So the next chapter won't have a new map right?
This is unconfirmed, l know that but the devs said that the realm beyond update would continue and that many changes would come in the last mid-chapter of the sixth year of DBD.
Usually while they work on realm beyond update, new maps are not released which makes me sad. l know that the devs don't have the talent to make a decent map even after 6 years of experience but still one of the things i'm most excited about is the new maps even if sometimes they are broken and unbalanced. well, we can wait for the swamp rework I guess...

didn't they say 3 new maps this year? I don't remember but garden and joy and the ugly new knight one are the only ones we got.
I certainty hope they don't count map reworks as "new maps" that would be VERY disappointing

Exactly what I was thinking, does the reworked RPD count as a new map? since it is somehow divided in two.

im gonna just hope not.

At this point I don't want any more new maps until existing map design is heavily improved. There are enough maps in the game to provide variety to the point where I'm okay not having new maps for a while.

Normally I’d say this is a good thing as BHVR’s notoriously bad when it comes to designing good and balanced maps, but assuming swamp is the next one to get reworked, I already know that they’re gonna ruin that one and keep the streak of dog water maps going. Who’s ready for Pale Rose to become Gideon 2.0?

Wishing for Sadako and cenobite maps if possible

Idk they will never create a map that people agree are good, nature of the game

Nah I hope they don'T make a new map soon. The ones released recently are horrible. They should fix the current ones before pumping out new ones.

It's most likely The crotus prenn realm that gets reworked next. The teaser picture they showed looks like the main of the disturbed ward

The map creating team needs some serious training before they create any new maps. Whoever is was that decided that it would be fun to force killers to search for red scratchmarks, red pools of blood, and red auras.... on a red map with a red glow, is in serious need of extra training. It is beyond my comprehension why BHVR couldn't just give the map a completely different tone color for killers. Is the map creation team proud of their newest map? Do they see the red on red on red, and high five each other for a job well done?

They already reworked Crotus, why would they do it again? Especially before the ones we have left with no rework at all.

At first I was gonna be "people bashing the devs unreasonably like always" but then I thought about it and the last 3 maps have been Shattered Square, Garden of Joy and Eyrie of Crows.
Yeah....the people have a point with this one if we got no maps for a while that might be a good thing. Devs legit haven't made a good map since Midwich and even that map isn't exactly the pinnacle of balance. Really you have to go all the way back to Oni and Sanctum of Wrath to find a map that doesn't favor either side.
I wanna see how they redo Red forest and then if that remake is good maybe they can be trusted to make more maps.

The devs have confirmed it’s not Crotus, as it already got reworked in the Realm Beyond Update. They used that picture as a representative for the Realm Beyond Map updates.
the only Realms that didn’t get the update are Swamp and Red Forest. So one of these.

The passive aggressiveness of this made me giggle

Havent seen an indoor-map for long time. Garden of Pain, Shattered Square and Eyrie of Crow are the latest, all outdoor.
I wish for a prison-map for example.

Hellshire Penitentiary from Slinger's lore, maybe? That'd be an amazing addition

The reason why I thought that the picture was a teaser for the rework was that in the german version it sounded like that picture was a direct teaser for the next reworked realm. But yeah, the english version explicitly states that they want to wait with the teasers until the update comes closer. My bet is that it's going to be swamp then.

Perhaps, but you certainly can create maps that aren't as commonly disliked as some of the worst ones we have right now.

Devil's' Advocate: The reason the new maps are so mediocre might be because they've spent so much time redesigning maps instead of making new ones, they don't know how to properly make one from the ground up anymore. In which case, they need to keep at it because if they take another long break they're just going to keep forgetting their mistakes and make even worse maps in the long run. It does seem like they're learning as they go; they aren't repeating the same mistakes, the new maps are all awful in completely new ways each time.
