Why are the newer maps bright & in daylight?

What happened to the dark atmosphere? The mist? Granted the mist and it’s addons never really had an impact, but still…
Why is BHVR taking this direction with the maps where you can see everything for miles?

I think they did this with the intention in mind to make the maps look more modern but I think that was pretty unnessecary

I have no idea why this is, but BHVR don't seem sure how to balance the lighting/color schemes in maps.
- Eyrie is absurdly bright, which completely hoses Trapper and Hag.
- Garden of Joy has way too dark an interior on the main structure, even now.
- Borgo...yes, making a map with the same color scheme as auras and scratch marks was a fantastic idea.

Probably because there's alot of players using filters to brighten the game when it was darker so by making maps brighter it lessens the advantage those players were getting.

There have been a lot of issues with the brightness levels on some maps, making certain areas (mostly indoors) absolutely invisible to some players, and bright for others, and BHVRs response has essentially been to just whale the brightness slider all the way up and turn the basement into the surface of the sun

Because the game is called "deadbydaylight" 🥁badum tsss
2 -
Because the game stopped being 'Dead By Daylight' once Survivors got so many buffs.
Now it's 'Twerk By Midafternoon.' 😁

Solid point. Didn't think of that. Especially streamers always wanting the game to be as bright as possible.

I put something similar here https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/361055/climatic-variations-in-the-maps-maybe-offerings-day-night-rain-storm-etc#latest
BHVR need more climatic variations on maps, like coldwind (day), coldwind (night) coldwind (raining) colwind (thunderstorm) whatever. We need more variations about atmosphere. not just RNG

this can work really well IF dbd optimization wasnt that awful but imagine if it wasnt , the possibilities for RNG weather would be really cool to see
