Since Pyjamas are clearly only worn around Christmas and never again, this was removed 2 days ago. Because forcibly limiting supply is good, apparently.
37 -
nobody would ever wear a hoodie at any other time of year, naturally
16 -
BHVR have decided that it's obviously a Christmas outfit only, definitely not something someone would wear year round or would mix/match with other year round cosmetics.
10 -
Yet again they do this extra non sense when no one was asking.. instead of focusing on more important things such as game balance and bugs. Gj.

bhvr exexs:

They do it because ... huh ... immersive! Like reality, everything winter-related disapeears once the new year begins! Like Cinderella!
6 -
People only wear pyjamas at Christmas, thus they are never allowed to purchase them at any other time.
8 -
BHVR removed it because winter is apparently the only time you can wear PJs. Also because removing cosmetics from the game and limiting the supply/variety is very important.
9 -
Shame. That's one of her best outfits too.
2 -
It's bad enough that they changed a bunch of permanent outfits into limited time outfits, but some of the outfits weren't even christmas skins or even winter-themed skins. The PJs being removed is just baffling, as are a select few other skins like that Twins skin. Zero at all to do with christmas/winter/festivities, just removed because BHVR arbitrarily thought to remove it.
6 -
Honestly I'd stop wasting your money on skins from here on out. BHVR has made their stance on FOMO tactics very clear, and it really wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't stay at holiday/event-related skins. They'll probably start doing the same with other things in the future.

It's a seasonal item so will be back next December.
Also, the pyjama descriptions (all of them) refer to the holiday season. So even though they don't seem like holiday cosmetics, they were obviously released intending to be so

Yes, and BHVR changed their mind.
Some people seem to be physically pained by the idea of accepting that BHVR did a bad thing, no matter how minor or major it is, and will insist that this is all fine, logical, and totally necessary until the cows come home. No point arguing with them about it.

Here we see player #546433478 that does not understand the difference between the art department and the coding department.
2 -
The art department didn't design the limited-time-ness into the outfits. That's not art, those outfits leaving the store is a feature. The coding department had to add that new feature into the game. That actually required more work than just leaving the cosmetics in the game store like normal.
4 -
That doesn't mean the guy that goes in and tinkers with the store is the same guy decoding bug fixes.
I swear, people think video game companies have like 1 hundred employees that all have the exact same job, and they just assign them wherever.

BHVR exexs won't kiss you bro

At a restaurant you go into the kitchen to complain to the cooks when the waitress spills hot coffee on you?
Not at all saying I agree with them removing these outfits, but... cosmetics and game balance are two completely different jobs within the company... You don't WANT the waitress cooking your food, that's not what she was hired for.
1 -
I never said or implied any of that at all. I just stuck to "art department" and "coding department" because those were what you mentioned, and between those two tinkering with the store inside the game should be outside the art department's responsibilities.
BHVR spent time and money changing pre-existing cosmetics in the store to now only be available for a limited time each year. It doesn't matter what specific person or people BHVR used, time and money (which are finite resources) were expended to make these changes. There are a lot of other features, including cosmetic and store-related features, customers actually want. BHVR could've left well enough alone and put their resources into something else. This was a waste of time and effort, and all it's done is made a lot of their customers unhappy and the other customers are just indifferent. There's no increase in customer satisfaction or user experience with this change, and it would have been less effort on BHVR's part to just leave the cosmetics in the store.
The original comment you replied to was still correct: BHVR should've focused on something else. (There's no need to focus on their examples of balance and bug fixes, no one wants to list everything else BHVR could've focused on, those are just the first two every person who plays DbD thinks of.) You made it about departments, but in the end it all comes down to resources: time, money, people. This change wasn't made in a bubble.

You really think that "time and money" was not one dude in the span of a single afternoon?
0 -
Given BHVR's track record, no, it was more likely 3 people ove the course of 2 weeks
6 -
Marketing department.
Don't make the art team look bad they are awesome
2 -
Okay, that's fair.
2 -
It became limited time along with every winter item (Even including sweaters for some reason) because BHVR are following the FOMO trend other games have adopted
3 -
Still haven't see a single pep being happy with these changes and wishing for more, so I am guessing this is gonna be walked back, right? Right?
3 -
BHVR is 'listening to feedback' now, remember
4 -
I think it was all sandwiched into one line listing all the cosmetics that were going. People kept mentioning that these were going as well when criticising the change; it wasn't something there was no warning for.
And they're gone because they were released at Christmas the year before and basically no other reason.
4 -
No they're clearly gone because sleepwear is never used outside of the months of November, December, and very early January.
6 -
I'm pretty sure they removed them so they can keep cosmetics like Mikaelas as auric cell only forever since they have decided time limited cosmetics are not included in the "all original non-licensed cosmetics will be available for shards after 4 weeks."
1 -
Funny you should mention the discount, all the items leaving had their Auric cell price discounted except for The Cozy Collection, I bugged it, but no response from BHVR.
