Is there a possibility to get banned for changing perk icons?
Basically title.
Also if you cant get banned for it, is there a possibility that with a future update you could get banned for it?

Why not tho? Cause EAC only bans when the modification is giving me an advantage right?

Fair enough, ty for the response! :)

Technically, this is against the rules. Nobody will revert your ban just because you broke rules in unharmfull way.
They won't spend time to look into all ban cases individually. EAC has its conditions to ban you. If you meet those conditions, that's it. You have super low chances to get its attention just for icons but you never know for sure.

What about unlocking FPS and changing quality of textures etc?

Every blue moon EAC will ban a person for changing game files ( icons for perks fall into this category) and the devs won't be able to unban you

That would be such bullshit tho, like come on, this game has been out for almost 7 years and we still dont have the option to increase the FPS cap + change quality of ALL the textures...

Thats such bs imo...

Very true...

I would not change anything, not worth the risk
I had to manually upgrade my Jill portrait since the rework because for some reason it didn't change for me, it was showing the old Jill with squinting eyes for a long time. I was too afraid that would be caught by the EAC

Well EAC works by banning for changes in game files,,it cannot know if it's icons or not unless there's a workaround like whitelisting those said files or addin an exception kinda like thing

There's no reason to believe that EAC has done this yet. Those people probably got banned for something else and blamed it on icon changes, or installed them incorrectly. Anti-cheats don't just ban random people for one thing while allowing others to do the exact same thing.
If EAC actually does update and bans people for it, it'll probably be in a wide wave where everyone using icon packs gets banned/can't launch the game at once.

BHVR should definetly whitelist all the things said above... Like c'mon now a 7 year old game, locked at 60fps, and cant even change quality of all individual textures lmao

You can’t even change your resolution ingame either… you know, stuff that you could do in games released back in 2008

even devs have stated you might get banned for this regardless if you mess with game files in a "cheating kinda " way or not

I mean, if you're able to change the quality of textures, it also means you could probably lower the quality of textures to take advantage of how the system would render those textures, say the Bush textures on Dead Dawg for example, make them super low to the point that they don't obscure Survivors/scratch marks.

It's highly unlikely to get banned for custom icons, unlocked FPS or the likes. Many players use them, BHVR know about this and I don't know of a single case where someone got banned for it. However, it is technically against EULA so if you end up getting banned, you will stay banned.

My cousin edited our secondary/visitor pc dbd account gamefiles to uncap fps so that could get you banned?

I know many people, including myself and friends that have had the fps unlocked/capped at 120fps since 2016 or 2017. We're not banned 6+ years later.
