Feng Min isnt the only survivor
Feng Min gets way too many cosmetics. I get it shes a fan favorite but i feel like others would get a chance to be a fan favorite too if they actually got cute cosmetics as well. Im a girl so obviously i want cute clothes for my main. Theres a lot of girls who play this game and the only one who really gets girly cosmetics is Feng. So it only makes sense for girls to gravitate towards Feng. My main is Elodie and she doesnt get the recognition she deserves. For me when Elodie came into the game it made me really happy to see someone who looks like me in the dead by daylight world. But her outfits are just ugly. Her cosmetics age her up. There are so many different styles they could do with her and they waste it. The only good outfit she has is the afro punk one that was made by a fan. Its not just with Elodie its with other characters as well. To me Haddie is good representation but sadly not many people main her because she doesnt have a good selection of cosmetics.

As a Feng main, I agree with all this. I want to branch out on my roster but I'm really into changing outfits on the regular. No one ca touch Feng. This isnt fair to Feng or non-Feng players. BHVR, please change this.

In the end its business, and Feng skins are selling like crazy.
So if you want other skins, better start spending on other cosmetics.

Sadly, BHVR will never stop making massive amounts of Feng cosmetics as long as they sell.
The only way to get them to stop is to get the community to not buy them, and make them buy outfits for other characters, which sadly won't happen.

BHVR could give Feng something as simple as a white t-shirt with skinny jeans and they'd still make bank off of it.

Feng isn't the only survivor, she's just one of the most popular and well received ones. Its never really too much when one of your best character designs is giving you a great return on the work you put into it. I don't think 50 good outfits for Haddie would make people play her. Feng gets unreasonable criticism as well as the developers about this. People complain and want them to create outfits that will only appeal to a small amount of people. If the character isn't first received well it doesn't make sense to keep making cosmetics for them. I'm sure Elodie and Haddie will get more stuff eventually, but its completely reasonable that the stars of the game receive the most attention. I saw people using Feng's newer outfits the first day they came out. I haven't seen Haddie in a lobby since her chapter was released. In the end its about what is marketable and not every character or cosmetic they make is going to be as marketable as others.

Feng could become even more popular if she started giving her cosmetics to other survivors. Haddie in a Bunny popstar outfit? Haddie in a Jill cosplay? Lets do it!

Well, you can always buy those Haddie heads where if you use a magnifying lens and you squint really hard, you will a small chance to notice the earrings are slightly differently colored...

Yeah, for example Vittorio is handsome, thats why he got lot more popular than Haddie.
I don't what's BHVR obsession with ugly females.
I mean you can add those, and get praise, but in the end won't ever sell

Elodie is just one of those characters that doesnt fit in the "cute" cosmetics types. Thats not her. Like Felix, they are both just one of those mature survivors that are dressed in classy and sometimes extravagant styles as thats their lifestyle.
Thats why most ppl lean more to feng because she fits that role better than anyone else and gets more revenue frome it.
Now i agree, they really need to branch out and give other survivors more cosmetics. Im getting tired of certain survivors getting more. But what can u do.

the poodle hairdo with the granny glasses is so atrocious!
i really only like the community look - the dreads with the purple head wrap.
i'd like more cosmetics not showing her midsection. midsection looks in this game feel cringey to me as Bhvr has done an amazing job not sexualizing their female survivors. it's refreshing as heck.

Thats kinda part of my point. In my opinion Haddie is ugly. So thats why she doesnt appeal to people. If they gave other girls fashionable outfits and not make them look like theyre pushing 40 then people would use them as well

Why cant she be glamorous? That makes no sense to me. She doesnt have to be adorable gamer girl but why cant she be dressed in fashionable clothes? Anyone can dress nice even if they are older. Im gonna guess Elodie is like 30 but doesnt look much older than Feng. As a gamer to me its just that video games tend to forget their black characters in the dust. Black characters are there just to say they have diversity. To me theres so much they could do with Claud and Elodie and they dont do it.

BHVR doesn’t have an obsession with “ugly females” the community just has a weird obsession with female characters that have to fall into the beauty standard. I’ve never seen a community that will actively trash a character simply because they don’t find them attractive. Go outside.

It has nothing to do with going outside, lmao. We are just giving our opinions since the OP mentioned that Haddie isn't played much and thought it was because of cosmetics. No, it's because she's ugly. Just being truthful. No number of cosmetics will make her popular.

I honestly would like to see Elodie in modern clothing that women wear or something that screams im rich. They could also do a 90s style fashion pack. They did it for the 50s/60s and 80s already.

Honestly i dont think Feng would be as popular if she didnt have the best cosmetics in the game. Which is why i feel like behavior should put effort in other characters as well. Because at this point making new characters is a waste if you're gonna just forget about them.

It all depends on how well the character is received. There is no point in staying focused on a character that the player base didn't respond well to. Making new characters is always risky but it is possible to make a new character that will become a new fan favorite or as popular as other favorites. I remember when Yui's chapter was announced and I knew everyone would love her and they did. She was received very well. I see her in almost every lobby I'm in. What they need to do is create a character like that again, or an even better one.

I disagree. Some survivors just aren't visually appealing no matter what cosmetics you put on them and some just aren't relatable at all. The only reason people main different survivors is visual appeal or relatability with I'm sure a few for lore. Me for example, I LOVE Mikaela's outfits but her lore and face is very unappealing for me to play so I never touch her. Claudette is very pretty with some cute cosmetics but I don't play her because I just don't see myself in any facet of her and I don't find her lore amazing.
Kate Denson however, I do main because I absolutely adore her lore and design
Feng Min I main because I love her cosmetics and we're both Chinese which I don't find much in other games.
Ada I main because she's been my second favorite character in gaming since I was 6 and played RE4.
Yun-Jin I main because her lore is terrific and I love her cosmetics (Even if she had bad cosmetics her heavy lore and default cosmetic are adorable)
A character like Haddie is unrelatable, not visually appealing, and doesn't have any cosmetics that could save her. From her culturally incorrect clothing, to her short and stubby body, to her horrible hair, to her un-unique fashion and style, to her extremely older face that doesn't match her lore, she doesn't scream anything in any good way. She has mediocre lore considering the Haddie we have isn't the Haddie in our lore.
Elodie simply doesn't get cosmetics because no one plays her. The Twins left a horrid taste in everyones mouth and Elodie not having good perks hurt her as well. Elodie is one of my side mains as I adore her fashion style and there's plenty of cute combos you can do with a lot of her outfits (I personally use her wide brim hat with her white crop top and bloody jeans). I'm sure Elodie being a purchase only character also severely hurts her as not many purchase only characters are mained outside much older ones like Kate Denson who was around 2 years prior to Elodie and brought a whole HEAP of changes on her release (First survivor in 6 months, first non licensed survivor in quite a while, she brought the item shop as well, descent killer perks, descent survivor perks, a minor rework to leveling, and a big visual overhaul to the UI.
Feng Min however is crazy popular for many reasons. She has a good fashion style that suits her, she doesn't have that many cosmetics that are terrible, she is just visually attractive, shes relatable heavily, she's basically the OC of the Chinese DBD community, She is even more popular in Asia and when Sadako Rising dropped many Asian players joined DBD most of whom I assume went straight to Feng since not only is she free on every version of DBD beyond mobile and pc, but she's the most relatable asian character.

Lol. So Elodie might not be relatable FOR YOU. She is for me and many other black people who play dead by daylight. For me and many others there arent many good black representation in games. We're just in the game to say hey look everyone heres our black character.

I'm not going to complain about Feng anymore but could they at least not just give the same five survivors cosmetics all the time? Like I get it, Feng is their cash cow so they must spam her with skins. But we absolutely do not need a meg skin every other patch, especially since they struggle with making her skins look good. I don't care about Dwight, I'm starting to get sick of Kate, Nea is well Nea. Mikaela has been in this game for one year and she's already surpassed some of the older survivors cosmetic count. Would it kill them to throw Zarina or Elodie into the mix every once in a while?

Unfortunately as a licensed character, their hands are kind of tied with adding cosmetics. Most companies are not as open as Capcom is being with Resident Evil. Second most open would be Konami with Silent Hill, third would be Lionsgate (Saw) The rest, they just really don't care about adding more cosmetics so BHVR can't do it.

It's a bit of a fait accompli now.
She's got the cosmetics, so she has the fanbase. They don't want to add more cosmetics to, say, Jane or Jeff because those might not sell.

Like why even try to make this about her being black I didn't even mention her race and even said I PLAY HER MYSELF! I said HADDIE wasn't good representation as not only is she not relatable lore wise, but she misrepresents Sikh and Hindu culture. Go back and read my comment before being so mad lol (Edit: and about the black representation thing, I'd assume the paranormal hunting rich girl isn't as relatable as Claudette is for most players in the same way Yui Kimura isn't as relatable as Feng Min to Asian players like myself lol. Elodie is purchase only, and has unrelatable lore for most people so that could also be a factor why she is less played as well)

I'm Chinese and very feminine! When I first played in 2018 all we had for girls was Meg, Claudette, Nea, Laurie, and Feng. I mained Laurie and Feng and when Kate dropped, releasing the item shop with her, I dropped Laurie for Kate. Kate had a very casual and southern belle style I thought was adorable and I LOVED her lore! And Feng Min was Chinese and the most feminine girl in the cast plus a gamer. Overall it was a very good fit for me and Feng! She's not in my top 2 now but she's 4th. For me its Ada, Cheryl, Yun-Jin, Feng/Kate are tied now. Once Feng's qipao dropped I definitely mained her nonstop for a few months lol I love Cheongsams/Qipaos and I had just gotten mine around the same time so it was a cute match

It doesn't matter what she is to you. The only thing that matters is what is true about the character itself. Yui was very well received. I see her in almost every match. I play her a lot myself. She has a good selection of cosmetics and even was one of the characters chosen for the Attack on Titan skins. Yui as a character is very cool and looks great even in her default outfit. She was a total win survivor.
