For survivors: Communicating as killer with a survivor in-game
Ok, so I usually am pretty nice during the game and if I am in a position to get a 4K but the survivors played a nice game then I am willing to let the fourth escape BUT if you are carrying any items then I will require those. Give me a bit of "murder memorabilia", if you will. So gimme your med-kit, flashlight, toolbox.
The trouble I run into is that survivors seem to not understand that I want their item. I look at the item, move over to the side of the item, I fake charge my shock therapy (I usually play as The Doctor), yank em off the exit gate and let them escape.
So my question is: What would make it clear to you that I want your item in exchange for letting you escape?

I wouldn't think it matter it not like killers get to really keep it. lol

Really, nothing.
Some survivors don't even know about this stuff. Some of them think it's stupid to give items bc killers can't take it. Some of them think smth else. All of them won't understand you no matter what. Some of survivors even use this as a gesture only, so after putting item down they take it back. In THIS case sometimes it's possible to make it clear you want their item on ground but that's it.
You just can't be the offering side here. Either you let this survivor go and then they probably will give their item as a gratitude, or they must be first one who offers an exchange. I'm trying to give killers my items because I think it's a nice tradition and I don't mind loose them, especially as a thanks for mercy. But if I don't do that myself I doubt I can get this ides from killer... It's more clear when killer wan't me NOT TO leave my item on the ground x)
But you can text them (if possible). I think, that's the only way to make it clearly clear.

It doesn't matter in that sense. I just want prezzies. After all, they touched my gens and DBD is not consent.

If the killer seems potentially friendly I'll for sure give them my item if I have one ! =)
I've never considered how to ask for it as killer, what you're doing as Doctor is already pretty smart haha ! Doc going "Gimme ! Gimme gimme gimme !" !
I'm also often a friendly killer in the end, so I do get presents but mostly after I let them go, not as a bargain. I have no idea how you can ask for items... I'll have to think on it ! =D
