Give dead hard the killer meta treatment?
Devs please be brave (i promise survivors won't leave your game) and nerf dead hard as hard as Ruin, Thanatophobia, Pop, Tinkerer and Eruption. To the point that survivors no longer want to waste a perk slot using it, just like killers don't bother with the nerfed perks anymore. If it's still the most used perk in the game, it's still extremely good, it's as simple as that.
(P.S i rarely play this game anymore, but looking at dead hard as the most used perk STILL, blows my mind. While every gen regression perk is getting destroyed)

Can y’all just be PATIENT?! It literally only mentioned an eruption nerf, because it’s the most anticipated perk nerf. A mod already said the notes did not encompass all the perk changes.

Hun. The moment it was reworked it from around 60% to 15% usage. Now its at about 30% because ppl got better at using it. Which required skills. Even if gutted, i still see ppl using it alot

Si porfavor señores desarrolladores escuchen nos, la verdad es que le dan mucho mucho valor a los supervivientes, tengan en cuenta a los killers tambien. Claro maten a erupción pero háganse a los ciegos con las premades con chat de voz comunicados en todo momento, que no es parte del juego y es una gran ventaja extra, o con la perks: demuestra lo que vales (demuestra el genrush), resiliencia, con los 4 survis con cajas de reparacion con recambio a tope. Para que sea equilibrado deberían tocar un poco esas perks también, no lloro por erupción pero lo justo es que también toquen las perks de genrush meta, o no debían destruir totalmente a erupción hay muy buenas ideas de cómo cambiarla sin destruirla en los foros, a la comunidad no nos gusta que hagan estas cosas por favor tomen nos en cuenta y balanceen el juego para que sea divertido y sobretodo JUSTO para ambos lados.

They already nerfed many of survivors meta perks in the last perk rework, including DH.

One is them is given as basekit, DS is still decent (and they provided an even better version of DS, off the record) , DH is still the most used perk. Killer meta perks nerfed to the point you don't see them anymore.

to even call Dead Hard's rework a nerf is debatable, it's still the best survivor perk, still extremely strong, still a 3rd health state, still has virtually no counterplay when combined with a pallet, etc.
but now you get a hit speedboost off of it lol, so it just has different situations where it excels, but most of them are the same as before, sometimes you even get better results than before.

Will it be much better playing killer against four SB or Lithe instead? I can see four SB being very annoying also. But yes they need to nerf DH if they are serious saying they will shift meta from time to time.

If you think Dead Hard is getting nerfed in the mid-chapter, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Mandy had no problem saying DH was slated for changes before 6.1, but now when I pointed out that Eruption got dumpstered while no meta survivor perk got touched, she just said "these aren't all the perk changes!"

It’s not debatable at all lmao. Old dead hard gave guaranteed value. Not gonna make it to that window or pallet? DH for distance and boom, you’re safe.
Dh is really not that hard to counter now. I’ve seen some of the videos people post in the forums about “DH IS SOOOO BROKEN!!!” and it’s them falling for the same old “I’m gonna run directly into the killer and DH” trick over and over.
Counter in the open - simply wait it out.
Counter at windows - let them dab into the window, or wait for the vaulting animation to start, hit.
Counter at pallets - anticipate them to DH through the pallet if you know they have it. Stop swinging thinking you HAVE to. The amount of downs I get on letting them DH through a pallet then downing them before they can drop is absurd. It does not work if you know the timing.
Something that’s virtually uncounterable is somebody who can properly 99 a sprint burst.

That didn't work as a counterargument for Eruption, so it doesn't work for Dead Hard either.

Either you face some rather slow survivors or you are an absolute god in timing these things. DH at pallet does not have real counterplay. Waiting for the animation and then swing will result in you either hitting them with endurance or them dropping the pallet on your head. That little window of time (maybe 0.1s, probably less) is heavily dependent on latency and different character models as well as distance. Have fun timing that when we couldn't ask (rightfully so) to time stop doing a gen to not get hit by Eruption.

We’re not talking about eruption are we? You can absolutely wait out the dh. You can bait the DH. It’s really not hard.
Sometimes I face slow survivors, sometimes I face the sweatiest of squads. It doesn’t change the way DH works and the human error / latency with its timing. This is just my experience. I do not have any problems with DH, and I usually see 2-4 in every game.

I like how nobody mentions Corrupt or Pain Resonance when they say every killer meta perk got gutted.
I also like how nobody mentions Iron Will, Spine Chill or Self Care when they say the Survivor meta gets some kind of special protection.

Why should people be patient? What is the purpose of repeatedly telling us about eruption, but making zero mention of dead hard, unless it's done on purpose to cause drama? There is no universal law that requires BHVR to only tell us one perk at a time. If they were planning on nerfing dead hard, they could have announced it already.
Besides we were patient before the meta shakeup, and look what happened there. And BHVR has been well aware that eruption and dead hard are the two most hated perks. I want dead hard nerfed into the ground like what is happening to eruption. I don't want a version of dead hard where people bicker and argue on whether or not it's a nerf. I want it nerfed so hard that everyone is in agreement that the perk is dead in the ground.

"Press e to gain endurance for 0.5 seconds, if you didn't get hit during the endurance your character tumbles over in a very comedic way and is downed"

It's flatly a hard nerf unless you're a few select killers. You CAN still hit a survivor DHing into a pallet, you actually couldn't do anything about DH for distance, which also worked for windows as well as pallets.

The thing that annoyed me was in the Dev notes when they said, we are "looking at perks that rhyme with scherruption."Their joke wasn't funny it was annoying. It's as if they don't realize that EVERY DBD GAME REQUIRES A KILLER PLAYER and that they deserve better game experiences too.
How about looking at a perk that is called dead hard.

Dead Hard got buffed, not nerfed. For any decently good player, new DH is just straight up better than old dh.
You can go "but what if somebody is bad at the game and can't use it properly, that makes it not as good as it used to be", but by that logic Nurse is a weak killer because some people are bad at the game and cant land blinks properly.

New DH is also guarenteed value if you're good enough to hit it on reaction, which is not that difficult. Not only that, it actually gives more value than old DH, and is useful in more situations as well ; eg: old DH was useless in deadzones, but new DH can get you out of them.

You can "absolutely wait out" Eruption, it got completely gutted anyway; DH absolutely deserves a nerf, it warps the game just as much.

Iron Will still provides near silence, just not as much especially when it can turn itself off. Spine Chill only lost its Resilience synergy. Self Care’s still good with Botany. Meanwhile, Ruin, Thana, and Eruption have been so heavily nerfed that’s there’s absolutely 0 reason to consider using them anymore when there’s dozens of other perks that do their job better.

its not that difficult? It is beyond difficult to time a DH against a non-lunge attack. This is based on human reaction times vs the time to complete the attack. This DH is useless in deadzones unless you have a brain dead killer. I just finished a match against 4 dead hards. They didn’t land A SINGLE ONE successfully. It’s not hard.
Again… we aren’t talking about eruption?

With Botany, yeah. Maybe not good, but not completely dead unlike the killer perks I mentioned.

It’s pre-nerf Selfcare with Botany and that wasn’t good either, lest you forget. Thanatophobia is extremely good on Plague, Legion, and, well, now that the mangled status is bugged, pretty much any killer with perks/add-ons that inflict a mangled status. Ruin stinks but is outclassed by other Gen regression perks that do its job without the drawback of being hex totems. Eruption isn’t bad.

Op has a point: Eruption was changed for it's nature of "wait it out" and being obnoxious to have aganist, they should have changed dead hard too for those instances... Personally speaking i'm tired of seeing that cursed perk everywhere, i just want see it dead (pun intended) once and for all.

DH was nerfed and buffed at the same time. It is harder to use but the best players actually get more out of it now. People who were good would use DH for distance and it had no counter.
That version of DH and the current version of DH make chases last much longer than all of the other exhaustion perks. That needs to stop.
DH needs to lose the "3rd health state". It needs to give no more/less than Sprint burst does in a chase.

Idk what to do about DH. But I agree that killer meta perks get nuked into Oblivion while survivor meta perks get tweaked. Its blatant at this point.

It’s the same speed as old Self Care Botany. Thana’s only usable on Plague, but far outclassed by virtually everything else. The reason the perk is trash on everyone including Legion is because you need all 4 survivors injured in order to get value, which will never happen, especially when medkits and boons exist. Don’t know why you’d bring up a bug that’s already been fixed as a “strength” lmao. Idk how you could argue Eruption isn’t trash when aura reading in that instance is pointless and it legit inflicts less damage than a failed skill check in virtually every circumstance.

They can delete DH for how much I care, but this forum meltdown does tell me that indeed there are a lot gen-kicking bots who got hard carried by Eruption. Hilarious.
I mean, it doesn't work as a counterargument because it's stupid as #########. Eruption incapacitates them from doing gens and... do you want them to counter that by not doing gens at all? If that's what people think, I guess the Eruption brain is a real disease.
It would only work on a lunge/power and on low latency on top of that. There's no validation anymore on DH. Try it on reaction on central EU server and you'll go down mid-animation in 3/4 of your trials, because 3/4 the killers are Russians lagging like there’s no tomorrow.

I'm sure you think that's true. A good player using Dead Hard can sometimes make a chase 30 seconds longer. A good team that throws in a few body blocks can make that 30 seconds into 60 seconds. The survivors can win if one person is on gens and everyone else cycles in/out to interfere with chase. Obviously during the first chase they blast 2-3 gens. You can see this happen daily on Truetalent's stream where he plays survivor as he is fed up playing killer (but will still play it if you pay him to do so using your build request).
Your argument about the trapper is a strawman. Nobody is going to say : The Entity's left hand is such a good Trapper player that he could probably do better than an "average" blight.

That’s what I keep saying. Constantly murdering Killer perks but never trying to help them will cause killers to quit. They can take eruption if we can just get better chase and hook perks. Give us better Hex protection outside of running either Undying or playing as damn Michael with Face The Darkness and Thrill of the Hunt.

0,75s of activation, but its starts with 2 tokens and you can't gain any more tokens. This will allow killers to just swing when they got you cornered and survivors have to decide if its worth it. They can still try to go for their window techs, but can't use it to greed every single palette to the max. 2 shots per game, and this perk would still see play, because it got the most favorable activation condition: when the survivor is wounded, in the open and going to get downed in the next 8 frames.

It didnt work as a counterargument, because unlike the killer in a chase with a dead hard user, a solo survivor on a gen has no knowledge on when to wait it out. The fact that you dont know the difference seems to say all about how usefull a discussion with you about dbd balance is.

Since when does a killer know that the survivor in front of them has dead hard if it wasn't already successfully used against them once before.
That's one of the complaints that dh just like DS give through uncertainty alone a benefit for survivor as a whole.

Dead Hard was recently nerfed. I’m not sure what else they could do with the perk at this stage and I don’t find it anywhere near as powerful as it used to be. Can you still get use out of it? Well, yeah, but you can say that about every single perk in the game. It’s not as reliable as it once was.
Even as a David main, I’ve never fully understood the love for Dead Hard. In terms of exhaustion perks, I’ve always found Lithe to be far superior.
