Is this gen spawn not intended, right?
In the days following the patch update RPD seems to have a weird gen spawn spot. One of them is nearby one of the gate as always, but the gen on the stairs has been transported in the centrary hall literally less than 10 footsteps from the other one.
Ok, the map has been made smaller and reworked so we know that there is no space enough for gens to be far enough apart but come on, no way this is supposed to be an intended feature.

I've seen that since before the update, too. Rarely but I've seen it. Once had 3 gens spawn in that room specifically.
It was a fun match.

That is a very normal gen spawn.

only seen it after the update myself. Two gens should never be that close

Honestly wish they'd just limit it to 1 gen in the main hall at this point, ever since the rework that Mao has been the new 3 gen central
7 -
Yeah since the patch pretty much every game on RPD has had those two spawn and it's brutal. I mean even when it's the usual one downstairs and one upstairs it's still pretty bad but now it's just asking the killer to 3gen.

This.
Two Gens in the Main Hall is just stupid, especially because at least one other Gen will be quite close nearby. Gameplay basically resolves only around the Main Hall, if the Survivors manage to do one or better both Gens in the Hall, they might win. If not, the Killer will win.
This is btw. a recurring thing with recent Map Reworks - the Maps tend to spawn 3-Gens a lot.

The two gens in the main hall shouldn’t spawn that close together every time RPD gets loaded. I hope it is a bug and not an intended change.
1 -
I didn't see that before the update. This should not happen. Gens in such close proximity are not a good idea.
4 -
RPD is not a fair map unless two gens are in the main room.
-"Two Gens in the Main Hall is just stupid"
Counterpoint : maps over a certain size are not fair for about half the killers in the game because they have low mobility and no ability to deal with god pallets.
Every map should have a powerful three generator setup that the killer can choose to defend and it is up to the survivors to break. The stronger the map (like RPD) the stronger the three gen should be.
1 -
Intended or not, that shouldn’t be possible imo.
Having one at the bottom and one at the top is fine. But having one at the bottom and another one in the center right next to it is too close.
2 -
You do realise that the map was literally JUST reworked to reduce its size? 3 gens are not something that should happen without some sort of effort put in by the killer.
4 -
ive seen the gen there before but normally that changes the one near the front desk to the room at the side (the one with the crappy pallet) the one u land if u fall from the horse room. those that close i dont remember but maybe.
i ve seen worse in lerys tbh just a wall separating 2 gens from eachother, the killer just needed a m2 attack to control both at the same time lol it was hilarious.

"Every map should have a powerful three generator setup that the killer can choose to defend and it is up to the survivors to break."
Yeah nothing more fun the game going into a cold war where both sides just kinda look at each other haha

well devs what are yall waiting for?? put this man on the creative team immediately!!

I played RPD as killer a few times today and the survivors had no chance with that gen setup. Devs broke the game again

Here is my brilliant idea, make maps with 6 Gens instead of 7. Whats the point of 7 Gens when 2 Gens should be near to each other?
1 -
I think it is more fair to have the second gen upstairs, but the gens being that close one to another happens sometimes in other maps, for example in the swamp sometimes a gen spawn in the shack or near the shack and other gen spawn about 15 metres away. Anyway survivors can easily finish one gen when there are two very close, just trying to repair one of the gens asap or trying to repair the nearest gen to break a possible endgame three gen, and except the gens in the RPD hall the other ones are not very easy to defend really.

Are you seriously implying that forcing a 2 gen situation would somehow be better than the current 3 gen situations that everyone and their mother hates playing against?
1 -
Remember when people say RPD is survivor sided?
4 -
i just logged on to the forums to complain about this.
had 20+ minute match with a Knight. Of course it was a Kate that was popping on the perimeter gens while poor me and Leon were doing our best to finish the center gens. I don't think the Knight left the center of that map until Sheva and Kate died cuz they couldn't figure out how to loop in my Boone CookieStep.
Anyway, the devs need to fix this NOW.

RPD still has lots of god pallets. It did not go from a ~11000m² map to a 8999m² size map.
When there is only 1 gen in the main room the map is survivor sided.
-"Yeah nothing more fun the game going into a cold war where both sides just kinda look at each other haha"
I chase people but if they shift W then I just return to the 3 gen.
Large maps cannot be played by non mobile killers without 3 gen tactics. This is what you need to ask to be changed.

Only 1 gen in the lobby the map is still one of the most killer sided maps

I've noticed that too. It's a pretty broken spawn. Notice the same on another couple of maps recently since the update. Had a cracked 3 gen on macmillans earlier playing wesker where all the 3 gens were within spitting distance of each other (or more appropriately virulent bound distance) where I went from 2 hooks at one gen remaining (fastest gen rush team I have ever seen in all my time on dbd) to a full on 4k. With zero tunneling or hook camping.
It was quite the game.
Gen spawns need fixing.

Let’s not project now!

Are you seriously think Im serious?

Yeah I've seen it. Those two gens always spawn the same since the update. I'm just hoping it's a bug. A gen used to always guarantee spawn there on old RPD, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Yeah I've been using Deja Vu alot more because of these weird spawns. I'd rather hit one of them immediately and die trying than risk a half hour game.

Large maps + 115% speed killers = an eternity of shift W on large maps.
You either tunnel one person out from the first three hooks or you three gen.
Look at CMWinter who plays pig. He's really good but at the end of the day he plays pig.
You can find games where he gets comp dropped on Coal tower and loses- so you can imagine what happens if he plays on one of the 11,000m² maps vs a similar team.
-"Those two gens always spawn the same since the update."
It's almost as if the devs realized survivors were using RPD offerings and getting free escapes.
