The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

100% done playing killer until the imbalance is fixed

The solution isn’t “just run these perks, or play S tier killers”

2 days of every game feeling like a SWF sweat squad.

I’m out.

Respect. Do your matches feel any different than before? I'm trying to find out how much the HUD actually changed when it comes to balancing. So I would really appreciate any insight you can give.

Many killer players (myself included) feel a difference in their matches. My matches have been mostly losses. I randomly tracked 10 of my games in a row and noted down average match times and kills. I got 7 kills (out of 40, so yeah, pretty bad) and an average game time of a bit over 6 minutes. I'm not sure why that changed so suddenly, granted I didn't really change my play style or perks. So that's why I guess it is probably connected to the new HUD.

My Killer matches pretty much feel the same. Survivors are slightly more efficient at gens but they’re still bad at chases and honestly tunneling 1 person out early, which is what killers were doing before this solo queue HUD change anyway, is still going to essentially win killers the match. At least it does for me.

It's hard to say for sure. It does feel like more gens do get done, so I'll certainly grant that part. I don't have nearly as many "4K with 3+ generators undone" games as I have before.

I also do have games that I do get curb stomped in but that's not any more unusual than normal. Sometimes it might just be a SWF. It could be the new HUD system that gives a group of solos the info they need to be really good. Sometimes I just suck D:

I just don't feel like I'm getting the curb stomping that everyone else seems to be getting but maybe I am and I'm just way more lax about it so I don't really notice...

I don't think I do anything all that fancy or special when I play (unless not playing Nurse and Blight count as special because I don't like them). I certainly could throw something up next time I decide to stream though if people are curious.

Fair point but Eruption hasn't changed yet. So Eruption is not the variable that would somehow explain this. Also the same can be said for survivors that bring ridiculous items every match.

Take me for example. I don't run gen regression perks. I simply don't like them. Never did. However, the survivors I face as a killer bring toolboxes and medkits that completely outclass everything I run and are often enough not good in chase and have to resort to predropping and pallet camping to hold me off for a while. I still lose many of these games because I can't burn through their resources as fast as they finish the game.

Interesting. I genuinely haven't thought about the possibility that some players were held back by this lack of information before. That could explain at least part of what we're seeing but should probably even out in a few weeks as their MMR should now put them somewhere closer to where they actually belong. Thanks for your insight!

I'm also not sure if I just made huge mistakes (possible) but I felt a bit powerless after in most of these games I lost 2-3 gens in 2 minutes even with Lethal Pursuer, which helps me to push off survivors from gens a bit. Would also be a bit weird, if for some reason I only started making these mistakes (that I'm mostly unaware of) just after the patch. It's a possibility none the less.

I do think that if you give it a bit of time, the ranks will start to even back out. Right now a lot of solo players who are good players are going to start winning games that they would have lost from lack of communication/teamwork while the solo players who just aren't very good are going to remain where they're at.

As to the powerless part, through my years of playing, I've determined that having those first gens pop quickly is basically expected at this point. I've always said the "True" game doesn't begin until you're at 2-3 gens as unless you're an incredible killer or going up against awful survivors, there's no real reason why the first few gens shouldn't be done when the killer has no real decent opportunity to fight back yet.

EDIT: Also, I do want to stress that this might also just be a "personality" kind of thing and that I'm running into the same issues as every other killer but I just...don't care :D I haven't noticed any big differences but I've played this game for so long that it might just be that I'm now pretty well immune to caring if I win or lose as a killer. Since I'm not feeling that frustration when I do get my skull caved in, I'm not noticing how often it's happening

The survivor icon buff is huge. I went from like 10% survival rate to 50%, some due to skill building, a lot due to knowing what gen is at what % when the killer chases the other solo off it.

Playing killer, the survivors feel more coordinated, but not yards away from where they were. You can still kill them.

None of it feels like a SWF sweat squad, except a SWF squad.

Lol the thread jinxed me cause I got my arse kicked all night except the game as Pinhead when for some reason no one wanted to go for unhooks so I 4Ked after only getting like...6 hooks
