Kill Switch update: Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

How would you feel?

I just got called "hacker" by 2 different survivors in 2 separate matches. All I did was using Bubba with enduring, brutal strength, fire up and bamboozle.

Only explaination I got was "you play on Epic = 99% hacker" and "noob Epic account"...

I don't prefer Hacker, but that's besides the point. If they called me a hacker, I dont know, I'd have a good laugh maybe end with calling them a loser or get good or something.

I would laugh, most people cant just admit when they have been outplayed, on either side so it makes me laugh.

It is usually worth a good laugh because often enough, people will not say why they accuse you of hacking. Just "You know why". Or they will just keep going despite being debunked quite fast.

E.g. yesterday I downed a Nea with Knight (first the guard, then myself). She DCed. I let the other 3 Survivors farm, because they were not really good and I felt bad for them. That Nea waited for 15 minutes, just to tell me that I got reported for "You know why". She did not really tell me tho... Told me that my private profile was suspicious, so I made it public, and then she said my profile is not legit. Half an hour later she added me (I accepted, because it was funny) and just told me that I should not accept strangers on Steam. I dont know, she is either a evil Hackerman or, more likely, forgot some "evidence" for her report (according to her, she stayed in the game in the first place for more "evidence"). Poor Support-guy who will waste time on reading her report...

Another example was a Spirit, claiming I was a Hacker because I did not make any injured-Sounds AND had Endurance TWICE, even long after the Unhook. Pointing her to Off the Record did not help... But I have the suspicion that in this case the player was just unable to accept that they were wrong and just kept going.

But yeah, overall, getting called a Hacker while playing absolutely legit is funny. And sometimes sad when you see that the player accusing you has quite a bunch of hours (e.g. that Nea had 1400...).

Happened to me as well. Even got the -rep on my steam profile marking me as the horrible cheater I am. Needless to say I'm not a hacker but won a match against them pretty decisively by using my killer's power and perks to the max of my ability.

Mostly I politely explain to them what the situation where they thought I was cheating looked like from my perspective. Other than that, see it as a compliment.

Usually, it's pretty funny. Other times, it will occupy my mind for the rest of the evening, trying to figure out why they thought I'd be cheating.

Also, Aven's "you know why" is very familiar. It just amplifies what I'm already feeling.

I'd ignore it, you'll get called a hacker for the smallest things nowadays. Just remember it's always the people who don't understand the game mechanics that'll call you a hacker, I've never once seen a good player accuse somebody of hacking that wasn't.

As another comment said, "wear it as a badge of pride"

My partner got called a hacker because they saw people's auras with Hangman's Trick. A lot of people just don't read perk or power descriptions, even when you point them out to them. Don't sweat it too much.

I see about the same amount of VPN/Wallhack/constatnt BL3 killers on steam and epic. Doesn't really make much difference.

Game client doesn't define you're cheating or not the bans still happen all the same when you're caught. VAC is a joke regardless of that fact EAC is miles ahead when it comes to detection and it's a part of the game so not like its "optional"

I've seen a few of my friends be accused of "speed hacking" as survivor for having lithe/balanced landing and moving so fast when a lot of the time it's just using their perks smartly.

As for people talking about auras I will admit I've been using distortion lately to intentionally catch people out using aura builds. Wallhackers seem to think because it's a part of the game it can't be countered but distortion lasts longer than most aura perks even with lethal stacking.

You know. I haven't been called a hacker in at least 6 months and I play blight. I watch lilith and some random will say a 90 was an indicator of hacking. I guess I don't run iri tag at all any more which is probably the most likely to get called a hacker.

I love hacker accusations. I always take it as a compliment to my skill and big brain plays. I've been accused of wall hacks on lery's before. I'm good at predicting surv's routes and taking short cuts to cut them off. Plus my headset is insanely good so I can follow those footsteps and pain grunts very easily.

I played fps for all my life, getting called a hacker is standard procedure. It means nothing to me. And tbh, I've run into a fair amounts of cheaters recently. So, I understand if players are a little bit paranoid.

I was once reported for stream sniping after a long game against a streamer. I quickly enter their stream as the last surv is sacrificed to see their reaction and here they're reporting me before even seeing my perks.

I ran 4 aura reading perks. After hovering over them, they didn't even mention it, got real quiet and quickly moved on to the next screen.

Hackusations tend to be made by sore losers. Take them as you will, they just mean the player felt the game was unfair somehow.

I play on Anon mode and yeah, I get it a lot. Floods of Rage is generally the cause.
