Sound adjustment??
What’s the possibility that we could have the option to adjust the music volume down some? Not all the way, although, that is tempting, but when playing as killer it is almost sensory overload.

That is on purpose. It is meant to make it harder to hear other sounds.

I get that, but it’s too much. In most games I shut music off completely because it’s always too loud and obnoxious.

Sorry but if there was an option, 99.99% of Killers would use it to lower the music as much as allowed.
I remember playing a year or two (maybe 3?) back, when there was a bug that would prevent chase music from starting for Killers. Survivors could not hide (I could clearly hear breathing) could not juke (I could clearly hear if they were on my right or left), and I knew if a gen was being worked on, because the sounds were so loud without music.
It felt so much like cheating, even though it was not anything I did, that I had to stop playing Killer until it was fixed.

My 2 cents: Depending on the Audio source, It can be or not.
Regular Speakers: Music/effects do a really good job of masking useful sounds for tracking
Low quality headphones: With base level stereo audio, I can pick out direction, but still some audio still misleads me (crackling fire always sound like footsteps to me.)
High quality headphones: With my best headset, the music is omni-directional, but breathing, environmental effects and foot steps can be clearly heard and from the which direction.
Like listening to a fine selection of music, the audio equipment will determine just how it will sound to the listener.
Yes, the music can be distracting. No not everyone has a really good headset to use. I assume that BHVR has tweaked the audio based on the best possible setup that can used, not realizing some only have 2 basic speakers for audio.
