such. Basically, have the dream world be his to control, where survivors can't trust their eyes and ears because anything could be fake-- give them some pressure to want to wake up without just slapping a flat action speed penalty on them. More interesting for both parties, even if it may not be all that much stronger.

    (As an aside, Freddy is a predator in both incarnations, it's just more subtextual in the originals. Or so I'm given to believe, I never watched the remake.)

    The Dream World just needs an actual downside that makes Survivors WANT to wake up.

    I dunno what that could be...

    IE - Maybe a second timer that starts when they are asleep (and not in chase)....gaining aura reveal or something after staying in the Dream World for 1-2 minutes...

    Aura would probably be great as it would compliment his power to teleport and create chase potential if they do not try to wake up as well as the opportunity to intercept people as they do.

    It would also add some sort of weight to the increasing duration of the 'Wake Up' action.

    If u are asleep, another timer start. After 45secs, you suffer from the Deep Dream-Status-Effect. This Status-Effect allows the killer to see the aura of you, if u are further away than 32m from the killer (not paired with Terror-Radius, because Freddy has no TR in Dream).

    This would make the Dreamworld a place u want to leave.

    Besides this, Snares + Pallets Basekit and some QoL-Addon-Changes.
