only 60% kill rate ? LIE! without hatch and dc it would be more!
If someone escapes through the hatch then it counts as an escape and the killer only has 3 kills but the question here is someone dcing I doubt bhvr will count it as a kill which makes the stats useless and not true to reality, I mean your oh so great no skill based MM is also set up like this, Hatch escape = no increase for your MMR only if you do 5 gens and escape through the gate
bhvr can you please show the statistics how often 5 gens go on and how many then escape there (i.e. only by 5 gens on) and I would also like to see how many times the solo q turns 5 gens on and how many then through the exit gate escape

How about survivors only DC when the PC does it and not on purpose? Then u have the "real stats". Of course suicide on hook must be removed, so no 4% anymore to make it more realistic.

How about DCs with 5 gens up? How many survivors could of escaped if they had a teammate who actually played?

Most of the dc's happens when survivors are down quickly in the first chase or they hear a killer they don't like. Half the time the game could still go anybody way yet survivors will throw in towel for some reason. DC shouldn't be factor into the kill rate but i understand your pain man. Soon some one dc the team pretty much auto lose the match which is very unfair. Something need to be done about these players who just give up

I have been keeping statistics for my SoloQ games and yeah it's above 60% kill rate. Might make a post when I hit 100 games.

Same with afk survivors. Every once in a while I'll see someone not moving for several minutes. I try to play around this and keep it more or less fair but honestly this always results in a 4k, if I don't let them go.

Yeah, if wish were horses. But do we have any evidence of that claim? To me killers have it better then they have had it for a while now.

Dc:s are exluded from kill rates but if survivors would just do gens then they would be lower instead giving up. Survivors usually throw when killer tunnel/camps even when there is 1 gen left to do. They try to save that one survivor so badly that they all go down. Then there are teammates who just find totems to cleanse whole match. I ran console 81 prestige blight today 3 minutes and only 2,5 gens got done because both claudettes where too busy to bless totems. Well we lost that game at 2 gens left as blight downed them like flies. I wish I would face survivors like them if I ever commit to someone that long all gens get done. Even once 4 gens got done just in one minute when I tunneled wrong person with otr, ds, dh and adrealine. She was only one not hooked twice in that game.

What do you mean with evidence? Someone disconnecting or suiciding on the first down dooms the rest of the team. Is this even debatable?
Yesterday i had a match on the swamp against Blight. He tunneled hard but got his third hook (the kill) when we had 4 gens completed and my gen was at 30%. Next down instantly suicided on the first hook.
The match could have ended in a 2 or 3 man escape.

IIRC, BHVR stated that if a match has a D/C in it, the entire match is disregarded for the purpose of stat tracking.

Thankfully the dcs are not included in the stats. But dcs and suicides are still running wild. I haven´t played a lot lately because of that. Way to many dcs and/or suicides. Sometimes the suiciding survivor even stays until the end of the match to complain about the killer. Makes absolutely no sense.

That, and hatch doesn’t count as an escape for survivor. It’s a “null” for them but I believe the 3K or whatever still counts for killers.

People killing themselves on first hooks also count towards the kill rate. Anyone who plays killer knows this is super common yet they inflate the kill numbers.

it doesn't matter how the kills come about, tunnel someone kills themselves on the hook, dcs and and and... i would say 90% or more of the games are normal and what you describe doesn't happen as often as you portray it, most of them games in the solo q is my mates are very bad die in 10sec, the killer sees that and tunnels him out (which is also correct) but that's not the killer's problem it's the matchmaking, if it worked the "sweaty killer" that tunnel and camp they play against people who are on the same level you have to complain about bhvr great "mmr"
What I would like is just the statistics for how often in the swf 5 gens go on (win) and how many escapes, and please do the same for solo q and also a general one (for both) and the statistic how many % killrate the killer has (hatch and dc counted as kill) you can't do against both but still won (4k = win) or if a swf is mad and together dcs it's a lose ? or as if you didn't play? they gave up :D

And killers who give hatch are deflating kill numbers too.
But for some reason, slugging for the 4k is incredibly common. So I guess if killers want to guarantee buffs, they should give hatch every game. That would reduce kill percentage by up to 25%.

My point was how wide spread is it, is it enough to effect the killers 60% kill rate? I'm just not convinced of that.

Almost certainly. Then again, when I am playing killer and someone DCs immediately, the odds of me letting one or more others go rise dramatically, because I know how much it sucks to be abandoned right off the bat. So in my case, a surv DCing often spares their teammates.
Of course, playing those games out still really sucks for all of us, and the more that happens, the worse it is for the game. So maybe I should be merciless. I know from all my surv games that most killers aren't as kind hearted as I am.
Oh, I think it very much is.
Between my surv and killer matches, I would say I see a DC at 4+ gens in 1 out of 4 games, conservatively. And any kills that follow have to be considered suspect, as you have no idea how things would have gone with a full team dividing pressure.
Not to mention that many survs who stay in the game after an early DC aren't really trying anymore. I know in many of the matches I play where a teammate bails early, I know it's a lost cause and more often than not just switch to autopilot.
It's not just the DC/suicide on hook itself skewing the numbers, but the ripple of non-quantifiable effects.

The stats are useless no matter how you look at them because we can't see how they collected the data, what populations were used, or anything like that. For all we know kill rates went up solely because they disabled DS after exit gates were powered.

Counting the 3k would skew statistics, too, because the game is balanced for 4v1.

Hatch doesn't count as an escape and a DC isn't counted as a kill. Devs confirmed this ages ago
Also FWIW, my escape rate as solo survivor has dropped since mid-year shake up (and no, I've never used DH or meta builds) so they're definitely getting more kills from me. I'm fine with it.

Dont forget if killer brings a perk they don't like. I had a surv DC recently without me even hitting them. Downed a different surv. They went for a torch save on me and instantly disconnected when they failed to get the save because I had lightborn 🙄

I've had people give up at 1 gen left and it's almost done as soon as the first survivor dies. It's really absurd how frequently teams give up when they're winning.

Tunneling is only as easy as the survivors make it. The better the survivor, the harder it is to tunnel them.

There's only so much you can do if killer hard tunnels you straight off the hook. If they shadow you off the hook and wait out the basekit BT they can pretty much insta down. Even if they hit the deep wound straight away, it's very hard to shake a killer once you're wounded if they're determined to get you.
Unless you have god tier flashlight savers or bodyblockers there isn't much that most teams will be able to do about it.

It's one versus four. One survivor targeted by the killer isn't supposed to be able to survive if the killer gives up pressure on everyone else. Survivors are supposed to survive by working together with the option of being selfish and letting their team die for hatch.

If the killer tunnels the weakest link first there is no chance for all other 3 to escape.

That's not a problem with the killer, thats the problem with the survivor, who should learn to be better. Matchmaking issue, not a balance one.

The problem i see is, that killers are adapting to the seemingly faster gen times by playing in a "unfun" way in order to get kills.
If they would just play normally. Going for hooks instead of kills, like they did with BBQ before its nerf. Then kill rates would adjust properly.
But no one likes to get stomped non stop while playing "nice". So the unfun way it is.

DCs were extremely widespread whenever the devs turned the dc penalty temporarily down. Twitter, Reddit and this forum was full of comments about this. Ironically, the people that sherished turning the dc penalty off, never answered me on how their matches go, when they don´t dc.

It depends. I used to let the other survivors escape, when someone disconnected early on. Until someone said "gg reported for farming" in the endgame chat. Then i stopped, because some people just want to get into the next match.
Doesn´t matter how the killer plays after someone dcs, someone else will always complain.

"playing normal" tunnel and camp is unfun for survivor that is why you do stop that, but its ok to play against 4 man swf playing coordinated, gen rush with a map offering (and yeah they dropping often a map offering) you have to camp and tunnel alone because many maps are broken, way too big and there is also the possibility to rush genes, why do you think Nurse, Blight, Spirit are the best killers in dbd? Quite simply they don't need to destroy every pallet, they have the option of avoiding those thousand pallets, blight can even destroy them very quickly while he is in the ability
if you should play mr nice guy then you will lose because there are too many broken maps and the rng also has a huge range group A can have 8 pallets and 7 bad windows and group B can then on the same map get 20 pallets and 10 good windows (which also connect to a loop) it's just unfair but that's another story what i want to say is if the rng gives you 15 pallets on coal tower then it exists not Mr Nice Guy you have to camp and tunnel to win!
people have always camped and tunneled, they didn't start it because bbq no longer has stacks, if bhvr really wants people to go for hooks and stop tunneling and camping then bhvr should buff killer (so solo q won't goes down like after the last killer buff also buffs for the solos) change maps so that they are not too broken, but also on the side of survivor Midwich, Shelter Woods, Wrteched Shop, RPD, Saloon (balanced but 3 gen abuseable with new mata) change the RNG so that such unfair situations cannot occur
but why doesn't bhvr do that? Actions speak louder than a thousand words, they just don't want it, bhvr says "we don't want tunnels and camping" but bring things in that favor it, bhvr says "we want to put an MMR in" but you get one person in your lobby who has 10k hours and ez can juke the killer minutes and the other person has 500h and doesn't know where the front and back is, is completely overwhelmed, bhvr says "we don't want people who have a bad connection to make unrealistic hits, hit validation is coming "To this day people are still rewarded for having bad latency, bhvr talks a lot when the day is long but at the end of the day they don't want to and that's why they lie to us, or they're too incompetent and just can't do it that way so both are bad, when bhvr talks I only hear "we talk big but can't or don't want to"
