Why is there a delay to dead hard?
I've seen multiple times now that the 0.5 seconds endurance status window does not come right as you click E
sometimes not even for almost half a second after I vault a pallet altho the promt that says press e for dead hard shows.
I've also come across that the animation starts for a split second but not the endurance effect.
Is this a bug or is this just how the perk is now? and if so why does it not let you know that there is a small delay?🤩

It's intended. It's supposed to be a prediction perk not a reaction perk now. Although I feel the delay varies once in awhile which I can only contribute to latency diff.

Except that's absolutely not true. DH can be used in reaction if the killer has low ping. There are games where you will hit 100% of the time, and games where you will hit 0% of the time. I've noticed survivor streamers get the same results, usually if they miss the 1st dead hard you can tell that they won't hit it once for the whole game. Basically they made it the most inconsistent perk in the game, it's both the best or worst perk depending just on factors outside of your control.

Peanuts literally confirmed that dh has server side validation now. Which means if you have bad ping then dh doesn't function correctly. Just like blight.

But it also means that if you have good ping then there are cases were it functions correctly... so it can be used reactively in this case, provided you have good reaction time.
So here we are in 2023 now the effectiveness of a perk is determined not by the respective players' skill, but by their ping and the server's tickrate, not just 2 things that are outside of your control, but in fact, the game doesn't even tell you the values so you can't adapt your playstyle...

Validation is extremely permissive in general in this game. It's there just to stop lagswitchers. But you can have 250 ping as killer and nothing will get denied.
I play on Frankfurt and I see people go down mid DH animation if the killer is from Russia, but if you get one from Germany DH works instead.
