Potential Energy is both hilarious and effective
Potential Energy is one of the most fun perks to have come to DBD recently, and here's why
Pressing F after being on a gen for 8 seconds will allow you to start storing energy, which is measured in tokens up to a max of 20, one token is earned for every 1.5% of gen progress made, pressing F with any number of tokens will let you use all of them to add 1% of progress to a gen for every token used, you lose a few tokens if you miss a skillcheck while charging, and you lose all of them if you lose a health state
Yes, mathematically you lose progress, however, i don't really think this is a problem, being able to instantly snap 20% progress on any generator is underrated, you can finish a gen after storing max charges while the killer is busy with someone else, and then find another gen and instantly do 1/5th of the total progress, or use PE to break a 3-gen by storing charges on a gen with a low amount of progress and then blow all of the tokens on a gen with higher progress
And, of course, and my personal favourite use of the perk, instantly popping gens in Killers faces when they think it's not close to being finished
I cannot begin to describe the feeling of euphoria i get when PEing a gen right as the killer reaches me, it is a special kind of satisfaction knowing that the killer now probably thinks you're cheating and will absolutely be gunning for you for the rest of the game, nothing beats watching a killer that has been defending a 3-gen religiously completely lose any hope of winning as you pop 20% on a nearly completed gen, winning your team the game. This perk is criminally underused and i really hope more people begin using it
Well, there's that and i want more people to use it so i can look at the cool graphic more often
Please, this graphic is so cool, USE THIS PERK

I want to use it, but losing 33% of progress made on top of losing ALL of it if you lose a health state in any way just makes it too much of a risk.
Wish they'd lower it to 15 stacks instead of 20 and then reduced the token loss from getting hit to 3, or even 0.

Even with all of those niche uses I still think it's #########.

It's unbelievably strong to the point it looks like hacking - but you need a team to get it to work properly as you need people to run interference.
With no risk, this perk would probably be the strongest survivor perk since post rework pre-nerf Boil Over.
I predict that once more groups become savvy to how ludicrous PE can be, it's going to take over the meta.

Please use this perk correctly.
I can't count how many times I've been on a gen with another survivor, they use PE (luckily I'm running PT) only to dump it on that very same gen and use it a second time.

It's a very unique perk and is one of the best perks we have to deal with a 3-gen -if- it's used pre-emptively.
Some people do overuse it though when it would have been far more eficient just to do the gen.

Its hot trash. You lose all the "energy" you have stored if the killer hits you. Waste of a valuable slot.
2 -
I have mixed feels on it. Sure it can break 3-gens. It can also end up being detrimental if the Killer doesn't 3-gen, or you get hit while holding stacks. It's better in SWF where potentially all 4 Survivors could have it. Otherwise I can't justify it taking a perk slot.
The graphic is really cool though.

If you didn't lose all your stacks when you get hit it would be fine. As it is it's not even close to worth the risk.
2 -
If the token loss was zero this would be immensely broken. You can't be serious.
2 -
You still lose time, guaranteed.
1 -
You wouldn't
PE lets you do 20% of a gen instantly if you are able to get all 20 charges, imagine being able to that infinitely with no risk of losing the charges
You would be saving a insane amount of time if you didn't lose stacks, that's why the downside is there in the first place

You do realise that the conversion rate is negative, right? You don't get as much progress out of the perk as you put in.
2 -
imma be real PE is a borderline survivor sandbag perk in normal play. It'll only ever get value in your average normal match if the killer is like actually just trying to waste everyone's time by camping a 3 gen the second the game starts. even then you won't be able to get real value with it if your teammates just do every other gen and prevent you from using PE. Even if all of the former happens you then can get caught by the killer on your way to the gen and immediately lose 30% gen progress with one hit.
Maybe in like actually comp dbd it's good but it's actively a worse than an empty perk slot in the hands of 95% players in 95% of match making games.

This perk is hot garbage. The amount of time(30% repair speed reduction+time to transport) and risk it requires to take is just ridiculous. Those who praise its value have absolutely no knowledge of DBD mechanics.
1 -
It’s a newb trap and the people praising it are killer mains.
2 -
It requires you to sit on a Gen for 8sec to start storing token, that spend another 27sec to store. To transfer 18sec to another Gen.
Im not really good at math, but I think 8 + 27 is greater than 18.
Edit: I just realized that I replied to a long time comment.

If you want a perk to do it… A more reliable and less risky way to deal with 3-gens is Deja Vu. Pair it with a map if you’re forgetful.
1 -
Tbf that 8s isn't lost time, you make 8s of repairs in that timeframe.
But 27s is certainly more than 18s yes.

I completely agree. The only time I'll do this is if the killer's coming and I don't want to risk losing the stacks.
