I'm not surprised at BHVR's greed. (Removing Winter Cosmetics.)
Well, well, well. Look at what we have here. BHVR introducing a new way to ######### us over! ^-^
They release skins that break their own "Free after 4 weeks" rule, and exploit FOMO! Honestly, it's disappointing to see BHVR using tactics you'd see in OW2.
Vote with your wallets. Don't buy more. If they stop making cosmetic money, they'll revert the changes.

FOMO preys on customers, and BHVR's using more and more awful tactics to try to sell skins. Please, don't try to defend this. They get money from DLCs and people BUYING THE GAME already, they don't need to rip us off more.
If this post could convince 5 people to stop buying cosmetics, I'd be happy. We need to show BHVR that we aren't going to put up with this.

Yeah. I can only hope the higher ups start listening for once. I swear, it's like they WANT me to go back to Java minecraft (where all the skins are free, and fully customizable.)

There's no issue to understand if the cosmetics were not coming back and we're gone forever then there would be understanding of FOMO but multiple times by multiple sources when the announcement first came out said that they would be back next year....the only thing that's up in the air is if when they come back is if they will be for sale for shards or not.

Still annoying having limited time cosmetics. Especially with the whole "we dont want to have limited/exclusive cosmetics" then do this. So that makes it a total of THREE times they went back on what they said.

Yea I agree it's very annoying but all this talk about FOMO and all that is kinda blown out of the water since they said it all will be back next year.
Now if we are talking about a battle pass then it's FOMO because let's use Rainbow Six Seige for example, each Battle Pass has cosmetics you cant get anywhere else and if you don't buy the premium pass then you'll miss out on them.....now that's FOMO because once it's gone it's gone

Tbh it doesn't bother me. I got everything I was interested in. And probably 95% I will not equip again until next November. I understand that it's a sales tactic and kinda sucks and I feel bad for people who are missing out on things, but it's not a big enough issue for me to really criticize Bhvr over.

No they are disagreeing if that is considered FOMO since they are coming back next year there is no fear of missing out because they will be back.....if they were going to be permanently removed to never come back then yes I would agree that's FOMO

Ok first off.....thank you for actually giving a source and it's the one I thought you would give based on how you were responding.
I think that's where our disconnect is coming from.....it says in the Wiki what you are saying but if you read on it uses specifically the example of a battle pass....so it's up to our own interpretation of what would also be included into this and where our opinions differ on the situation

I see we have the return of the "how is it FOMO when we have BHVR's word to go on that they'll bring them back in future" and "how is it scummy to remove things that have been year round" and "all these were obviously seasonal things and didn't included a bunch of stuff only tangentially involved with the holidays" arguments.
So let's break it down one a time:
1) "They'll be back next year." BHVR has, in fact, already walked back multiple times on saying they don't want limited skins, and that skins will become available with iri shards after four weeks (since they then modified that to exclude limited ones), and seemingly given up on putting old rift cosmetics in the shop. Even if you don't think it counts as FOMO if it'll be back some time in future, that's putting an awful lot of trust in BHVR's words regarding cosmetics. There's enough reason to be sceptical that some things might be gone forever--enough to cause FOMO now, and doubly so if it comes true.
2) As noted, some of the 'seasonal' things used to be available all year round. For iri shards. They have now been taken out of the shop, making them 'exclusive' to try and get you to spend to get them now rather than hope you have enough saved when they come back next year. If they come back next year. If they come back next year and now aren't auric cell only like all the other limiteds.
3) "Who sells holiday themed stuff outside of holidays?" Ignoring 'every major retailer with a web presence' as an answer, you're going to have to explain real hard how things like pyjamas are Christmas themed, or how vaguely wintery clothing is therefore a holiday promotion and should only be available for one month a year.

Just for later reference. I bought Feng Min Pajamas and the full outfit was 21,000 Iri shards. I couldn't buy Mikaela's similar Cozy Break collection with Iri shards, only AC. If/when Feng Min Pajamas come back then this comment serves as a reminder that they did cost Iri shards as of Winter Event 2022.

What you’re complaining about has nothing to do with gameplay. It’s more than likely related to sales, which is what businesses / companies do… they have to make money.. what is the beef about having seasonal skins that are available for THAT season only?
