This is STILL the Predator chapter
I fully believe DBD is taking the Apex Legends route in its way of stopping leaks and bringing huge hype back to a chapter release.
For background, Apex was having troubles with leaks a couple of years back and it was leading to their characters not holding a lot of hype. To combat this, they created a fake character, Forge, that even had abilities in the files and they made a reveal in which they talked about this new character and how he was a new character, until a teaser trailer released in which the character was killed by the ACTUAL new playable character, Revenant. This was an insane moment and I have always remembered it.
Now, everyone is pointing out the eerily similar things about this killer to a predator, to the level where it is almost comical. Her animations feel weird and scuffed, some of them feel more fit for a bigger character, and the mori would make far more sense with a killer of a bigger stature. Now I'm not the first to assume this chapter was maybe meant to be a predator chapter but was scrapped and rushed, but what if...
it literally still is the predator chapter. This would help curb the leaks and bring hype to a new chapter after the last, what 4 chapters? were leaked. The story feels so all over the place compared to others, the animations and even the killer model looks reused from other models, so what if it was all done this way on purpose because it actually wouldn't be a big loss of work? The PTB still serves a purpose as well because perks and power are still going to be the same.
If I wanted to put on my tinfoil hat as well, I'd also say in the behind the scenes video for this chapter they did NOT show nearly as much background work as they usually do like concept art, and they mainly repeatedly said the same vague statements that didn't lead to anything as well as say the word predator an uncanny amount.

I think they're releasing an original chapter that is similar to a licensed chapter on purpose because they're instead going to give those characters licensed cosmetics. Instead of getting 3 characters for $11 and calling it a day you instead have to spend $10-15 per cosmetic. Also if license doesn't renew the agreement, like with Stranger Things, it's alot easier to just remove some cosmetics from the store than it is to go through everything they did when Stranger Things left. So you'll get Predator, it will just be a $15 cosmetic.

honestly a solid theory as well and very plausible with the cosmetics they have done recently like birkin. I was honestly expecting a xenomorph skin for demo and have them release demo AS xenomorph so it doesn't coincide with netflix. demo owners would get a skin, others could buy demo but without it looking like demo

I'd debunk this with the trailers. They're too well done with tons of detail to be a rush job meant for other chapters. That being said something certainly went wrong during development that lead to this mess of a chapter and the worst Mori we've ever gotten for no reason whatsoever

How would this being the Predator Chapter curb the leaks, it was not leaked until the day of PTB?

This would actually be a huge hype moment, and something completely new for the game. The update goes live, we go to play and its predator. They usually dont have the new content in the store for about an hour either, so it would be amazing.

I expect more of predator being a legendary skin for wraith instead of being a new character of a chapter. The wraith power is clearly inspired by predator.

I would actually believe this theory, if she was the sole character from the DLC (like Cannibal, Ghost Face and Pinhead)
The fact that she comes with 2 survivors unrelated to the Predator movies is sus

bHVR, having noticed the negative reception this chapter got so far, noticed that they got an easy way out to garner some good will and now frantically try to strike a deal with Disney within the PTBs time frame. Speaking of making a deal with the devil.

I hope it is not true, I like The Survivors alot.
And while the killers downright horrible animations, sound design, lack of voice lines, and bad power are annoying. I'd still rather have original characters
