DH nerf prediction

So, if DH does get nerfed and becomes useless or completely reworked to be something else entirely.

Killers will have harder matches in general for the majority of players.

I think DH is so popular for survivors just for the fact that it is strong and fun. If everyone just leaves DH and goes for SB, say hello to the hold W meta.

Most survivors just can't get consistent value out of DH and if they all switched to SB, killers would have extremely hard time catching them, as they could always take the killer to where they want, when they want. Making chases way longer since survivors will get a stronger start.

I felt these after a week of trying out SB over DH after months of getting used to the new DH, learning strategies, more favorable situations, baiting.

In the end, while i definitely feel like DH is the more fun perk because of the interaction it gives to the survivor, i honestly feel like i am way stronger with the safe SB.

And Killers will hate it, talk all you want about counter, there is no countering SB you just deal with it.

Dead hard is super fun to use so I'll definitely miss it. Right up there with head on and flash bang

i am totally ok with this as long as i don't have to deal with dh.

when dh change was new there was a variety in exhaustion perks that were used lithe, sb and balanced even overcome cuz of the less speed boost it felt really really good seeing this variety even tho it was for exhaustion perks which are some of the strongest perks Survivors have and this what it should be.

of all the issues with the game the devs thought of preventing map repeats cuz "variety is the spice of life" but seeing the same perks every game is ok? if they really want variety and fun gameplay then perks like eruption and dead hard need to be taken out of the equation.

i'll take an entire team with any kind of exhaustion perk rather than having even a single dead hard in my matches... i hope that it will be erased from the game for good

On nightlight.gg lithe is already used 50% more than sb currently. If they nuke DH then I see all those players gravitating towards lithe instead of SB. At the end of the day exhaustion perks are always going to be annoying for killer to some degree. Personally I want to see a new common exhaustion ran instead of it always being DH. We can even call it a meta shake up.

People talked about 4 man Sprint Burst death juicer squads last time too, but what really happened was that we got actual variety in exhaustion perks for a while.

Just make it not counter instant attacks. So you can still counter abilities, and Nurse and Blight too. You can still counter lunges.

But if the killer catches you off guard and gets right next to you, you're dead, no more stupid "baiting it out" or waiting. They could even buff the speedboost for all I care, I'm just sick of waiting.

I don't really care at this point of what they do to DH, i will be fine. All survivors will be fine. And most survivors will actually be better thanks to not having all of those times DH doesn't work or gets baited.

Eruption is confirmed to be nerfed, i am happy.

If killers really think that nerfing DH is gonna nerf survivors, my prediction is that it's gonna have the opposite effect or no effect at all.

This is not a thread of be careful for what you wish for. Killers want it gone, if bhvr listens, survivors will be just fine. It only sucks that the perk is fun to use (basically the big reason of why people use it).

    Dead Hard won't get touched.

I would be fine if dead hard and eruption both got severely nerfed at the same time. But it has to be a real actual nerf for dead hard, and not a “we’re going to reduce the overall usage, but make it more powerful for the survivors that can use it well” fake nerf that dead hard got.

This game shouldn’t have a survivor parry mechanic, especially when killer has so many startup frames on lunge attacks and some of their special attacks. Parries are fine in PvP games where everyone involved always has the option to use quick attacks that aren’t parried easily (killers don’t always have the option to quick attack, because they can’t always get into point blank range for multiple seconds), or the game has moves that can’t be parried, or the parry timing is very strict. But dead hard’s 0.5 second parry window, with an almost non existent “missed parry animation”, should be removed completely from the game.

Nah. I'm fine with SB. Sure, sometimes a survivor will disengage a chase before I can do anything but that is still better than running after the survivor, getting the first hit, catching up again, trying to mindgame or play around safe structures, eventually outplaying them and THEN eating a DH.

I hate that perk. I want to see it burn in hell.

They can't switch meta keeping DH like this it has to be nerfed. And this is what we want also metas are so boring. I would be happy using Lithe and such but I would never swich DH in current state it's just too good. And old DH was even better.

I don't think we will see DH changed again for a while. Killers try to lump it in with eruption because it gives some credence to their "just wait it out!" argument. The reality is a good SB/Lithe gamer is scarier than a good DH user. Because in the DH instance there is counter-play, the counter-play to SB and Lithe is to drop chase and find someone else.

Really? I only see it after I'm/teammates are hit so we all have assume every killer has it

Then more than half the perks in this game are badly designed. Most perks do not give you any warning of them being in play until they are revealed, which DH falls in the same category, if the survivor is injured they can have DH, if you see the animation, now you know. This goes for survivor and killer.

The job of the player is adapting to the information that you gather.

I legit don't care at this point, the perk doesn't really annoy me as killer, and i can survive without it as survivor. I really am just sad that the perk is fun to use.

This false talking point was brought up before the first DH pass. After the dust settled, we still saw plenty of DH's and only one person created a thread complaining about SB, the thread appeared ironic.

SB is not the better exhaustion perk, and it requires a lot more skill and knowledge to get more value then "OH I SB'd at the start now you have to take a few more seconds to catch up to me."

As opposed to, you know, DH providing multiple ways to reset a chase completely.

Are we back on the "Sprint Burst is secretly the best perk in the game and the survivor hive mind is just choosing to not leverage it just...because!" Copium of 6.1.0 before the DH remake details were dropped.

Its so funny you say that. If dh is gone, and ppl use SB, killers will complain how it takes no skill to use(same excuse they used for old dh). Yet, new dh was that perk that required skill to use.

The better survivors adapt with a perk, the more possibility that killers will complain they are not getting their 4ks and want it nerfed. Crazy freakin cycle

Honestly it's kinda funny because if DH loses its spot to other exhaustion perks like lithe or SB games will be even more hell

I, and most people, wouldn't care? Dead Hard is just that annoying. Having to play around it if you COULD get a hit but don't KNOW is the worst feeling in a game, especially when they then don't have it. "Oh, I can't play the game normally as designed, I have to wait a few seconds to see if you're going to try a dodge or not ho hum, guess I don't use my power either."

dead hard is literally the only fun perk in this game.
